The track looks really great. A lot of work. You must be proud of yourself. The setting is beautiful with the trees surrounding it. It would look good if the 'grass' area's were built up more as you intended. Great job 👍🙂
Yes! So much fun! That is so true with the track surface...the old tracks were so loose, needed some real chunky, aggressive tread tires to get any grip.
This is so cool. Yeah there is nothing smoother than a belt drive. So, all you need to do now is start eyeing of another part of your property for an on-road course.
Love seeing everyone having fun! Turn down (soften) the throttle/punch on the esc until there is better throttle control (esp on db01) Xb4 seems to have too much steering (turn end points down)

Loving it 👍👍.. Keith try a brushless setup then you can set up the drag brake it should help with the cars handling, as soon as you let off throttle instant brake and better traction and you shouldn't over cook the corners as much 👍. But all in all you are both driving a load better after so few laps 👍👍
Can't half tell that x ray isnt a top end rrace car. You are getting faster and more consistent already. Also looking at the young blokes run to their cars made me smile. I can't do that anymore. Its more like a slow walk of shame for me these days

Great track!!! Looks like fun. Installing a transponder timing system might be cool to track your driving improvements…3 months from now, I would be willing to bet your lap times will drop significantly. It would make comparisons between settings, tires, and different vehicles easier to evaluate. 🎉🤓🏎

Looks amazing out there! So fun to have right in your backyard (literally). Just based on the couple track videos, I would slow down your servo just a bit, or take some dual rate out of it, bring it down to around 80-85%. Car looks a little twitchy and on a lose track makes it harder to stay consistent.

I don't dare dip my toes into X-ray. Tamiya, Futaba and AE is my limit. I already have kits in every corner of the house. Can't wait to see the Blitzer. It's great to see someone else with a vintage track surface. I built my track to suit the limitations of frog and it's worked well.
Building the track was so worth it with the whole family getting involved. I'm glad to hear that David is building a Terra Scorcher. I've just stripped mine down to clean and rebuild with some new parts and some upgrades. Tell him I'm interested to see his going around the track!
BIG THUMBS UP KEITH! 😊 Great to see you and the fam all out there enjoying the fruits of your labour. Soo many people will be watching on with envy and why shouldn't they? 😁. Best advice for any new driver is to start slow. Stunt shows are a lot of fun but eventually when it comes down to a race and the competitive nature rises to the surface, you'll find going back to a silver can Manucho or Johnson will improve your driving more than you'll know. This is a lesson I had to learn myself. Over time with experience a driver will better learn to control their car. Still, it's a heck of a lot of fun you guys will have for sure. Happy Days Keith.

Keith, ever tought of putting green carpet( fake grass carpet) on your track or that you can do both, it's a whole different racing game on fake grass, much more traction then what you are having now....
How is the wear on the spike tyres on the track? Interessted on seeing how long the spike tyres will last. It should be less wear than if you run them on asfault right? 😊
@@AsurasWrath164 no I have never driven on a dirt track so was curious if one need to often change tyres 😊 since one has to glue the tyres these days it can become expensive 🤔
@prophetate nah, you just unglue them. Either drop the tires in an acetone bath or put the tires in the oven for 30-60 minutes on 60-70⁰Celsius. Both methods will dissolve the superglue nicely and you can reuse the rims very often.
Cool and thanks 😊 I have tried the oven but it made the rim too soft so it got disfigured when trying to remove the tyre. Need to try the acetone way 😊
@prophetate you need a plastic container that can whitstand acetone. I think PP can do that( Need to check on mine to verify). Then you have two options; 1: you put acetone and a wooden/steel block in the container and put the wheel on top, then close the container and let the fumes do the work. Takes longer but won't strip chrome coating for example 2: you put a little bit of acetone into container and put the wheel into so that just one side of the wheel is submerged.the turn the wheel around. Also close container. This method is much faster. Good quality wheels won't be damaged, ultra cheap stuff might get deformed. Just try out what works best! I mostly use the acetone method
