Hey Dr. America. Been watching you since your step 1 days. Just completed med school and applying to surgical residencies so i relate to your content a lot. Surgical residency is pretty lonely as is most of med school. How do you cope with isolation of most days?

It’s no wonder your channel has such a cult following after all these years-you really do manage to capture the highs, lows, and everything in between of medicine in a way no one else has been able to replicate. I know you’re extremely busy now but these occasional vlogs are still so appreciated! I hope you continue to make time for them even though we all understand if you don’t. I started watching your videos in early college and will be applying to neurology residency next year, so thanks for being such a role model for me and countless other people. You really have inspired basically an entire generation of future physicians and it’s awesome to see!

Literally teared up when you said WE would be travelling for fellowship interviews. I remember watching your residency interviews as a high school student and feeling like I had a big sister walking me through the process of becoming a doctor. I'm now anxiously waiting for a medical school acceptance and seeing this video on my feed truly made my day. I feel like my big sister is back to let me know everything is okay and I will get through this. I hope you continue sharing your journey and I can't wait to see you flourish as a cosmetic surgeon!

Please keep vlogging!!! You started med school when I was in undergrad! Watching your videos has given me so much motivation when I wanted to quit! I struggled with the MCAT, and I would watch your videos to encourage myself to get back to the grind. Now, I'm a first year med student! I have wanted to create a vlog because of you. I want to encourage other people the way you have encouraged me through the years. Just like you said, If it helps one person, it's worth it. Please don't stop vlogging! Even just the Day in the Life videos help remind us that we will eventually make it!

America! I was thinking of you so much lately because we pretty much started our studies at the same time and your videos made the best company during my first years of studying psychology (late nights with a tomato rice and cole zero was the thing). AMERICA! It's so good to have you back! Girl I've been watching ever since you were in med school when i was still in undergrad and you inspired me so much. You even inspired me to get a cat during med school too because I fell in love with Calyx in your videos so I have my very own Calyx (her name is Miso) who has helped me cope through these rough years. It's crazy to think now you're a PGY4 and I'm an MS3 already! I actually JUST got off my week of ACS nights too! :) I'm nearing the end of my surgery rotation. Just working with all my chief residents this rotation and knowing that you are a chief resident at your program blows my mind. I'm so proud of how far you've come and how hard you work!! I definitely have so much more respect for you now going through my surgery rotation and knowing how much work you've been having to put in for years! Keep it up and I'll definitely always watch whatever you upload!

I know it can be hard to film these for us but I really think you should continue to film these! I find them super interesting and you give us a look at what it's like. Joining everyone else here to say that I've been watching for quite a while and I keep coming back. I've never wanted to do med school, I want to be a historian, but you inspire me and I really enjoy watching your process. Don't worry if videos ever become too much, but as long as you want to keep making them, we'll keep watching them! Edit: Rich Dad, Poor Dad is sadly not super useful despite its popularity but a good start! I'd recommend The Financial Diet here on RU-vid as a better starting point.

You rock! Loved your video! I'm a Traveler Surgical Tech and currently working 11 months at a teaching hospital, this is my 3rd teaching hospital assignment. I've been a scrub tech 10 yrs for L&D. I love working at teaching hospitals and this sheds a whole lot of light on the behind the scenes of medical school/career, I'm 🤯, wowwww, my respects! I have worked 10yrs on night shift and occasionally 24 hr shifts with my per diem job and I can relate to this video. I spent Thanksgiving weekend away from family to be at work, I alternate years, last year I was home from end of November till first week of January. Trying a new change to my Work and Life balance the last two years to a more sustainable and healthy lifestyle, keyword trying without being apologetic, learning to take a rest lol! This year I will be working xmas and new years 🥳, hoping to be the hospital to deliver the first baby 👶🏻 of 2024🎉 You are an inspiration, and I'm inspired to read and learn about investing now, I'm open to learning new things, or just taking things of interest or fun from novice to more proficiency level, it also gives more opportunities to meet new people and learn and grow in new experiences.... hence why I love traveling as a health care worker. I have a passion for learning, I especially loved that you shared your teaching opportunity, my favorite assignment are working at teaching hospitals. Thank you for sharing! Happy Holidays with your colleagues (many more to come teehee) and enjoy your time of relaxing and spending it with the people, places and/or things you love to do! 🫶👩🏽‍⚕️Bendiciones 🙏🏻🏥 P.S. BTW, thanks for the tips to implement automated tasks at home while I'm away from home, I am definitely doing that! Also, you were hesitant, but I'm grateful to you....Thank you so much for making this video, many watched and I definitely appreciated it❤

I think you should absolutely continue vlogging when time allows. Thank you so much for this amazing video. I pray that you are successful in all your endeavours.

America, I’ve had an incredibly difficult time getting into medical school. When you graduated medical school I felt like I was watching my family graduate. I was so happy for you. Please continue to make videos I know it can be difficult especially with time but you help me, inspire me, and keep me going. I have no words to describe how helpful you are to me. Honestly.

This is so good America, I felt the struggle of getting through another day hahah! I love how confidant you are in your Profession and took us along with you in this journey. I have been watching you for 3 years now and to see you uploaded videos again makes me so happy ❤

I missed your videos so much America 😭 I'm in my third year of medical school and in my surgery rotation. It's A LOT of work and I always told myself I would never do surgery but it's the only rotation I like so far. it's a godsend to be able to watch your vlogs again ☺

As a first year med student just barely surviving the first semester, this gives me some perspective. Thanks for sharing.

I used to watch all of your videos when you now started med school while dreaming of being like you one day. I'm now in my 4th year of med school, still coming back to your videos whenever I need a little acceptance and encouragement. I'm so proud of you and if there is any one youtuber that I can point to who has inspired me to keep going it is you ❤️ and yep I will watch every one of your videos you decide to post 😂

I just realized I 100% met you at the hospital, I work EMS and brought in a patient, saw the name tag and thought “nah there’s no way” but it 100% is. I watched your med school journey when I was in high school and you inspired me to go into healthcare and now I’ll hopefully start nursing school this fall. Also, there’s a super pretty bookstore downtown called The Book Tavern that is super antique looking, highly recommend checking it out!
