Hello everyone, hope you're all having a wonderful weekend so far:) I'm so excited to share today's video with you all. So many beautiful trends to take a look at and lots of wearable ways you can integrate them into your own outfits. Don't forget to open the chat on the right hand side of the screen where we can chat live. Maybe you've got a fashion question you need help with, or a special occasion you'd like my advise what to wear? I'm here to help:) Thanks so much for taking the time to join me today, I really hope you enjoy the video x
Hi Jess. Many of these trends are simply a huge no- no for me! Age definitely plays a part and I like to be seen as having some grace and style in my choices. I really dislike the notion of wearing labels and logos on the outside no matter how luxurious the designer. For me,that also includes sunglasses, handbags and jewellery. My lifestyle and budget is such that I prefer to spend money on lovely basics which will last more than one season.Colour and smaller, more affordable items can always add to an updated style. I loved the cream and white combination you were wearing and those simple, clean and minimal styles you model certainly get a huge tick from me! Thanks for this interesting video giving us some insight into what to expect this year. Take care 🥰❤️
Such a good point you bring up. I enjoy simplicity as well. I am so much more selective as I get older. And definitely prefer non trendy quality items that will outlast seasons and washes.
totally agree about the label-mania. Designers basically made it "the trend" for people to PAY to be walking billboards for the brand. They gift and/or pay celebrities to push the trend, knowing they'll be photographed and people will then emulate. In reality - wealthy people don't do brazen logo's. It's tacky ;-)
Ladies, you can do a mini with a pair of leggings or tights the same color. With boots or shoes in the same color. It can make you look taller and slimmer. I do that in winter especially. I’m 67 and that strapped stuff show too much crepey skin for me. Im big boobed so I have that extra thing to watch out for. I hear ya ladies about not dressing like a teenager. I have a friend who does in her 70s. Yikes! I like some of the trends and look for classics with a piece or two of trendy wear. Nothing wrong with a bright color for you to brighten the black, navy or whites.
I love the return to 90’s everything as a Generation X member it feels coming home. Long tube skirts and dresses, Platform everything , bootcut, lower rises… I’m in my glory 😁
I would encourage people to look for items they may already own that fit these trends or to only buy new items if the trend seems like something that matches your personal style and will can wearable for years to come! Even if the clothes are inexpensive, they take up space in your wardrobe and your life and $30 is still $30 you won’t get back if you bring an item home and only wear it once or twice while the trend is in its height ♥️
Hi Jess ... that was great ... loved it all , so nice to see all the comments and everyone so positive and lovely ... wasn’t going to buy anything but checked out the H&M check blazer and though the price is fab etc 🤣... so I ordered it ... in small so hopefully ok .. love .. Pauline xxx💋
Wasn't it lovely:) Just to be able to chat to everyone easily and watch the video together made it feel so much more inclusive. I bought that check blazer too hun, good choice! Enjoy the rest of the weekend lovely x
Love all white looks, oversize blazers and biker jackets. I'm a big fan of high Rise jeans so low-rise is a no from me. BTW I absolutely love sweater vests. You should try a neutral one over a button-down shirt with tailored trousers. Looks great. You might be pleasantly surprised. And it's easy to sling a blazer and/or coat on top without it being too bulky around the armpits and tight on the sleeves like a jumper might be with that many layers - so practical too. And your shirt sleeves don't get all creased!
