DISCLAIMER: I am not paid to promote any specific products or brands; I just use the products I find work best for me through my experiences. There is no reason for me to promote a bad product, as then I would not enjoy using it, not like the result on my model, and not be proud of publicizing it in a video. There's also no point in me doing this to keep up relations with a company if the only benefit would be getting more of the same products that I didn't like. I have not used every product out there, but from what I have used, I keep using the products I like, and that's why I use them in my videos. You can use whatever other products you would like to and you can feel that they are better - that is your opinion, and is perfectly fine by me, thus I hope that feeling is reciprocated.

Looks like Wilder is out of business. Any suggestions for a substitute product?
@Panzermeister36
@Panzermeister36 2 года назад
AK interactive makes acrylic mud textures, enamels, pigments, and oils equivalent to the Wilder lines. Their pigments and oils are under the 502 Abteilung brand, but that's still AK.

The tiger looks awesome. I really liked how you only used a few products to get awesome looking results. There are so many products now it gets hard to decide which ones to buy, and what techniques to use. You always explain, and demonstrate the products ,and techniques very well. Great job can't wait to see what's next.

I can't be sad because you finished such a gorgeous project. I get excited because that means something new is in the making. Thanks for sharing this awesome build series. Also, I have had issues blackening white metal after a good detergent scrub, which still left spots if bare metal.. acetone fixed that problem and actually helped the fluid work faster.
@Panzermeister36

I heard people recommend acetone but I don't have any one hand and I can't get any at the moment :)

All the mud and gunk looks awesome and you achieved this with just a few materials and techniques. One thing I have to give a try are burnishing fluids. Like your results there very much!

I think this is an amazing example of a Tiger. If mine were half as good as this, I'd be well pleased. Top work, and a top set of vids. Really great series.

Great build!!! It has been an awesome ride!! Looking forward to seeing next week's video too :D I really like the grass and wet textures with the minimalist product approach. An important lesson for many new hobbyists (scale modelers, or any other hobby truthfully) is that of mastering the basics! Too many beginners think "oh sure I could do that too- if only I had the right paint color, or the right brush, or the full product line from so-and-so's brand - my younger self included. No need to buy the whole hobby store, and certainly not right off the bat. Do other products help? Sure, but they only modify the basics. Maybe save time, maybe add a new twist- but they don't help by creating shortcuts to get around learning and implementing the basic techniques.

Great results, and as a returnee to modelling, I'm picking up some very useful tips from your channel - thanks! Could you perhaps do a video on painting one-piece rubber tracks (1/72)? Can't find one anywhere! Regards, Paul

Just getting into armor modeling and have perused every post you've made! Great stuff and I thank you for your dedication to the hobby and providing such a great resource. You have been an inspiration. I just completed my first armor build, Dragon 6954, Panzer III Ausf. J. I would like to get involved with a good forum or similar setting where I can post my builds and learn from other folks. I tried posting on one site and the response and ease of posting images has been less than impressive! Could you recommend a site for the serious modeler and german armor researcher that welcomes build posts. I have been doing HOn3 fine scale structure modeling (mostly SierraWest Scale Model Kits) for a number of years. Keep up the channel...invaluable and very well done...Ken

Best bet is that one of the tracks are JS/IS 2 or KV1 tracks and the second pair I seriously have no idea, Looks like a Frankenstein mix between a pair of T34 and Sherman tracks haha
@mikulas979
@mikulas979 4 года назад
Easy Eight (or other late Sherman) and KV coming! Where can ppl get those “pin heads” you have in there? Is it whole rod with head which connects tracks or just small part with “pinhead” and then wire in tracks? Very smooth finish with this project. Looks really nice, no effect overdone (maybe just too much grease and oil on engine deck but thats just my personal point of view). Every part and effect fits with the tank as whole unit, nothing “jumps out” unnaturally. Congratulations and carry on!
@Panzermeister36
@Panzermeister36 4 года назад
Yes, you have a good eye :) The pins I used are R-model track pins so they have excellent pin head detail. They make tracks and track pins...but they are made in China so it might be difficult to order them at the moment.
@mikulas979
@mikulas979 4 года назад
Those definitely look far more better than wire. Do you need to redrill the holes because of different diameter?
@Panzermeister36
@Panzermeister36 4 года назад
Nope, I just jammed them in :) the pins work better when used with R-Model's own tracks...which are better molded that Friulmodel tracks actually.
@mikulas979

Hmm, will have to get hands on those R-model one day... I just have some Friulmodel and AK. Anyway I look forward Sherm and KV ;)

Do you think that all the pigments, grass, and mud effects would stay on an rc tank
@Panzermeister36
@Panzermeister36 4 года назад
I'm honestly not sure. I haven't built an RC tank before. I think it would wear off the tracks eventually, but it should stay on the wheels if you fix it with matte vanish or some pigment fixer.
@noaholdham4629
@noaholdham4629 4 года назад
Panzermeister36 Thank you, and I think you should do one some time. I started using weathering methods from your channel on my tank and it looks great, but it looks even better when it’s moving. If you were to do something like that, I suggest that you get an rc tank from the company Heng Long because all of their tanks come relatively stock with either a solid base color or a simple camouflage pattern

I don't know if it's the COVID19 effect or something else but ... Have you seen the prices of the friullmodel tracks currently? I was hoping to buy some this month (I need for the Sturer Emil), but it looks like I'm going to have to wait for the vaccine.
