Horses for courses. I use what the situation demands and the Exile usually equips very differently from thralls. However, there are standouts. Maces: Momentum, Quake, Aja's Bane are the top three. I only use them on thralls. Axes: Festering One, Annoying Shard are top picks for the Exile. There are a lot of oddball axes with special attributes, but they're situational. Lots of options. Swords: They suck. I consider these farming weapons and whatever has damage over 60ish is good enough. Executioner's Blade probably the best of a bad lot. Predatory Blade if you can stand spamming light attacks until the heat death of the universe. I'll pass. Short Swords: Void-forged Gladius, Venom-soaked Gladius, Bane of the Dead. These are all cannons and among the very best weapons in the game for bringing the pain. Exile only. Oh, you're in the Exiled Lands. Well, shit. Moving on... Spears: Anything with bleed, disease, or poison. Damage is usually pretty close across the board with this lot so it's about the DoTs. Honorable mention to the Lifespike or whatever it's called for recovery. Bows: Lot of good ones. Anything over 30 damage and some armor pen. Power draw is nice to have for the Exile. Daggers: Zhaibar Knives and the one with gouge whose name I can't recall. They all stack bleeds so that's all good. Anything with extra DoTs is best. The gouge dagger is probably best overall. Two-handed axes: LoL. Two-handed maces: Eh. If you get something around 100 damage, give it to a thrall. They also make nice wall decorations. Two-handed swords: Pour one out for the Sword of Crom. Mastadon Blade is as close as we get these days. The Great Saber is a decent one and glows. Main thing is 80+ damage. Katanas: Most are good. Musashi's for raw damage, but I like the executioner one whose name I can't recall. Exile only. Throwing weapons: Mostly don't care. There's some decent throwing axes for offhand use, if that's your thing. To me these are farming weapons for a change of pace. Fun to use--if you can. The one instance where swords are better than axes when used with these. Javelins...no, just no. Terribly awkward animation. Qatars/Punch-daggers/whatever: There're some good ones, but I can't recall their names. Treat them like daggers, but slower animations and more damage. DoTs and more DoTs. There's one with armor ignore... Then in class of its own is the Lying Bastard Sword. Get the mod that allows shield use with it. 2h sword reach and damage with 1h axe animations? Yes, please.
The (new to exiled lands) curved slayer is also a great katana. Same stats as black blade except 3 damage less, but executioner effect. Can get it in silvermine from the undead boss, like the 1 from unnamed city for predatory blade.
Good to see Conan Exiles rise in popularity over the last couple years. One of my all time favorite games, started in 2019 and still in love with this masterpiece.
When i saw my thrall doesn’t deal any damage with sword of crom, i thought it was just another bug! 😅 This is exactly what i mean when i‘m saying FC should get the game consistent. But all they do is tweaking the old mechanics over and over, causing bugs and glitches in the process. It’s just confusing and tiring, we never know what’s a bug or what’s intentional. But thanks for the info Wak, at least i know the sword of crom isn’t bugged. 🤘
I mean thralls don't have stamina, a weapon like the sword of crom would be ridiculously overpowered on them, in fact it was when they were still allowed to use it
Thank you for this compilation of good legendary weapons :) My favorite weapon is the short sword which seems to be a very hard weapon to find as a legendary and while there is 1 in Exiled Lands named The Sword of Champions, it is in my opinion not worth farming for simply because how rare a drop it is, but definitely also because short swords lose durability much faster than most other weapons, and with a durability of just 900, it simply isn't worth it in my opinion so I mainly just use craftable short swords. Currently I am playing on Siptah which have been quite a shock to me, it feels like Siptah has been left behind compared to good weapons, we used to say that Siptah weapons were OP comparedd to EL weapons, but the changes to the weapon system has left me with a feeling that their weapons were nerfed too much, but I guess that since it is a dlc their focus is more on Exiled Lands which is a bit of a shame since it is actually a decent map to play as an alternative to EL, but the amount of rng and nerfs to things that made Siptah feel special has sort of turned it into a meh experience :)
My personal favorite is the Jedias (Jedi) great saber. Not only is it pretty powerful serves as a light source and has a cool lightsaber sound. Looks pretty awesome too.
I have been using Lloigor fang daggers 46 and 18 aromor pen but cause poison, and Black claws 52 and 9%. The black claws are found outside the den sitting on the bench by the fire next to the bearer thrall.
@truqzztv3848 It's better than the insane jumping bullshit the mace or some of the other swords do. The katana basic moves (not the magic special) seems to be the ONLY set where they did ANY RESEARCH in how the weapons are used.
Thaks WAK!! Im an axe kinda person .. not fond of 2 handed axes though .. my fav weapon is Axe of the Berserkers.. mostly cause i like the way it looks
@@user-Jim499 yea kinda.. but its easier to farm them from those triumvirate bosses in klael stronghold than hoping it in treasure box. Just hunt the 1st and 3rd. I usually avoid the 2nd 1 that drop book buff.

I am currently rocking Thrugs Scythe, high damage and cool looks. What is not to love, i am so glad i got this drop. My other favorite would have been Musashis which currently is beyond easy to get. I always grab it when i do the siege
perfected hardened steel daggers crafted by an edge smith and ugraded with the master weapon fitting have been treating me very well with my agility build.
I've been playing a new run on Siptah, I am very fond of the Minstrel's Song. Bleed on light hits and 2X bleed on heavy hits, and the added bonus is it's pretty easy to get.
A little off topic, but a weapon you SHOULD DEFINITELY get when restarting is the Relic Hunter Short sword...47 dmg crafted weapon (crafted with shaped wood, not a weapon handle and hardened steel) Was able to craft it once I got the Improved Blacksmith bench at lvl 30. With the loot changes, you can get your hands pretty easily on some hardened steel early in game, especially on Siptah. Improved dismantling bench helps a lot.
