My youngest son is a fan and he got a Norseman for his older brother for his birthday! Needless to say, his brother was overwhelmed!! Great product and loved this video!
I have a knife in Magnacut at 64.7hrc and 8 tho bte and I use it for everything. It's plenty tough. If you're gonna use magnacut at the very least hit 62. There is no benefits to running it softer unless your trying to make a super hard use fixed blade or something.
Absolutely this. Referencing the charts on Larrin’s website Magnacut treated at 64HRC is still 25% tougher than their RWL34/CPM154 at 61HRC. I don’t know why there was so much emphasis in the video put having a tough blade that you can put to work and why they don’t want to treat Magnacut hard. Plus at 64HRC Mag hits ~555 TCC on the CATRA for edge retention. I mean if you want the most toughness sure, at 61HRC Mag is double that of RWL but then you only gain a negligible 20 points on the CATRA TCC (Mag 61 = ~510, RWL 61 =~490).
I paid $345 CAD for my Benchmade, but the pocket clip was too soft and kept bending. So I took it off to harden it a bit, but I lost one of the screws. I found out it's a special screw, only sold by Benchmade. I tried to buy one, but no one would answer my emails. Their website requires an American address to order parts.
I would definitely buy an upgrade kit for the mini saga. Would love to have the option to reduce the length but don’t particularly need a whole new pen
Forget the ballpoint! I just use a fountain pen all of the time! It is truly enjoyable the free flow feeling of a good quality fountain pen! Once you get a real good quality one and the feeling you get just using it you will never go back to a ballpoint pen again!! I actually have a mini short one that works great made out of exotic wood so a shorty fountain one with a Schmitt “F” Iridium or a “B” Beaufort gold tip would be perfect with a pack of 5 black cartridges! Forget the pump and bottle, too much hassle!!
Always interesting to watch the updates and I’m a fan of all your knife models. But there would also be super cool to see a non flipper model sometime in the future (thumbstuds, hole/slot or disc) 😁 Wishing all the best, from Sweden.
Super super cool to see you use Magnacut and other steels!! Any chance to see backspacers on your knives? Also for the Saga, instead of the logo on the tip of the pen you should make a cool micro milling! The branding on the clip is enough?
Would really like to be able to purchase the saga tubing separately. If you are making a shorter tube could a longer tube to accommodate pilot g2 refills also be made? I know quite a few people would jump on a pilot g2 size saga.
Hi John great new format will there be a time when I will be able to buy a knife from the website without having to go on a ballet or have you changed that as I have not looked for awhile perhaps I should go look anyway still like the format. The new knife looks very promising here in Australia we are not allowed to carry a knife if it is longer than 75 mm or 3 inch blade anything bigger is classified as a lethal weapon so I will be looking out for the new one.
after watching your videos I now know this isn't a simple request but I'll ask anyway; any chance of a left handed option in the buyers choice form? love the new format video :-)
I’ve had a cpmS30V steel that was my previous preferred edc knife till I bought 7221. How easy is it to swap blades out to get the fitment if you had some other steels to test? This 154 is ok but seems to dull quickly so far with my 6 months of use so far.
John are you thinking about how the SAGA works backwards that you don’t want it to open up when you put it in your pocket and leak .push the button and the ink cartridge should retract into the tube pull on the sides and the cartridge should pop out.Love you guys amazing
How about stag and bone handles, scales for me that would be the ultimate in a Grimsmo Norseman,Rask absolutely the best of both worlds.MagnaCut great choice and Damascus say hi to Eric and I will keep following you guys
Really excited to see the progress on the new knife! The 3" range is by far my favorite for EDC and that is looking sweet. Keep those speed holes in the handle!...heck make a skeletonized version with a nice damasteel blade in it so we can enjoy the artistry open or closed 😉
