Get a no pull harness off amazon and the pulling will stop when on a leash. They are very smart and can be very well behaved with a lot of work. They are worth the work as they are so loving and sensitive.
LOVED this week's video, you both look a lot more relaxed and happy overall. He's grown SO much in the last month! Exact same issues with our 4 month old, jumping up still and heeling until she is too excited by other dogs/people/random objects... some days it's almost never and days like today her heeling just isn't as good. I think it's just going to get better as the months go on and I've heard clipping the leash to the front or collar does help because it lifts their nose up from the ground! But I am also here to tell anyone, I understand how stressful the first few months are... I was crying and felt so overwhelmed some days but it has all been SO worthwhile, she is day and night from where she used to be and it keeps getting better overall!! They are fantastic dogs, it's short-term stress for a long-term goal of MANY years of happiness and cuddles with these brilliant V's 🤍 🐾

All your hard work is obviously paying off. I love watching the wonderful snippets of your life with Lord Cannon that you share with us. His antics really make me laugh (though you’ve obviously been tearing your hair out at times 😬😬). When I move to Anglesey, I am hoping to be able to share my life with a Vizsla. I think it’s amazing how yous make videos of lord cannon growing up he’s so big and cute now he was always super cute but he’s gotten so big my little boy arrives in 2 weeks and we are all so excited thank you these videos helps !!😁😁
My 3 year old Vizsla, Oliver decided to hunt down some baby rabbits in the area - 3 to be exact. We had to pry open his mouth judgtngly to get his prize out. So now I will start with training ‘Drop it’ and ‘Leave it’ - things that should have been taught as a puppy, but hie is my grand dog so I will be working on those 2 commands this week while he is at my house for daycare. I love all the wonderful trails you have, streams and ocean to go on adventures with Lord Cannon - he is a very lucky pup!! I must say that Oliver is very good on the recall, but no so great on the barking!!
Oh no rabbits! That luckily hasn’t happened to us yet. We are very lucky to have such nice walks to go on around here. It’s a shame in the UK we don’t have dog parks like in the US as that would be fun too. Lord Cannon has started barking more recently! 😬😂🐾🐾
Next trick - he’ll be climbing out the back window running off to a party smoking and stealing booze oh and more backchatting! 🤣🤣.. love the pool that looks like great fun too
Have enjoyed your Vizsla journey. We are about to get our second V. Sadly an aggressive form of cancer took our Lucy shortly after Christmas at the young age of 9. Yes, having a puppy ... any puppy really ... is a lot of work. And highly social, athletic and active hounds such as Vizslas, who are also high-end hunters, can be so very challenging. But the rewards with these dogs are many. In my experience, they are the best. Glad you stuck with him.

Hey guys. Love this week's video, he's such a happy lad. I've visited my trainer and her kennel today, had a long talk about Vizslas, possibility of getting a puppy from her (and whether a Vizsla would be a good fit for me) as well as some training/upbringing related things. If all stars align... I might welcome one in my home in June.
@@LordCannonTheVizsla I'm super hyped. I've got a question for you guys, you've mentioned that if you could do something differently, you would be using house line from Day 1. Could you tell me how you would use it precisely? I'm also thinking about introducing kennel cage from Day 1.
@@lordzlomek basically it’s just a long lead that they have on inside so you can more control over them if that start doing things they shouldn’t. Plus when you train them it stops them from running off. Also I wish we would have sectioned off an area too so he didn’t have the run of the whole downstairs until he was a little older. 😊🐾

I'm planning to install a removable "kid gate" to block mine from running upstairs, will also remove all the annoying equipment lying around, anything that could be a target for chewing, put some carpets on the floor etc. Also planning to take 4 weeks of work, to focus 100% of my time and effort in building a good relatioship with my puppy, socialising it properly with everything around (especially streets, city noises, home and garden appliances & cars) as well as people and some other dogs.
We are at breaking point with our Vizsla, my wife's hands are terrible with the amount off cuts on her hands. The puppy is like she's wild, I've not seen anything like it before.

I’m glad the video helped, in the early days we got a playpen if the biting was really bad we would put him in there with a chew to chill out a bit. Lots of naps too as we found tiredness contributed to the biting! 😊🐾
@@bluenose26zulu If it is any help, many of us vizsla owners have been there. Ours is now 18 months and is beautiful. But he was awful in the first few months. My wife refused to be alone with him because of his biting and hyperactivity. There is no easy answer, just consistent firmness without anger, a long line to keep him out of trouble and patience. Time is your biggest friend. Though. They do grow out of it after five or six months
I’ve been watching these videos for ages since first 24hrs and these videos are great for my house family because we are actually getting a puppy Hungarian vizsla in 2 weeks so we are all very excited and he is a boy and I’m wondering when did Lord cannon start to behave what week ? ☺️☺️

Hate to say it but at some point two Vs are better than one - or just having another dog buddy helps in so many ways, especially when you guys want to go out to the movies or dinner -- the Lord will not accept you leaving him on his own- nope, not gonna happen- be prepared to replace the furniture - that said, you two are now forever Vizsla
I would love to get him a friend but not only are they really hard to get hold of they are also super expensive. Looking back I would have got two for sure. 😊🐾
How's the crate training going? Our 15 week old started putting him self in his crate for naps during the day and we are up to 15 minutes of alone time with as frozen treat.. then is crazy barking. Hoping that gets better soon!!
Lord Cannon was the same but now he loves it. We only put him in there for naps and night time sleep, it does get better as long as your consistent. 😊🐾
To start with for drop, if he had something in his mouth I would put the treat to his nose and when he dropped it he got the treat. Now I tell him drop, he drops it and then I get the treat out. With leave it you could get him in a down position and a cup of his kibble or treats in front of him, cover the cup with your hand then take your hand off and say ‘leave it’ if he goes for the treat cover it up quickly and repeat until he leaves it, when he does give him the treat. I would start with just a few seconds and build it up. 😊🐾

We have leave it in the bag - he’s really good at this but it’s the drop it ... when he’s got something he shouldn’t or we are just trying to throw a ball or stick again for him. I shall try this technique and see how we go. Thank you for your reply 🐶
@@coralallon8217 it has taken us a long time, even when we play fetch sometimes he doesn’t want to drop! It’s only been the last ten days that he has started to drop all of the items that he finds on our walks! 😳🤣

I would for sure, the first few months were extremely difficult but now he is great fun and such a lovely puppy. The hot tub is a Canadian swim spa, I think it’s a 16ft Lawrence. 😊🐾🐾
@@LordCannonTheVizsla I would love to see videos of how you deal with it. We are moving into a house with a garden and we definitely want a velcro dog! But I do work 4 hours or 6 hours here and there as a key worker so I cannot stay home if I get called into work. I'm nervous of our Vizsla wrecking the place hahaha
I don't understand that either perhaps all they saw was the adult dog and never gave it a second thought the work it takes to get a well behaved animal from a puppy.