I am a newbie to Conan, found two Momentums in the nearest dungeon close to the river where I started out. Also found two spears ... Glaivans something.
Episode Idea: Best weapons (gear) for Thralls, single thrall vs. double thralls, melee vs. ranged, and the combinations there of. (Single thrall melee, Single thrall ranged, dual thralls melee & melee, dual melee & ranged, dual ranged & ranged.) Perhaps even an early game/ mid game/late game option, time permitting. Excellent video. I had been looking forward to this one . . . sufficient to say, great minds do indeed seem to think alike. lol
I've been looking for the best craftable spear to equip my purge fighters. I settled on the Ancient Lemurian Trident, so I am very interested in Wak's analysis on the subject.
I was hoping you were planning a video on best crafted weapons. I've taken to giving all the legendary weapons to thralls and using ones i can fix for me, although outfitting a large fighting force of thralls i had to equip a lot of them with stuff I could make. @wak4863
No bows in the list? :-) And since the daggers you highlighted aren’t your favorite, which set is? Historically, my favorite weapons were the ancient Lemurian war axe (or pre-nerf Yog’s Touch), venom-infused daggers, and Derketo’s Voice bow.
I like Katanas with Agi build a lot, if you do too don't overlook Graceful Night as it weighs only 1 pound, has good durability, and only a little less damage than Musashi's. It's also much easier to get (it drops off spider in The Dregs, 100% of the time I believe)
I mean I just got glimmer moon from the jhebaal sag dungeon I like it's sounds and that it could be used as a light source durability has been pretty good too
Best greatsword is annihilator (taking into account sword of crom limitations). Best shortsword has to be alligators Bite, basic damage is less than soc but bleed and gouging bypass armour, so for me, id choose Alligator bite. Best katana for high armoured enemies - blade of seven winds Love berserkers fistblades....its as if youre maxxing both agility and str when you use it. Also really like hanumans gada on a thrall
yeah Aligator Bite is better than Sword of Champions, but still not available in the Exiled Lands. I'm still rocking a crafted short sword from before the nerf with 69 base dmg simply because Sword of Champions only has 900 durability. Sword of the Seven Winds seems to lack actual bosses that have a lot of armor. 600 seems to be the most any boss ever has. Most have far less and it is more practical to just give your thrall a sunder weapon instead.
@@Raussl you are mostly correct except for arena champion - she has like 18000 something Armour. It's only one boss but you get a good feeling from defeating her - almost killed her with a weak Relic hunter TS using the seven winds, but then tried again with a full Agility black hand Pirate - destroyed her with some pots, buffs and healing
My favourite isn't listed. It's the Black Ice Broadsword. I don't remember the armour pen # but with a master damage kit it does 72 damage. That's if you have one already crafted from before the weapons were updated. If you go craft a new Black Ice Broadsword now it only does 36 I believe with that kit but if you already had one, it kept those original stats.
Musashi's Blackblade was my go to until they added The Curved Slayer to the Exiled Lands map. Slightly lower damage, but it has executioner, which is great for bosses.
I just use a star metal shortsword with armor pen attachment. I run two tralls. One with a great sword with armor pen attach, ent and the other with a great hammer with armor pen.
I think you can dual wield javelin when combined with a throwing axe. It's been awhile since I played, but I could swear I used to dual wield with throwing axes.
I'm going to have to go try for that short sword now. Side note, I haven't done enough experimenting with them but I have found daggers with the escalating effect and then applied a reinforcement to help with the low durability. I haven't been able to tell if they actually work though.
so now the lion axe can't deal heavy damage, i was wondering why my thrall were going from one shotting everything to not dealing any damage, well, best part of the axe was to give +5 strengh before the skills rework, so i guess its just kinda meh now.
See o found the first sword you went over ans was really excited I had like 15 in strength and got really let down when I tried to attack a low level enemy and my steel sword was doing more damage.....I ended up scraping it... Guess I need to go find it again
I recently switched to an agility build and the Berserker Fistblades are one of my go-to weapons. I'm gonna have to get to Al-Marayah soon. I forgot Mushashi's Black Blade was there. Thanks for the reminder, Wak!
Off topic, has anyone found a fix for the crashing bug while in combat. I crash so often I quit playing. Single player or dedicated server. Same result.
Thats lack of memory, not a glitch, ure either on slow internet or old console/rig, try fightin on places with less stuff around u, rp servers, low traffic servers or maybe an upgrade on your stuff should do it
If you're talking about the katana at al-Merayah, head south out of render distance. I travel back to The Summoning Place, then head back and by the time I get there, it has respawned. All my fighters carry that sword. 😁
Sword of Crom is an odd choice here, since you need max specced agility for rolling thrust, yet it is a strength based sword...sure you can skill both, but does that make sense considering all these alternatives? edit: and the durability of 450 is a joke.
I like how I've seen you using the katanas a lot lately. I've been a fan of them for a LONG time, and like that you have finally come to the dark side.....ahem....I mean you've come to see how good they are.
How is it click bait? The video hasn’t even come out yet. You watched a trailer for a premier. Look at your screen and see the area that says set a reminder.
@@wak4863 its click bait cuzz its titled "Weapons you should get in Conan Exiles 2024" as though its an actual video, it dont say preview or trailer anywhere UNTIL YOU CLICK ON IT.....making it the very definition f clickbait.
I remember hearing something about giving thralls some special equipment to bypass the fact that sword of Crom does no damage. I think it was the Scorpion cuirass, that removes poison when equipped on the exile, but I never got it to work. Without rolling thrust, sword of Crom is next to useless