That does sound a lovely outfit Justine, I shall have to give it a try. Maybe just the crop tops can stay in my ‘never ever’ pile 😉 Hope you’re having a good week so far and thanks again for watching x
New to this channel but addicted to styling videos and this is the best I’ve seen in years! So much content shared yet so well curated and researched with a mix of hi-lo, loved the pace and the presenter, tackling all the trends but with sensible advice for mere mortals to wear them - absolutely love! Thanks 🙏
Hi there, thank you so much for watching and what a lovely review😌 I’m really flattered and appreciate your kind words. It’s an absolute pleasure sharing really wearable style on YT and I feel very lucky to be able to talk about something I love for my job:) I’m looking forward to sharing lots more style ideas with you x
HI Jess, without even thinking, white on white/cream is always a go to! You made me love whites all year round. Tube dresses is something I'm going to look into, as they can be very versatile. Camel look was beautiful as well. The big logos and bling bling isn't for me. Minimal is where is my comfort zone! Lovely video as always! Btw, LOVE your hair! Hope you had a great weekend gorgeous! xxx
Thanks so much for letting me know your favourite trends Angela, i find it so interesting to hear not only what people love the best but also their reasonings why. I think a lot of my dislikes boil down to my own insecurities, women are strange aren't they haha! Have a great week lovely x
Loved this video, thank you! IMHO you nailed how to keep the newer trends like a mini skirt and cutouts elegant and sophisticated. For women of a certain age, it’s wonderful to be able to shop my own closet and find so many on-trend items even if they are rather vintage. 😉. Totally agree with renting and wouldn’t it be amazing if more designers and retailers offered that option. Really enjoy your inspiring content. 💕
Hello Jess! What a variety of fashion trends! Max Mara trousers are incredible! I love stripes, leather jackets, colour block and the most adorable jeans (bootcut jeans)!!!! Dear Jess thank you so much for one more amazing video, I wish you a lovely week, I will see you next sunday!!! 🧡
Thanks so much for letting me know your favourites Maria and I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed the video:) I'm not sure what's going on with the comments, I keep replying to people and they look like they're not showing up? So apologies if I'm replying twice, didn't want you to think I wasn't grateful x
@@FashionStyleEdit Dear Jess does not apologize, I would never think that way! I am grateful for your care and sympathie!!! Lovely week to you and until sunday!!! 🧡
Excellent video which kept my interest as all your descriptions were supported by fantastic cut aways. I’m making a list of updates for my wardrobe - thanks Jess 😊
I'm loving the fact that these micro mini skirts are back, they're so much fun. Even though I'm in my early 40s :) Totally with you re crop tops, fringe and vests. Btw your hair is absolutely incredible! So shiny and pretty.
Yay, glad you're excited about that trend Mia:) It sounds like the mini trend is either a love or hate trend judging from the comments! There's a stunning woman on Instagram called 'Grece Ghanem' who's possibly in her 60s and she's about the only person I've seen who looks amazing in a crop top! I can but dream to have abs like her haha! Happy Sunday lovely x
Really liked the way you talked through the trends like this. I like the white on white and the baggy trousers but these are things I would always wear. I try to only buy things for years to come and sometimes add a little fun thing to my closet.
The puff trend reminded me of a plaid puffy skirt I wore in the late '80s. I love the biker jacket and bootcut jean. I have a pear-shaped body, so I've always loved a trouser jean or bootcut jean over the skinny ones. I'm so glad they're back, but for me, it's a classic.
Thank you 😊 I really like bootcut denim with a pair of tan platform clogs the Michael Kors ones are pretty nice. Or a denim midi dress I love te one from Jigsaw.
Like it that u are realistic about what to wear for our age, see through, minis, midriff, no no, sad but true. Lucky ur skinny and tall, but for older petites a lot of the fashion trends don’t always look good on . Love your videos. Will try to do some of your ideas. Ur the best!
Thanks so much for getting in touch and I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the video:) I'm a firm believer in everyone wearing what makes them feel most comfortable, and sadly I think I would feel so out of place in some of the fashion trends we see coming through sometimes! I much prefer to have my own little take on them:) Happy weekend lovely and thanks again for watching x
Hello Jess, and everyone, thank you for another great video on spring fashion. I always love a great jean. Going to get a pair of the boyfriend and wear with my go to top, my white tee and blazer.
hi Jess, thanks - I do enjoy your bi-annual Trend Reviews ! This year I feel we're seeing some of them back WAY too fast - looking at you Gladiator Sandals. Maybe the nearly two years at home have distorted our sense of time. Anyway, I liked your stylings best of all ! You totally owned the biker jacket ensemble at 2.45. It has a "don't mess with me vibe". And I loved your androgynous styling of the loose black pants, with slouchy black jacket, and unbuttoned white shirt with crisp, frill trim. You looked beautiful, but comfortable as well. Your to-camera outfit also great. I think your expression of "French style" has gone next level !
