Tonight at Family Worship Center, Pastor Donnie Swaggart and panel read Jude 1:20-25 continuing their study on false teaching. Reading in verse twenty, we are reminded, as believers we must build on the foundation we have in Christ. With our faith anchored in the finished work of Christ and that alone, then and only then, can the Holy Spirit help us to live out a victorious Christian life. All too often, we see church leaders directing the people into works of the flesh, which will only spot our garments. With faith properly placed, the Holy Spirit will also give us discernment so that we recognize those among us who are teaching another way other than the Cross. With love and compassion, we will then be guided as to how we must respond to those trying to lead us astray. Brother Donnie says while correction should be rooted in love and compassion, some will need a harsher rebuke than others. Jesus, in righteous anger, presented a whip, turning over the tables in the temple for those who were dishonoring the Lord’s house by making it a den of thieves. We can only stay in the love of God by faith in His finished work, and in His mercy, we will be raptured home, to spend our eternity with Him in heaven.
