​@@adnapDimash has an 8 octave vocal range and he is reeeeally good, impactful but even when he is singing a song that requires a huge range his dynamics are good he flips from belt to whistle seamlessly, octave jumps, great stamina but he doesn't really have a lot of diction I wanna say bove C6 and even though he is super agile in his whistle he mostly sustains the notes and maybe at times a terminal vibratto and a few aesthetics, like I said he is impactful and Im sure capable of a lot more up there but many critics both classical and non classical have an opinion that I share with them is that he uses the zenith of his range because of the wow factor so sustained whistles serves that purpose better and he is not a songwriter and has little production credits. Range aside what I think makes Mariah different is that she doesnt compromise the musicality of a whistle for the wow factor, they serve a purpose in the song whether it's in the background for ambiance, exaltation, pain, happiness etc. Mariah treats her whistles regardless of where in the song are placed she treats them as phrases and thats why they retain their musicality in every song. Another thing is that Mariah is capable of changing the texture of whistles sometimes is silky, airy, piercing, bright, crystalline etc but I have not heard Dimash doing radical changes the way Carey does and whatever Mariah can do in the rest of her range it appears she can do it in whistle like aspirate abrupts aspirate graduals, staccato, ascending and descending arpeggios, vibratto (probably the hardest thing to do because when whistling air is passing through a tiny opening making the vocal folds oscillate because they don't vibrate like people think, they oscillate very similar than when we whistle with our lips we purse them so the opening is smaller, now. When we have vibratto real vibratto not what many do moving their mouths is done by the tilt of the Thyroid cartilage so she has to keep the opening, an exact surgical precision of breath control all this when the tilt is happening, 8f done incorrectly fast air will pass through the folds, opens them and then it creates a vacuum so they clap back together violently, this is called the Bernoulli principle so when a singer has a bad technique this happens constantly so the folds start bleeding and you need surgery an example is Adele, she developed a Vocal chords Hemorrhage, she had surgery and now she improved her technique and is way more consistent and safe).

@@adnap There's a Brazillian with range from g2 to g10 (georgia brown), it´s a good range but not soft and articulated like mimi, I'm a man my range is from g1 to a7 (6,1 octaves) and I definitely don't have Mariah's skills and fluidity, even with that range, my power is in the low and middle notes

Mariah can reach 8 octave but it doesn’t mean she have 8 octaves. She only have 5.

If we count vocal fry, Mariah Carey can produce 6 octaves easily

I wouldn't count vocal fry as apart of her vocal range, because most of those vocal fry aren't melodically intentional or on pitch with the fry as shes trying to get to the note shes supposed to be singing... and I wouldn't even count the squeaks she does while laughing or shrieking. Her vocal range in general would be 5 octaves
