Thanks Buckin! I've been watching your content since I got real serious in the timber game a couple years ago. You've taught me so many bits of info that I use on a daily basis. Couldn't be more grateful for such a kind soul in this inherently cutthroat industry. Spreading love from Colorado!
That is a very kind and generous loving thanks to our video teacher man. He may be flesh and blood but there are nerves of steel inside this calm, cool and collected individual. It's great that you are able to use the multiple bits of info on a daily basis.. Stay safe Stay strong Be kind And keep spreading love. 💚🌲🌲💚☀️
Love yah buckin I’ve learned a lot from your videos not just tree work or felling techniques but to be a Better human being I will forever be a soldier of kindness
You're absolutely right Buckin. You don't want the tree to set down on the bar. Been there done that and it ain't pretty. You need to learn how to wedge a tree. Thanks for the great videos. Stay safe and God bless you and your family
Yeah first time a tree laid on my bar it was an, oh sh*t moment, then I remembered my wedges. Without the wedges you're screwed, unless you have another saw or can pull the tree.
Hi buckin n family n the bucking army , love the videos , always get tips n tricks n awesume advise on cutting trees n getting setup , great job buckin
Another great video Buckin. Thank you so much for the shout out. That meant a lot to me and my kid. I had rotten Chestnut oak sit on my saw once. The only thing I had at the time to rescue me was a splitting maul. Swung my guts out til that sucker fell. That was before I watched your videos and learned a few tricks of the trade. Without your instruction I could have really hurt myself by now. Thank you.
Great detail and explanation of the importance of the face cut and keeping direction. That Ole bungy was trying to tie you to the fence. Nice work Buckin. Love ya brother. 🌲❤️🌲👊🪓
My grandfather had a wench truck in the 50's, so when we would cut leaning trees he would set us up with a chained off tree to be sure it would fall a given direction. His methods aren't what you see these days. He was known for chaining a tree so that it would fall toward the lean then swing around to a safe area. I was young when he was showing off these skills.
FRIENDS, I love This fucking guy. I am a mechanic and welder recovering from back surgery so just laying around being bored and stumbled across bucking Billy and I am hooked. I want to move out west and just drop timber. Seriously I just bought a vintage chain saw ready to cut some wood. I am from new jersey. I have never even touched a power saw before. Yes I called it a power saw not a chain saw
Been away from the channel for a while but glad to drop in and see this one. Simply the man knows his job. Glad you and the family are doing so well Buckin. TOP MAN!
I’ve been cutting and climbing for 15 years watching your videos I tried back cut first with wedges on a big hard leaning oak shot the gap perfect and was kinda cool something I can say thank you for teaching me something new and something fun to try on jobs
Good afternoon Buckin Billy, 😊 👍,it's wonderful that you take the time to show us how situations develop and how to recognize them, and mitigate them before they actually happen. Love you and love to all.
Good man showing that facecut. Too often I get fussy with chasing humbolts around the tree and changing my lay by a couple feet or more. In my case, where I’m out in the open, it’s not such a big deal unless I’m shooting between two trees, but in residential situations an inch can be a disaster.
Wow lots to learn in your videos. I’m one of those interested fellows. Between you, August and young Jacob it’s been great to learn about tree work. Many thanks for your great videos.
Awesome tutorial. I learned more in the 30 minutes I watched this video than I have in all the research I’ve done online. Thanks for the thorough explanation. Be kind 👍
Buckin, your meticulousness enables you to fall,& hit your mark. Every time since I’ve been watching. Much respect, you rock. Great content. 💯❤️👍🏾😀🙋🏽♀️✝️🙏🏾🇺🇸
Thank you so much for this teaching. I had a big one sit back on me. Luckily there was nothing around, so I just dropped it the exact opposite direction I had originally intended too. I made that straight back cut not leaving a side post and couldn't get my wedge in fast enough. Know I know because of you. Appreciate you so much.
