Great thanks for sharing. I just bought the new Weboost and was planning to run the cable down the A frame into the engine bay and through the firewall. Your install is easier. Never new there was a vent behind the seats of the Ram.

Yep, All vehicles are equipped with these vents. Most passenger cars and SUV’s are located between the body and the rear bumper. Trucks are all located in the same spot, on the back of the cab. Glad we could help and enjoy your weBoost!

Great video! I have a question for you. After installing your interior antenna by the head interior light, how was your reception? Asking because I seen a couple of videos stating that you have to keep your cellphone real close to the interior antenna in order to get the best cellphone reception?
@FamilyAdventuresOverlanding
Correct, for the best reception possible, you want your phone to be as close as possible to the antenna. We have it mounted by the light because it is the most central location in the cab of the truck for all four of us to use. The 5G is able to support multiple devices at one time and this is one of the reasons we chose it. We’ve only ran into an issue once or twice where we found it necessary to turn off the cellular on the other phones so one phone could benefit from the booster. Those were times where we had very little reception/signal strength and needed it for navigation purposes. Hope that answered your question. Thanks for watching!

Hey thanks for the video. I've got an AT Habitat as well and I'm curious what type of rack do you have mounted to the side of it? And what kind of boxes are mounted to the rack? It looks great!

The boxes on the sides and on the roof rack are all Apache rifle cases from Harbor Freight. They’re water tight and lockable. I felt less guilty about drilling through them then I did about pelicans. The rails on the sides are aluminum L-track (aircraft style) from US cargo control. There are two mounted on each side and the mirror image on the inside of the camper. This allowed me to through bolt the rails and sandwich the camper walls for maximum strength. I applied sealant to the exterior rails to prevent water intrusion into the walls. I have attached links to both products below. Here’s the link for the boxes: www.harborfreight.com/search?q=Rifle%20case Here’s the link for the rails: www.uscargocontrol.com/products/aircraft-style-seat-track-6-ft?_gl=1*5zvx91*_ga*NTk5ODAzMjAwLjE2NjI4MTQ2MDg.*_ga_0F1YK18B5L*MTY2MjgxNDYwOC4xLjAuMTY2MjgxNDYwOC42MC4wLjA.

Did you have to register this with your cell phone provider in order for it to work?
@FamilyAdventuresOverlanding
@FamilyAdventuresOverlanding 2 года назад
No. It does not need to be registered with anyone. It’s just a booster, so it doesn’t use a SIM card or talk to the towers.

Hi there! Hoping you might be able to help with my Weboost? It works great but as you know, you can't go more than a few feet from the interior antenna or it will stop working. We use our Weboost mainly at our cabin. Do you know if it is possible to set up either a router or a repeater type system with the Weboost in order to get more distance from the interior antenna? Thank much for any info you can share. Rich W.

You could definitely use the weBoost in conjunction with a SIM enabled router or a MiFi. Then use your phones purely on WiFi. We know a few people that have done this quite successfully. They placed their router/MiFi right next to the interior antenna so it had the strongest signal possible. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

@@FamilyAdventuresOverlanding Was hoping some type of repeater system can be used to avoid paying for the SIM-type system. Looks like I'll still need to do a bit more research on this. Thanks for the info!

Do you happen to know how long the cables are on the antenna as well as the interior antenna.
@FamilyAdventuresOverlanding
@FamilyAdventuresOverlanding 2 года назад
The exterior antenna cable is around 16’. The interior one is around 8’. These are approximates as I have it installed in my truck and cannot get an exact measurement.

WoW! 50db gain! Gain over what? FCC gain limited? I can't find that rule, please help.
@FamilyAdventuresOverlanding
@FamilyAdventuresOverlanding 3 года назад
The Drive Reach OTR and Drive Reach RV boast uplink output power capabilities of 29.5 dBm and 50 dB gain - the maximum allowable gain under Federal Communications Commission (FCC) standards.

Most cell boosters are limited to between 64 dB and 72 dB gain by the FCC, however, single-carrier devices can amplify signal by up to 100 dB

Your not supposed to put blue loctite on plastic its going to degrade the plastic and it makes that point a weak spot prone to failure