Morning Kath, hope you're having a lovely weekend hun:) You're so right, the trends feel like they've come around again way too quickly, and some never even went away at all! Maybe that's the designers being kind on us after the pandemic, at least we all have some of the styles in our wardrobe already! And thanks so much for your comment about my own outfits, you know I love French style so much so that compliment makes me very happy:) Happy Sunday Kath x
@@FashionStyleEdit LOL about the 2022 trends that never departed. With your closer-to-natural hair colour Jess, I realised - of course - your look echoes Jane Birkin's two daughters who have public lives, in the arts. Charlotte Gainsbourg and Lou Doillon. Same willowy figures. I enjoyed Charlotte in the French film where she plays a "hire-a-girlfriend" for a conservative guy, not her type, just so his family get off his case about still being single. Maybe seven or eight years ago 🎥
Hi Jess, oh think this was one of my favourite videos, I am with you I will be swerving a few of these 😂😂😂…Love the puff ball dresses and who doesn’t love white on white…You don’t need an excuse to wear sparkles, I wear my Whistles sequin skirt to work with a slouchy cream knit and boots 😜…Some really exciting fashion for 2022, I am going to add in some really bright colours this year, love the coral suit 🥰 Happy Sunday lovely xxx
So happy to hear you enjoyed it Shelley, thanks so much for letting me know😘 Lots of exciting trends to get into this year and hopefully even more places we can wear them🙌🏻 X
Hello!!! I love all your videos !!! And you look so beautiful with your new hair . I would love to know bout how you change it and why do you decided to change it ? You look stunning !! You choose the right color and length!! I would love to hear . Many blessings!!
Hi Janeth, thanks so much for getting in touch:) The truth is for two reasons really. Firstly I'm incredibly indecisive when it comes to my hair, and probably far too spontaneous too! I didn't know I was going to go back to brown until I sat in the hairdressers chair! Secondly, I've been highlighting my hair for many years so it was a little damaged, I thought it could do with a rest. I am thinking about going blonde again for Summer, then maybe brunette again for Winter. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend Janeth and thanks again for your kindness x
Hi Jess. Thanks for that. Hmm, not fond of boot cut jeans, for lower waist I might go for a looser boyfriend jeans, but I prefer a relaxed skinny or straight jean. Stripes I've got in my wardrobe, I've got a couple of semi opaque bits in my wardrobe. Ive got some some slightly wedgy platform sandals in my wardrobe. I've got a dog so all white will only be for holidays. X
Sounds like you're pretty much sorted then for the season ahead:) Thanks so much for letting me know your favourite trends Zena, I' really looking forward to seeing how I can introduce these ideas into my own wardrobe x
Hi Jess!! Thank you for this video (watching it quite late now). Lovely picks from fashion trends. I dont do mini's and logos... just... no. But loved maxis and gladiator sandals :)
I’m new to your channel. I enjoy watching many videos on fashion and I’m so thrilled to have find yours. So simple yet very elegantly worn. Many questions have been answered. You have inspired me in getting out of my comfort zone. I have recently lost almost 100 lbs and feel like I can try some other styles. But I’m still not feeling the tucked in shirts, or tops. My lower belly is still a conscious statement for me. Just a 5’2”, 60 year old women, trying to keep it simple and elegant . But I do have to admit that the monochromatic look does fit me well with layering a long cardigan over it as well as a blazer. I also would like to wear trousers, but I feel that they give the elusion that I’m still heavy. I have an hour glass body frame. What do you recommend? Thank you in advance.
