It really really is and I WISH the game showed boss assists!

i giggle to myself any time i have a charger and i ink a fish stick for another weapon, i try to help my teammates a lot it’s really cute when people do it for me too lol. or shooting at the marooner’s bay propeller so you can ink the sides. hitting a scrapper so it faces your teammate with a better weapon or better access to the back. there’s a lot of ways you can passively be a good teammate but sometimes i feel like people are too focused on getting as many bosses as possible, even if it’s detrimental to the wave

I totally relate to wishing that the game showed assists. I try to do all of the helpful things for teammates and feel like I am contributing a lot, then I check the stats and it looks like I was completely carried.

The reason I say “weaker side” is because at 240 per shot, it doesn’t kill any boss in one shot and I think a lot of people who are new to the game or who don’t understand chargers see that as being weak. I hear that complaint all the time when people are discussing the Pencil, and it seems to be one of the biggest reasons why people don’t like the weapon to begin with. It’s only when you’re able to stack 240 shots on top of each other in quick succession that it becomes clear that the Pencil is one of the strongest chargers in the game and actually has insane damage capabilities. It’s the same in PvP too, it doesn’t one shot kill but instead needs two. So I don’t actually agree that it’s weak - it’s just a common complaint I’ve heard about it. I think if you’re new to the game or casual, then weapons like pencil aren’t exactly immediately obvious how powerful they are and take some time. My guides are aimed at newer/less experienced players primarily so I think if you’re someone who has time or practice in the game, the videos won’t inform you the same way. I ended up cutting a lot of stuff from the video cause pencil is so different to most other weapons and I think the tech surrounding this weapon is also different and worth talking about. But I think if I made a 20 min video talking about it, it wouldn’t have the reach of a 5-10 min video. So yeah I end up losing a lot of intricate detail sometimes. Not ideal but hopefully the videos serve as a good launching point for people. Also about the range - you’re right, I think I misspoke. It’s the same as the Splatterscope in joint 3rd behind both the eliters for PvP. I think I must’ve said the wrong thing cause it’s 2nd for SR but joint 3rd for PvP. Related question, but seriously… if you have a dynamo and are stuck in ink, and a maws comes underneath you, are you just SOL? Because the swing time is just not fast enough to move in time. Like you need to be already moving to avoid Maws. Even jumping is not fast enough. I guess you’d have to master the dodge.

Also yes you can! I show it off in my Dynamo video but it’s possible to aim your roller down and hit it three times before it kills you and you can escape

I just did 2-3 bosses but I ended up running into friends so it wasn’t that bad in the end but I made it so that I avoided FL lol

Had it in but cut it, along with night wave and other tech related stuff. There’s so much to talk about with this weapon. I left footage of me with the Kings in so hopefully the point translates over :)

I mean boss attack cycles! I use a bit of jargon in my videos so apologies. But basically learning how and when bosses are likely to start their attack against you. So for example: when a maws is about to come up from the ground, when a flopper is about to dive into the circle or when a steelhead is launching its bomb. All of these are set on timed cycles depending on when they’re focused on you or whoever is closest to you. A lot of SR is time management or understanding the way in which bosses act so you can make the most out of the time you have. I hope that helps!

@@rachelskiiiiiii It helps a lot! Thank you so much! I never feel like I'm doing well in SR because I focus on cleaning up lessers when it comes to weapons I'm unfamiliar with. Yet, somehow I keep getting on teams that win and have me level up to higher difficulties before I'm ready! It's a lot of back and forth and your videos really help highlight what I could be doing with these weapons instead of flopping around like a confused fish. Thank you again!

​@@rachelskiiiiiii On this topic, it is something I definitely see myself needing improvement on. Has anyone else found themself frozen in position waiting for a flyfish to open or using a special too early when the boss you want to target isn't vulnerable? It happens to me more than it should.

@starlyknewyoupartner7335 clearing lessers is always a good thing to do if you don’t know what else to do though!

@waingro42 used an inkjet too early yesterday and missed two Flyfish. Watched as they opened up again after my jet finished 😭

Thanks for commenting :) I actually do have most of these weapons done - playlist is here: ru-vid.com/group/PLJK3nebAMckEVnMRxMJBi8md5E9bttNpf&si=-b45idICesveiIAl I specifically started with weaker or trickier weapons first for the series, so weapons like Gootuber, Carbon, Inkbrush, Hydra etc are all done already! I plan to do all weapons so the playlist will slowly fill up over time. There’s a ton of useful information in the individual weapon videos that should help you with the particular weapons - for example, Inkbrush, I have the issue with hand strain too due to a problem with ligaments in my hand so I tend to offset it by using height and ledges to my advantage. Carbon I play very supportively as it’s really weak but it does have positives going for it that are worth focusing, such as good speed and mobility. So yeah, there’s a ton of info in those videos that might be able to help you! One of the biggest things that helped me was genuinely just playing more. Carbon, Goo, Squeezer etc are all outclassed by other weapons in their classes and I’d never really pick them over any other weapon but I’ve learnt to use them in ways that maximise them just through practice and grinding the game.
