We had to stay indoors and "rainy day schedule" very similar to you. We watched it on the news so the kids got to see the whole thing and they enjoyed it.

We had a parent donate lots of glasses, and with a permission slip, the kids could go out to take a peek. It was pretty cool, but it did scare me a bit! Eyes are pretty important! :)

Here in Florida we went ALL IN glasses and about 950 students…Weds surprise early release due to tornadoes coming, no internet Weds or Thurs…and…drum roll…family night kahoot Fri night. I. Am. Beat😂😂30 days to go🙌🏼🙌🏼

Here in Texas we are right in the line of totality and it was epic however some districts were closed like my sons’ but where I work we were open and only 3-5 grades could go outside with a signed permission slip and K-2 had to watch on the NASA site from the classrooms. My team put two classes together, and the teachers took turns like a relay running in and out to see everything😂 The Perot Museum donated glasses for our entire district, my team ordered matching shirts, just in different colored writing, and we had any eclipse activity for every subject. 😉

Lori, This is one of the times when it matters the most to have your students on the same page with you. My Testing Nightmare - TCAP. You don't want to be the student taking it, much less the autistic student taking it. I am so happy that my testing nightmares are decades gone. Y'all keep your head up. I really feel for the kids having to take weeks of tests-I’d rather be teaching, for sure, and I know they’d rather be learning! 😁❤️

@@TalesFromtheThirdDegree Yes Lori. But also, I bet some of them may feel a little bit more imprisoned than usual so they are doing whatever they must to reach the end of that testing and in effect, get out of that extra prison feeling . - Dwight

Thank you, Kristen! I went to our state sample tests and the scoring guides there, and talked through those with the kids. I just made up examples in more “kid friendly” talk of what NOT to do! I think the state forgets that they are writing/speaking to nine year olds sometimes…😂❤️