Man Billy you sure can stick those giant trees exactly where you want them….That’s so crazy to me that you understand felling trees so perfectly. I don’t know how you do it. It seems every single tree is a different situation, and consequently handled differently. You definitely have s bost load of experience 👍😀
I was always wondering the power of the wedges, how much impact they have on a hard leaning tree and how much easily or not they can change that direction. Today i learned a lot. Thanks Billy. Great Lesson.
Wow another Buckin Bullseye! Totally amazed… the noise the danger everything trying to tear a piece of you with it! Now that’s my kinda fun. Blessed night to all.
Another great video buckin!! thanks for your time and non stop positivity spreading! Me and a couple of friends recently hung some double bit heads and had a great laugh in doing it! we couldnt help but say "buckin would love this" you inspire us you wicked dude! Keep doing what your doing buddy the world needs more of this kind of content at the moment!! :D
Buckin, I’ve said it so many times, you are the master of the logging class! I check multiple time a day just to educate myself. Your the man, and thank you for all you do for me, and people all around the world! Ronnie, East Tennessee, USA
Very educational and useful information here. I have a big oak that I need to fell and this looks to be exactly the sort of technique that will work for my situation. Thank you and keep up the good work!
Billy I wish I could upload a picture of a tree that was cut down yesterday at work and fell straight through the damn building…..huge tree! Billy you should’ve been here in AL to show these guys how it’s done. The crew could’ve fell the tree anywhere! There was nothing around it for 100’s of yards….except for the building behind it. They fell that tree right through the middle of the building…all they yelled was RUN!!!!!!! almost like they meat to lol😄 Thank God nobody was hurt🙏😐❤️
Perfect 👌.you make it look so easy. And im sure only perfected by experiencing what could go wrong ,So lucky to have you share your knowledge and highly entertaining channel .Keep up the good work .Thankyou
Who in the world would skip ahead at such a critical moment when you are sinking wedges and lifting that tree and sending it to the target....not this fella...not on your life!😊If you skip around you might miss one of your soul talks and I don't want to do that Buckin!
We don't have wedges where I work, but then again, the trees I cut aren't as big. I learned a lot from you. From sharpening chains to cutting down trees. And I still can learn more.
At me point you mentioned you can skip this part of the video,,I didn’t,,I wanted to watch the hole 28:01 ,,you really taught me a lot Buckin, you are a great friend and do amazing work,,they have a wonderful place as well,,God bless you and everyone 🙏🙏
Thank you Buckin' That was a real bear the was it leaned but you made it look easy. I truly appreciate the instruction you give us. God bless you brother, be safe.
Glad you got a set of Nicks - I have two I had shipped to Ireland. First pair have been used every other day for 5 years. Two resoles but still fit like gloves.
I’m with you on the bore cut. Just more to go wrong. Maybe on a real hard lean on a potential barber chair, or when you’re logging white oak or something and the center is really tearing out, then it might make sense, but in general I like your philosophy. Just use basic undercuts and wedges.
Experience is everything! You can't fake it in this kind of situation. It's amazing how simple wedges can move the tree against that big lean, blows my mind.
@@BuckinBillyRaySmith I really appreciate that you show us these jobs you do, it's really been helpful when I run my saws to have learned more about what makes trees tick and it has helped me be safer. Thank you so much for sharing your vast experience with all of us.
Not in the pnw! Grow fast a lot of times. Took down a five foot cedar and the guy said he didn’t think it would grow so big when he planted it, I thought he must be mistaken/crazy but sure enough it was 50 years old, growth rings almost an inch! Cool trees
i do a similar thing with Buick Outdoors and give back to kids to get them outdoors. Nothing major but ive sponsored fishing derbys and every kid got a ice fishing rod and tackle. I always have a extra kind of cheap fishing rod and some tackle in a small tackle box with me and if i see a kid with broken gear or they dont have any gear at all, i give them the rod and tackle. it doesnt cost much and it makes you feel pretty good seeing how happy the kids get when they have their own equipment.
Hey Buckin , we need a buck fest video bring out some of the old iron the macs and homelites and buck up some big wood . Those videos are fun too brother .
