Me too, he was such a big part of our childhoods & our 1980's. Utmost respect for this man & his kids that we got to see grow up. I remember the feeling back when he made Black Eagle alongside somewhat newcomer at the time Van Damme & it was Sho that was the far bigger star & we were all like, who's this Van Damme guy? Sho's gonna kick his ass lol.

Ninja posters all over my wall when I was a kid, all because of Sensei Sho Kosugi. Back then, I studied and became fluent in the Japanese language and studied Karate-do too because of Ninjitsu. I was even a Ninja for every Halloween until I got too old to go trick-or-treating. Thank you, Sensei Sho Kosugi, for inspiring so many youth who could find courage, determination and self-esteem through your movies and the study of martial arts, especially its code of ethics. 小杉先生ありがとうございます。

Sho Kosugi was what started it all for me. 30 years later, here I am, a fifth degree ninja. Don’t regret nothing. One thing I loved about Sho’s movies was that he did get hurt in his movies. Determination through pain.

LOVE Sho Kosugi!! He was a big part of my childhood. Every Halloween I was a ninja. I still watch Revenge of the Ninja and Ninja 3 the Domination. Both movies will ALWAYS be in my collection of favorites. I think Sho should do a remake of Revenge of the Ninja but only if he has a lot to do with the movie. Gotta find the right guy. Rain was pretty good.

I grew up watching all of his movie's and his Ninja skills and martial Arts is what inspired me to training in the Ninjitsu style and while I was still very young in the U.S. MILITARY I would go out on the military bases fields and mimick and re- illustrate every fight scene that he was in and even to this day I still follow the ways of his Ninja teaching, he will always be the true Sensei/Master Sho. Thank you for inspiring peoples like me, Master Sho.

Sho Kosugi single-handedly made the Ninja popular in every way and is solely responsible for the huge success of Ninja movies in the 80's and 90's. When anyone says "Ninja" everyone thinks of Sho Kosugi. He is the reason I started studying Ninjutsu in 1984 at age 10 (started the martial arts at age 7) after seeing my favorite TV show "The Master" which was way too short of a series, and all of his films as well and I am still going strong today because of these films. I was also inspired by Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee followed by Van Damme, Steven Seagal, Jeff speakman and many others as well. But Bruce, Chuck, and Sho inspired me the most back when I started in the early 80's and still inspire and motivate me today.

Sho will ALWAYS be the Quintessential NINJA - he isn't just the Greatest ninja ever...he created the "Ninja" Archetype itself. Sure the idea of ninja existed long before...but historically ninja are not well known...he combined elements from his martial arts and the warrior spirit of the samurai and mixed in some super badass abilities and the world was in awe!!! I will never forget watching Revenge of Ninja when I was 7 years old. My family was to poor to afford cable so my friend had recorded it from cable and let me borrow the tape. I couldn't tell you how many times I watched that movie from the age of 7 to 10...Literally 100s of times. I begged and pleaded for my mom to buy me a ninja suit and after a year I finally got a fairly authentic one down in China Town...even had the tabi shoes. I practiced with my wooded boken for hours in our backyard till I had blisters on my hand. In my mind I was a ninja...and I'm sure there's lots of guys in their 40s right now that were doing the same thing! Lol Sho was my biggest hero...and because of him - I [secretly] still want to be a ninja when I grow up! Lol Here's to you Sho! Your Biggest Fan! - David D.

The host looks like one of the Red ninjas in Enter The Ninja, the one in the beginning around 12:50 (min/sec) with the big slash across his face, seen when all the ninjas assemble together before the "beheaded" master who asks Cole to show him the Nine Levels of Ninja Power. Besides Franco and Sho, he's the only one of the red ninjas who removes his head cover.

True Story Great place to tell it Short version Growing up like most of you in the 80s My brother and I loved his movies mimicking his moves taking lessons Many years later As a struggling actor working as a gymnastics instructor working with special needs children and training as an assistant to a great stunt man and martial arts teacher After some time I happened to be dropping off a script and noticed Kosugi Office in the same building. OMG I was shocked it couldnt be I figured go check it out I did It was him right there in his office 2 months later on a plane on my way to Japan to study train and instructor for gymnastics acting English singing and dance I was trained in several martial Arts learning things I couldnt possible imagine gaining a concept and goals for my self I was trained worked for studied from living in his school working at the school. I loved it so much. His assistant instructors master Okada James He and so many others were amazing people Thank you master Sho for the life experience and thank you to your family amd staff for that wonderful time in my life 2000-2001 SKI Tokyo Japan Ross Strauss PS. No harm no regrets. Pretty sure Master Sho never liked me. He was usually quite angry and said some pretty hurtful things but im so glad he did and wouldnt change it for the world Because of this experience ive open my own gym/school that is doing splendidly ✌
