Week 26: Renovating our original 1970s Kitchen | So close to finishing the kitchen!

We got so much done this week! Finished painting kitchen cabinets, installed kitchen lighting, installled crown molding, installed baseboards, installed trim around doors / windows. Also we figured out our countertop situation! We are doing butcher block on the island and a different counter on the back cabinets!

We didn’t get to everything on the list but the kitchen is ALMOST complete! I’m excited we are getting the counter in the back installed by a professional. One less thing to worry about 😊

Thank you! That countertop was the first thing we picked before even tearing down the kitchen so it was so nice to finally see it in the space!

So exited for you! My husband finished the concrete countertops it took weeks of polishing and grinding them to get them smooth. We finally poured the sealer. Next mudding up the Den and painting ceilings and paneling. I finally get my faucet in and a kitchen sink. No more bath tub dishes!

Right!? I hope it continues to look good as we add things. Design is not my strong suit 🤣 I am really happy with the lights, the counter, and color of peninsula 😊

Have you considered changing out the bifold doors with a barn door or something else with more character?

It looks so good! You guys have completely transformed that kitchen and it looks fabulous! Are you putting quarter round around the peninsula? I think that would look better than baseboard. Our peninsula is quarter round on all sides and is the same color as the peninsula.
