The glass had a tube in it as well that pumped the water out, so she didn't have to drink the whole thing 😅 love that you both stayed so mesmerised for the whole video
Your interpretation of the meaning of the song was fascinating. “Call me friend but keep me closer” is a play on the saying “Keep your friends close but your enemies closer”. I’ve always interpreted the song as a break up song but now that you said this, it makes a lot of sense. I don’t really like the term “friendzoning” because it implies that being a friend is a bad thing, but I really liked how you said that there’s an element of pushing the boundaries of friendship and “using” someone, in this context. “Tore my shirt to stop you bleeding, but nothing ever stops you leaving” really works so well with your interpretation. And the whole “I can you when the party’s over” being about how they aren’t the plus one but only the emotional dumpster truck in private?! Yeah! That makes way more sense.
No, that's not right. It's not about enemies, but former spouses. After a breakup, it's common to hear couples say "we're still friends". What she's assuring here instead is that he can leave her and still keep her "closer" than friends. But why is she not leaving him? Because she's got "nothing better," which is something we call all relate to.
@@vp4744 Um. What do you mean by “that’s not right”? That’s the saying and that’s what Billie confirmed those lyrics are about. The saying isn’t about former spouses, it’s literally from the book Art of War and talks about keeping your enemies closer even than friends (in order to keep an eye on them). Countless stories are based on that saying. I said that your interpretation was inspired, not that it’s the only interpretation or even the one that Billie and Finneas have talked about. If you mean that YOU were talking about former spouses, then okay, sure, but that would 1. Count as a break up 2. Be on you because that’s not what you said, you said “friend zone”. Don’t know where you got former spouses here…
Billie Eilish is definitely my favourite Billie. The documentary was “The world’s a little blurry”, which is a line from the song “ilomilo” in her debut album. For her second album she’s said in interviews that she doesn’t hate writing songs anymore.
Lana Del Rey Week 2! Please!! 5: Born To Die 4: West Coast 3: Summer Wine 2: Chemtrails Over The Country Club 1: Norman F***ing Rockwell! I wish you both can listen to her song called “Let The Light In” (feat. Father John Misty) - but it doesn’t have a mv. It’s such a banger - and nostalgic at the same time. This song would be my number one choice, hands down.
Great reaction. Just FYI, she finally met Justin and they have bonded in a non-romantic way with Justin feeling a deep obligation to making sure Billie doesn't fall into the same self-destructive traps of fame/fortune that he fell into. So here is the exception, when your hero tells you he is no hero, that he f-ed up and wants to protect you from f'ing up the way he did (becoming a real hero in the process, redeeming himself by selflessly offering to help Billie through the dangerous journey she is in). I am amazed by the number of "stars" that reached out to Billie offering to selflessly be there to help her through her depression and the trials and tribulations of fame/fortune (at 17), including Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift.
Hi 👋 guys great to see you 😀 I love this song such a heartbreakingly beautiful 😢😮I nearly cry everytime I hear this savage song billie eilish is phenomenal artist 😊
Glad I've found this channel. nice to do top 5s. Have you ever heard any Regina Spektor? That would make a great top 5 for an artist that does not get enough play time on reaction vids. Happy to send you my top 5 of hers.
In the making-of video, you can see a tube attached to the glass, so she didn't have to drink all the black liquid. On a side note, I feel that Joe kinda looks like a young Pedro Pascal, especially when Mr. Pascal wears his glasses. Just sayin'.
