The purpose of my channel is to document my cancer journey to look back on, and/or help anyone else going through anything similar. It is also to potentially help loved ones supporting those who are in this fight as well. This is also an easy way to update a lot of people at once. My main goal is to have footage of this journey for my husband and children to look back on. I originally created this channel as a sort of video diary for my
family.
Thank you so much for following along on this journey. Your love and support help me so much.

My husband passed away 3 yrs ago Nov 22 of this yr. I still wear my wedding ring. As far as I am concerned I am still his wife and he is my husband. You should wear your ring as long as YOU want/need to. There is no right or wrong. It always amazes me how many people think it is ok to even ask that question.

My husband and I were married 73 years before he passed away. We were high school sweethearts so we actually had 75 years when he passed. I took his wedding ring and had it sized so I could wear it with my wedding band, that way he is always with me along in my heart. I am Almost 95 years old and not looking for a replacement so I will continue to wear the rings until I die.

I'm not even close to my 90's, I'll be 54 on September 30th and I'm not looking for a "replacement" either ❤, BTW I love it that you called it that. My husband died in 2017, so 7 1/2 years ago. He's now been gone longer than we were together. He had already been diagnosed with a "terminal" disease when we got together in 2010 so I knew that I was going to outlive him from the start. Even though we only had 7 years together, I still miss him every single day.

You said today's topic may only relate to someone who lost a spouse, but your message resonates beyond that. I lost a dog, but he was the love of my life. He was my son. When people ask you when you are taking the ring off, it is very similar to when people ask me when I'm getting another dog. It angers me because it diminishes how special and loved my dog was (is) and that these people seem to suggest that he is replaceable. It's a rude and insensitive comment. Your ring is your forever love for Jenny, your happiness, what feels like home, a beautiful era. You can keep that ring on forever if you want.

You and Jenny have a bond in marriage, you wear your ring as long as you want. People have no right to tell you that you shouldn’t wear it. It’s a symbol of love, it may even bring you comfort to feel it during hard times. Your heart tells you what you need and if it is saying to keep it on then you keep it on.

There's no "right" or "wrong" answer with these things. It's your ring, your marriage, your life, and your grief. Do what feels right to you, and if that changes at some point, that's okay too. My dad passed about a week after Jenny. My parents were never big on wearing their wedding rings. But my mom got a new ring a few months ago that has symbolism to her of being a widow and she wears it like a wedding ring. Everyone's different, it's about what feels best to YOU.

Kyle, next month will be 16 years since I lost my husband. Wearing your ring is absolutely personal choice. You will know when you are ready. For me it was 2 years. I realized it was causing me more depression and sadness than comfort. I did replace it with a different style ring because after 39 years that finger felt 'empty'. It was the right choice for me, but yes, it is each person's choice and feelings that will let you know when it's time. You are 'pre-grieving' this first Angelversary. I think all of us do . Everything is hitting you harder right now , and that too is normal. HUGS Grief is an evil, sneaky , monster.

My husband died 10 years ago and I still wear my wedding ring most of the time. It has been a long time and I have dated and have even had a couple of serious relationships. My wedding ring is a part of me and my life’s history. Sometimes I wear it on my right hand, sometimes on my left hand. It is a part of me and I will always greave my husband’s passing. Grief has so many stages. The love never goes away so why would the grief? As the years go by you will deal with Jenny’s loss in many different ways. Jenny wanted you to eventually find someone to grow old with and I have no doubt that you will because you have shown all of us how loving and kind you are. Loss and the grief that comes with it takes time and it’s different for everyone. If wearing your wedding ring gives you peace and comfort then wear it proudly. There are no rules or right answers. We all lost Jenny so can understand in a small way what you are living with. Time does heal but the amount of time has no definition. ❤️

I’m coming up on three years of being a widow in November. I still wear my rings and also my husband had never taken his off since I put it on his finger at our wedding. We were married 52 years. I felt like since he chose to never ever remove it, I was not going to decide that for him, so he is buried with his wedding ring on and that makes me feel good. I love your videos. God bless you!

Hi Kyle, I lost my husband of 32 yrs of marriage on 11/26/2024 following a battle with dementia & cancer. I'm still riding the waves of grief and I too continue to wear my wedding ring. Grief is the hardest thing and some days/nights are rough but I carry on because I need to remember and honor my husband and our life together. Please keep posting..this video has helped me realize my feelings are valid. Wishing you peace❤

Kyle you owe no one an answer. There is nothing wrong with wearing your wedding ring after your spouse’s passing. You are still grieving and when the time is right you will know. So sorry people feel they have to ask you this question. You do what is right for you. My heart goes out to you. My daughter lost her husband 2 1/2 years ago. He was 45 when he passed. She is just beginning to come out of grief but it has been hard. Just remember a brighter day will come.

My husband of 53 years died over two years ago. I still wear my wedding ring. I have no plans to take it off. He is still my husband to me. I don’t want another one. Many people have said really ignorant things. It doesn’t make me angry. I know they don’t understand. Please do whatever you need to do. That is what I do. I was with him my entire life. We met when I was 19. None of our past together went away when he died. Our children are still trying to cope from day to day. We are all struggling. I wish you had had more time with Jenny. No amount of time is really enough. Please know that you are not alone in your grief. There are many of us out here who know exactly what you are going through. I am so sorry that this happened to you, Jenny and your children. No one can decide how you feel or should feel. There is no right answer to anything you do. It breaks my heart to see your pain.

That ring is a symbol of the love you had for Jen. It's nobody's business. You are still grieving your loss. I am grieving the loss of my husband almost 3 months. It's just a really sucky place to be. I am not ready to say goodbye either.

My husband passed away 2 months before Jenny due to cancer as well. My wedding ring is still on my finger, and it will remain there. It's a personal decision that each of us must make. It's more than just a piece of jewelry. Kyle when the right time comes you will know. People are way out of line for even asking that question 😒

My husband passed almost 4 years ago now. I wear my ring every day. People have asked me why I still wear it. I say "because I'm still married"! My husband is not here now but I am still very married to him! It still brings me comfort every day and it keeps me feeling close to him. If I ever take it off it will be when I think I am ready. Don't let anyone make you question wearing your ring. It connects you to Jenny still. Blessings to you and your children Kyle.

I’m screenshotting this for my 15 year old son to read. He loves hearing about real life high school sweethearts - he recently acquired his first girlfriend and they’re quite close, both thinking they’ll get married one day… of course the chances are slim but I just say “of course you can get married someday, plenty of people marry their HS sweethearts.” I try to encourage whatever positive feelings he has, far-flung or not. Thanks for sharing this 🩷

Grief is very individual. My son died suddenly in June this year, from two undiagnosed medical conditions. My grief is crushing. My home is dedicated to him for as long as I want it to be. You, Kyle, grieve in your own way and time, and that is 100 percent ok!❤
