They probably would’ve had more time if it hadn’t been for the mishap. Clearing up the confusion and getting the right couples in front of the judges took up more time than the usual announcement of which couples are safe and who’s in the bottom two.

@@ifeelpretty5790 nah every week is the same rushed thing, which is just annoying because not only should the judges get a chance to think about what is the correct decision not just snap off the top of their head. And also should be able to provide feedback etc

Justin Kelly it’s not just that - Tyra has to be the one constantly talking and that’s why they run out of time. I felt bad for Derek because he could barely talk without him getting rushed by her.

Omg yesss totally agree!!!! The judges critiques are more important so the celebs know what to improve on... I'm guessing Tyra's commentary is to make up for the skybox interviews Erin Andrew's did in previous seasons after each performance... seriously they should just get rid of the "interview" portion by Tyra if that means the judges can say more to the dancers.

Val hasn’t had a good partner since S24. Cheryl didn’t didn’t have a good partner in 10 seasons until Juan Pablo. Artem has only had one decent partner and that’s Nikki. He’s never gotten a 10.

@@laineejiminez9780 Nothing really. Steve Harvey was given the wrong information on an awards show and announced the wrong winner in a major catagory the producers got in his ear and he had to pull everyone back announce the mistake and the correct winner.

@@angelamallof No she didn't. She didn't notice until after she said Anne and Keo and Vernon and Peta were in the bottom two. That's when she was told in her ear by the producers that there had been an error and then she corrected herself. She could have detected that to begin with by just looking at how many were left.

@@eeg122 @AaronJordan - October 6, 2020 - Yes Tyra does have a say in how the show is run because she is one of the executive producer. So indeed this screw up falls on her and it makes HER look bad. A lot of people are STILL angry over the Tom and Erin firing so, they are glad, Tyra is screwing up.

i haven't seen Tyra Banks in some years, maybe 4-5 , is it me or has she really put on a lot of weight?? maybe it's the dress?

I think they wanted to go a little easy on her. It was already a fairly emotional because of the song choice. You would need to see the intro to understand. I think she requested a song and the producers agreed and got it cleared.

Justin Marshall well to be fair the judges have to be in a constant hurry when making their comments too, because she keeps cutting them off to ask the contestants more awkward and irrelevant questions or to talk about herself some more, so I just can’t feel bad for her.

@@idklol7655 but when Erin and Tom was hosting they asked questions too so what difference does it make? Plus do you notice. They have so many couples and its a two hour show and they can't go over that limit which is why tyra rushes them.

Exactly, Tyra isn’t perfect but this was NOT her fault. It’s the same situation as Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway at the Oscars, they were given the wrong names and just did their job. The ones at fault are the people who gave Tyra, Warren and Faye the wrong names.

I get that but also she shouldn't have continued reading her cue card that said Anne and Vernon are in the bottom 2 while Chrishell was still standing there. It requires some improvisation, which I'm sure Tom would've done much better

The difference is......Tom would have showed much more charm, and poise in situations like this - not angry or One Note like Tyra's delivery is. She is horribly miscast - she can wear 100 difft outfits and hair styles - this is detrimental to her career - the longer she stays on the show.

I agree, but the way she handled the situation made it into a far bigger problem than it should have been. Part of her job as host is keep the show running smoothly even with all the stress, last minute changes, and people talking in her ear. She really didn't handle any of it well. She cannot control the production side entirely (though she has lots of power as an exec producer), but she can control her own actions like doing a better job as a host ad-libbing during an unexpected situation like this and sounding FAR less monotone throughout. She just seems uncomfortable all the time on there and as a viewer, I feel that though the screen all the way across the country. Not any sort of knock on her as a person... this just is not the type of show for her. People can wish for zero production mistakes, but the fact is they will happen and the show needs a host up to par to handle them on live tv as they come up.

Yeah......Even if the error is the "cards fault", rule number one amongst professionals is not to finger point. Saying its live TV and basically that she is mindlessly reading the cards wasnt a great way to handle it. She has basically had a poor recovery from not only this, but every unexpected thing that has happened on the show, from interviewing contestants to wearing clothes she busts out of.

Tom is a class act and more professional than Tyra. He would have handled the situation with humor and grace.

I will miss Anne too. She had so much potential based on her first week dance. Keo's choreography is sometimes hit or miss with me. I also think that neither Keo or Anne has a big enough fan base that could have carried them further in the competition. I am glad that she got further than Charles and the Tiger King lady. I can see Monica and Jesse going home next and maybe Nelly. I can also see Chrishell going home within 4 weeks too.

But at the end of the day, just as the name implies, it's the dancing that's important. And Anne's dancing was not that good. The dedication doesn't negate the facts.

@@laineejiminez9780 Depending on which data they are using. The elimination should have been based on last weeks judges results and this weeks audience votes. The two numbers are computed and the results printed and put on cards for tyra in 20 seconds before the results are read and the contestants placed on stage.

Adriana Vélez Tyra was probably told to draw out the saying of the names for dramatic effect for the cameras and the people watching at home. Seeing as she's never hosted a show like this before now, she may need direction from certain people behind the scenes in order to do the show how more experienced people would've done it. In 29 seasons, I never saw Tom Bergeron ever screw up the way she did!. Have not enjoyed this season much at all! That being said, I think the network and production really let her down here. Like it or not, she did not handle this well. You could see the panic in her face. ABC needs to rethink this show. Trying to do a reality show virtually, just doesn't cut it. This show needs 2 hosts and they need people in the audience. Canned clapping doesn't cut it. I think ABC should hold off on this show until they can do it right. Also give more time for Judges to talk here.
