Watch a week in my life go by as I estimate projects and have a good time. I wanted to record the week and show you what its like because I would have enjoyed watching it while I was in school. Can you do “walk through” of your take offs mock up of a project. Ppl need to know as a estimator you interact with many ppl and can’t be shy in team meetings explaining how you got your numbers for the job

Congratulations on the office, I am moving from the field into estimating and my dream is to some day be in the position you are so I appreciate the videos. My questions I have are: Do certain individuals handle specific trade take-offs or does everyone cover every trade? Also, how often do you make site visits?

Thanks Will! Best of luck to you. Yes. We have a small team of estimators and we are all in charge of certain divisions, not every one. I go on site visits (if i had to make a guess) 1-2 times a month. But if I want to go on more, I could just go.

I'm really enjoying your videos. I want to ask I'm in last semester of Bachelor in Architectural Engineering. Can I get job as estimator after completing my degree or is there something else I need. Plus anything you recommend like any course, practice, internship in particular thing will be appreciated. I'll eagerly wait for your guidance. 😇

Yes you can. I got my job right after college. I applied as an intern first and then was hired full time. Career fairs help a lot.

Watch my 5 ball juggling videos and slow it down more in the settings. That is what I used to do.

You could do either! I know someone who didnt graduate college and he is estimating. Just depends on who you know to get in the door.

My college degree helped get me into the door. That would be the first step. If you do not have a degree, than you need to find someone you know in estimating to help you get a job.
