Man I remember playing this game nonstop. I loved everything. The combat, the story, and the black suit powers. All of it felt so similar to prototype(Well minus the intense brutality). This game is a gem and I’m so glad that Spiderman 2 PS5 will be doing the same thing with the suit.

@@JohnVmc2The best part of the game is the very start when you think the gameplay will be deeper than it actually is. That's an issue with a majority of PlayStations bigger games. Way too much of the gameplay is simplified and automated. Even the games with deeper gameplay are pale imitations of their former selves. Looking at you God of War.

When I was younger my dad would play this game and let me watch, I use to be terrified of Venom and everytime he was in screen I would watch my dad beat up venom and use lame jokes. An absolutely amazing game with even better memories

One thing I loved doing was switching between red and the black suits mid-combat, if you did that you'd also switch to the combat combos of the respective suits

This was such a good game. The choices and different play-styles really worked. They put a lot of effort into it. Some crazy moments (especially when you make the "bad choices").

Throwing vehicles, saves civilians mid air create a parachute to land safe, wall combat...this was and still is the best Spider-Man game so far.

Yeah I wouldn't say amazing at all. Its a very simple "black and white" system. Pick this option if you want to be good, pick this option if you want to be bad, for me that's really mediocre. But I do give it props for actually sticking to an evil playthrough

Best gameplay of any Spider-Man game still in the sense that you can literally do anything Spider-Man should be able to do. Insomniac should definitely add more flavor into their Spider-Man style it’s way too normal.

Issue with Insomniacs swinging is that it feels way too floaty. Because you literally are. Web goes tight immediately and you start hovering. Hell, if you swing low enough you see Peter or Miles Bob up and down. You can actually see it if you press R2 slowly. Also just plain super shallow. OBJECTIVELY some of the shallowest the IP has ever had. You can climb the webs, wrap around poles with them, sling shot your self, do full 360s, your feet actually touch the ground or you run along buildings if you are too close to them, just plain do significantly more. Also, you can actually mess up plus fall damage. Makes those tricks way more impressive because we all know it takes skill to pull them off.

Web of shadows was basically like the RDR2 of Spider-Man games. Not only was the gameplay fun but you even got to make good or bad choices and if you mix it up it gives you 4 different endings. The only thing i didn't like was the combat was kind of limited in terms of combos. Other than that I love web of shadows, even the ps2 version wasn't that bad.

Idk, I still think this has the best combat in the series so far. Swinging can go to either, I like WOS more because it could get ridiculously fast once you get used to the physics and you level up using tokens
