So rare .. UTV 1974 .. especially with the continuity .. of all the "regions", the UTV 70's stuff really is chilling and from another world, hopefully long in the distance past. It's a fantastic piece of history.
Didn't realise there was a cartoon version of 'Around the World In 80 Days' which had human characters. Obviously they must have realised their mistake and remade it with dogs in the 1980s.
Weird choice of programme to trail in peak time, probably excited the schoolchildren rather than encourage them to go to bed. Then again, the World at War was next.
The abiding memory is of the late Welsh darts player Alan Evans jumping four feet in the air over the opening Indoor League caption. Geordie Sid Waddell produced the early series before moving to the Beeb
