It's rough trying to survive in the Metroid universe when Samus is busy.

I didn't originally intend to split this animation into parts, but it was taking too long to finish. I didn't want to go half a year without uploading. I'll take a break from this and come back when I've figured out how I want the fight to play out. Feel free to leave ideas or suggestions for part 2 in the comments.

This is sick! This has to be the most love Prime Hunters has received in the last ten years. I've been trying to write Weavel as a character into a Metroid-themed story and this reminded me how cool he is. Spire's appearance at the end is great too. Amazing work as usual!

weavel is a female space pirate I believe, and was one of the pirates injured by samus in zero mission

@@DropkickNation personal headcannon as to why Spire attacks you on Alinos. Weavel lied and talk him into doing it. Kind of how Eggman lied to knuckles about Sonic.

The Samus/Spire/Noxus trio has so much potential for the future of the series. They could easily make a Star Wars: Republic Commando-type game with those 3 and Anthony Higgs.

That’s what I’m hoping for. The phazon threat is officially over so it’d be so good to have more content about the Prime Hunters, we already know Sylux will play a part in it so it’s not a stretch to hope that the other hunters get some action, screen time and more developed character

@@caraprism9074thing is though it's still called prime, the trilogy all featured metroid prime via dark Samus. If this one really had nothing to do with it I think they'd call it something else, even with branding in mind. Could be something like the federation is trying to make their own metroid prime artificially to use it as an energy source, but I think it will feature in one way or another

I didn’t know their were assets for a gf trooper in Prime Hunters aside from the CGI models in the intro cutscene! Also love seeing Spire as a hero!

The GF trooper model here is actually an edit I made of the model from Metroid Prime 2. I tried my best to make it fit the lowpoly NDS aesthetic

i discovered your channel recently, and was thinking "this is peak metroid content, but i wish there was something from prime hunters, i almost never find anyone else who loves that game." then i see this, and it's the greatest work of fan content for the game i think i've ever seen. AND IT USES ZERO MISSION MUSIC, HOW DID YOU GET _EVERYTHING_ RIGHT? i'm really excited to see this continued.

Thanks. It was fun to make. It was probably the most time I spent animating one video, but unfortunately it didn't get much attention. MPH is a pretty niche game these days. That being said, I definitely still want to revisit this and make more content with the other hunters. By then I'll have more animation practice, so it should be even better when I do get around to it. :)

I wish we would see more of the kriken empire. The players fights with trace are the only times we actually engage them.

Who knows, with Metroid Prime 4 Beyond bringing back sylux, maybe it can expand a bit on the prime canon and open up doors to see more hunters content.

Metroid Prime Hunters is one of those games that deserves a remake it will definitely never get, because the reviewers were too harsh on the stylus-based aim, and Nintendo is nothing if not mortally terrified of retreading old ground if it's not Mario.

I extracted them from MPH using MPHread. Re-rigged with Mixamo, then did some manual weight painting and additional tweaks like Weavel's blade.

If you used Alt-form playing as weavel, you were reduced to a melee-attack that uses the sword.

Hi Hunter, I was wondering if you could answer this question for me. I have been playing with 3D models, animations and textures in toolbox switch, I understand that you use blender 3D, but I was wondering if you have ever imported/replaced a file and you got an error called "assimp exception" I haven't solved it for days, I'm so desperate that I came here to ask you for help XD lol

This is really awesome, sure by today 8-bit is outdated but it has its charm, and the models look fantastic! Weavel especially looks baller, actually, it may just be me but he seems more top heavy then what I remember.
