This presentation is from September 2013 Strange Loop conference. In February 2014, in a post "So what's happening with Pedestal 0.3.0?" it was announced that React changed everything and Pedestal's frontend is no more developed. Only Pedestal's backend service is still maintained. Nowadays the de facto CLJS frontend library is Reagent. Possibly also re-frame, though personally I find it too complex for most apps and prefer just Reagent atoms.
i believe after a year or 2 this video will be viewed million times.. i have a question though, Is clojure worth learning??? and would you give me tips what should i learn first to master clojure.
Hi, if you want to have the true power of programming to solve real problem, Clojure is the best out there, even if you dont use Clojure seriously, learning it by listen to the Great people who build Clojure like Rich Hickey, Stuart Halloway... Try your best to dig/understand the problem in the field of software, know how Clojure solve it, learn how to design and build system in the Clojure way, even though you done little coding, I can sure you have the ability to beat the average. Clojure is Lisp on Jvm, so at least, you should know what is the Roots of Lisp(www.paulgraham.com/rootsoflisp.html), and some Java background is also good. Especially know some of traditional C family language (Java/C#/C++/Javascript/Python), because if you know what's bad, you know what's better more deeply, if you know what's better, you know what's bad deeply(vice versa).