Love the edit Jess ❤️ I am so into the tube dresses, got my hands with the COS ones, and I just love them, been wearing them in winter too!!! Happy Sunday
Oh I'm so happy to hear you love it too:) I thought that one is beautiful quality. I'm so pleased you liked the video too, lots off fun trends for us to try out this season. Have a wonderful rest of the week lovely x
Hell to the no to low rise, that perpetual anxious feeling that ones trousers are about to slip down, nope. I found my denim jacket in my 20s, hoping to find my leather jacket before I reach my 30s
loved the video and have subscribed. i love stripes and wearing white and am so happy that low riders are back in fashion. thankyou for the video and for letting us know what we should be wearing. however at 64 years old, i think the mini will pass me by x
Hi Jess! Happy 2022! Great Video;thank u so much! A Wonderful Variety of trends and a Fantastic editing ; Congrats! Loved almost all the selections ; particularly all your looks ; looking really good! Please keep up the good work!! Cant wait to wear most of them! Take care Big Hug😉 Teresa
Thank you so much for your kind words Teresa 🙏 And I’m happy to hear it gave you a bit of inspo for the season ahead. Not all the trends will be for everyone of course but it’s handy to have them in the back of your mind x
Watching this 4 days later but I wouldn't miss it! Great job on this report. Some trends are surprising. Gladiator sandals? again? just Wow. Maxis, yes! my resolution, to wear maxis this summer. I'm looking forward to wearing those boot cut jeans and pant suits again. Love platforms too! Thanks Jess!
Hello Jess! Happy New year! I’d love the “all white” and “all colour” trend and the stripes of course!!! Not sure about al the others, surely not minis, fringes and sequins 🙃
Great video, thank you! Love the tube dress trend. I already have the Wolford (strapless) one, in dark grey. I would really recommend that one. So comfortable and you can wear it 3ways. I wore it through winter with a big jumper, in spring with a blazer, in summer over my bikini... Love pieces that you can wear a lot :-)
Love this style of video! Enjoyed the trends topic and the photos. Thanks so much for providing entertainment and inspiration for my morning coffee time.
Hi Jess, I love the brunette haircolour on you. Is that your natural colour? I thrifted a leather biker jacket and have yet to wear it, so I'm happy to hear it's on trend. I'm not able to wear several of the trends at 65, but that's ok. Thanks for posting...I enjoyed watching.
Hi Shirley, it is yes:) Well naturally possibly a little bit lighter but near enough ☺️ Fab news you found a biker jacket, I love imagining the stories thrifter pieces could tell! And they go with just about everything 👌🏻
That's so kind of you to say:) I keep meaning to film a new hair video, it's on my list so hopefully in the next few weeks. In all honesty though I don't use a lot of products. I tend to spend a bit more than before on really nice shampoo's, conditioners and sometimes use a mask. I'm on a mission to try and get the condition as good as possible:) Have a wonderful rest of the week lovely x
Great video, thank you! So many wearable trends, a couple I’ll be avoiding but it’s so nice to see the 90’s minimalist vibe coming in. I have to admit, the ditsy print, frilly tiered trend just wasn’t my bag. Don’t scold me! I am 5’9 and tried it but it felt all wrong on my frame. Boot cut jeans & platforms all the way for me! Xx
Yay! Glad to hear you're excited about the new trends, there's some exciting ones in there. 5'9 with your platforms and bootcut jeans, supermodel in the making there:) x
Hi jess. I do agree with a lot of trends you have talked about today video. But I do agree with you on the cropped tops. Not my style. It's not the cute thing on me. But now legs are beautiful on me. I am happy to show off. 😀 lot's if beautiful things too work with year in fashion for me. I will be shopping my closet more often year than buying. What I am loving year.
Thanks dear Jess, I enjoyed the video a lot. I must say I missed your videos between Christmas and New Year break. I am glad you are back! Have a great week.
Aww that's so nice to hear thank you Shital:) The break did me good, but I'm so ready to be back and excited to get stuck into Spring Summer. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend x
