Jason Weigandt walks and talks around Fox Raceway in California to preview the opening Pro Motocross round for 2024. Crashes on yesterday's press day and during motocross testing season have claimed some riders, but it's led to opportunity for others, like the potential for Ty Masterpool to ride for Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki in the 250 class due to injuries to Seth Hammaker and Cameron McAdoo. We're awaiting news on Christian Craig who was involved in a press day crash, which has already claimed Garrett Marchbanks.

I don't think his results will be as good as last year, for one the field is deeper, but more importantly Masterpool and his family have never worked well with teams. Idk if they just don't like pressure and expectations or what but there always ends up being drama

What happened on press day is totally and completely unacceptable, the entire responsibility of which seems to reside with MX Sports and Pala. We're not a "club sport" anymore. We haven't been for a long time, and we need to stop acting like it. It's time for this sport to grow up a bit and to stop treating riders like expendable collateral.

@@joachimrydelius21252 riders crashed on a jump landing and their bikes got stuck together there. There was no one with yellow flag and a rider badly crashed landing on the bikes. There is a video the guy almost broke his spine in 2 parts

I don't think anyone does, it's boring. It races like a supercross track, there is nothing spectacular on the track. It's not a bad track, but it's just "bleh" compared to some of the others

Dream on, the rules are they must be 18 or older, are supplied by the organiser of the event and must be briefed by a relevant official. Two per post (one flagger, one to assist fallen riders). That's it. Ive flagged at a world championship round back in the day.

You have to wonder At what point does pro circuit finally start dropping these injury prone guys. Hammaker, forkner, Crashadoo all should’ve been dropped years ago tbh. The tracks aren’t the problem, it’s the riders and practicing too much. Masterpool is a start I hope. These guys can’t stay healthy and it’s time to let guys that can get the rides 👍🏻

Danger said they didn't really prep the track well for press day and that it was super dry & sketchy... and from the reels going up... it definitely looked dry and sketchy. Was it lack of flaggers on top of the lack of track prep and adequate water down? Is it Governor Newsome's fault? Or is it the promoter of the track? Or is it the Series Manager? All I can say is whoever didn't cover the cost of water and bulldozers for press day cost some riders and teams millions. Enough well trained flaggers should always be top priority as well as a visible track vs a dust bowl. What a shame! When are thy ever going to pad the concrete along trackside in SX? Webb a few years ago, Forkner... and who knows how many privateers... not like Gypsy Tales cares to report privateer news... At least we got Hopper, Cooksey, and Walty! And Weege, you're alright!

If I were RJ and Garret, I would sue MX Sports for not providing a safe track. If RJ’s team had any integrity, they would! Teams in general shouldn’t accept this. MX Sports don’t even pay the flaggers. Combs is a money grubbing fiend. He’s not even close to the man his father was. Shame on him. Not surprised about Hammaker and Macadoo. They get hurt, it’s what they do unfortunately. Deegan, kitchen, and Vialle are going to be battling all summer. Best 250 season upcoming in years.

Many people have no problem with no age limit, as it is a professional class. Nobody has an obligation to make it easier for younger riders, they need to go faster. The main thing for me, is to keep the fastest riders out there.
