Okay but who else wants that one-handed cheese slicer? 😂 Hope you guys found this video helpful, I definitely added some items Susan suggested after we filmed this.
I agree! It's so weird to request such expensive items for other people to get you which, as Susan said, she wouldn't personally chip in to get herself, like the Dyson. This sounds super cheap of her and cheeky towards the guests. I think wedding registries are so unnecessary, especially if you have lived together for a long time too.
I think these items are much more practical than some items. Again it depends on who you’re acquainted with, but I would much rather chip in for a vacuum than a cheese slicer, etc. It’s a really big occasion and it seems like these sites like the knot and Zola all suggest a few higher priced items for quality > quantity
A nice thing about Zola is that they'll let you mark an item as a "Group gift". So if you really want that fancy stand mixer, a few friends can contribute to the full price instead of it being one single huge purchase.

Lol dissing the shark 😂 that’s the one I put on mine. It’s still 500$ lol. I looked at online reviews too. My fiancé and j have been living together since 2017. All of our stuff mostly is hand me downs. Expensive stuff I put on there is the vaccuum, kitchen aid mixer, towels (30$ each), nice knife set (it’s my fiancés favorite and this one is 300$, the single knives are around 100$), nespresso, silverware sets, dishes (matching sets, ours are all mismatched at this point), new air fryer (air fryer toaster oven mix), new toaster (ours are hand me down), stainless steel pots and pans, water pick, tools, luggage set (my cats literally scratched mine up so I want to get hard case ones).
I was 34 when I married my husband and we'd been living together for two years, so I didn't see the point of a registry. Plus, my husband and I thought it was more fun to "feather our nest" ourselves and choose exactly what we liked.
