Thank you so much for normalising and showing your awake time with Amber. As a health visitor I cannot stress enough the importance of reading, interacting, playing and offering tummy time to your baby and you display all this perfectly. Please don't ever feel that it's boring to see, it's so heart warming and precious and you are both amazing parents. Lots of love xx
I do not have any babies in my family, (or any that I was able to see on a regular basis anyway) so being able to see Amber develop and grow is so lovely! You both are amazing parents and all of your content makes my heart happy 💜. Sending love to everyone xxx
I agree with cutting the tree. I'm a horticulturalist and you are basically going from a short lens to a long lens of your kitchen window! I like that the shed area becomes another world within your garden. Sometimes you have to be bold. Well done
Ooo the shed would look so charming with a little window box under each window too!👌🏼 🌸🌻🌱🌞 The babydoll dress looks so feminine and summery! 👍🏻 Oh tummy time was precious, not boring. The bunny book was so cute 🥰 Babies and kids will read those first books over and over they love to turn the pages and help tell the stories when they get bigger. It’s adorable. 💜
The white on the shed looks so much better than the green. Nice and crisp to match your window colour. Seeing you with Amber is never boring. It’s adorable! I love it.
Boring ? OMG noooooo I love watching her when she’s awake shes a part of you and James now and I love seeing you all. She’s precious and getting so big. HAPPY FATHERS DAY James I hope your out enjoying your little family. ❤️
Happy first Father’s Day!! 🥰 About the thickness of your hair, during pregnancy the hormones that are produced influence hair follicles to stay longer, therefore the amount your hair sheds daily is reduced as the growing cycle of your hair becomes longer, giving you thicker hair, that’s why it is common during postpartum to seem like you’re loosing your hair a lot more because you don’t have the hormones anymore that are influencing your hair follicles to stay longer, hope this helps 😌💖 x
I’m working hard to become a children’s illustrator and seeing you read to Amber really made me emotional. I hope that some day I’ll be able to show my own children my future picture books 🥲❤️
That close up of James made my day! 😂 Happy Fathers day! I audibly gasped when Carys said she’d cute down the cherry blossom. But it looks beautiful, you’ve done a great job Carys!! X
More Amber Awake Time Please, such a gorgeous little lady. Those smiles melt my heart, showing so much interest in her books. I’m sure when Carys was reading to Amber she was almost answering Carys. Following the words with her eyes, so adorable. Happy 1st Father’s Day James, the first of many happy ones. Please don’t worry about the comments, because you want to cut down your tree. You do you, the transformation looks gorgeous Xx
Hi Carys, James, and Amber! Firstly, I LOVED that you shows a bit of your awake time with Amber! I have an almost four month old baby girl too and I love the ideas that I get from your family! I would love to see even more of it and your routine with her! How do you get her to fall asleep on her own?! That’s amazing how she settles herself to sleep! Second, I started losing my hair when my daughter was two and a half months. I am under the impression that you lose the hair that you basically didn’t lose while you were pregnant! So it’s just your bodies way of returning back to a new “normal”. It frightened me at first, but I felt much better when I learned that. I love watching every single video💕 Sending you all so much love!
My heart how amber is growing so fast I don't want her to grow up so fast but also so excited for all of the beautiful memories ahead of her... she is so alert now & looking around it's amazing to see her learn her surroundings
Your kitchen is just so nice! I loveeee the new view - cutting that tree down was such a good decision! One thing I would do if I were you would be to put a long / made to measure cushion on the little window seat instead of 3 separate pillows - that's just my OCD kicking in 😂😘😘
If I could just make a suggestion that instead of painting the whole patio do the path from the shed first and pressure wash the rest of it too start with, that way you can see if it’s something you want to do all over, it’s going to take a lot of time to do all the paving and will have many steps to do it properly you will also be constantly pulled away because of Amber and her needs and you may find that doing the whole thing in one go will be too much for you too cope with when Amber is so young. I am sure it will look great when it’s done no matter what you decide to do 🙂 Anyway fab way to finish my Sunday watching an hr of a wonderful family who are so caring and funny and am already waiting for the next one 😉 🥰🥰
Watching Amber really look at things and smile and interact makes me smile from ear to ear before I even realize it. She is just so happy and so sweet!! I have heard something good for your hair and skin is collagen. I haven't tried it myself yet but thought it might be something to look into. I have only been watching your videos for about a month but i binge watched from when you told James that you were pregnant and have already made it to this video. I absolutely love all your videos!! With love and best wishes from Auburn, Washington USA
So so lovely!!! I would recommend sanding it down before you paint the rest as it will make it so much easier to paint and will look brand new! But lovely colour 😍
Regarding the scratches on the plates: in my family everyone at one point invested in a set of "Villeroy & Boch" and even after 30 years I cannot say I have seen any scratches - more like a long-term (even life long) investment, but probably worth it. However, in my first appartment I had the IKEA 360+ line (plain white) and never had scratches either (used them for at least 5 years)
With both my pregnancies, my postpartum hair loss happened at about 4 months. Just make sure to continue to take vitamins for hair skin and nails. Also, don’t be afraid of it, it’s not super fun to go through but it will grow back and be ok. I currently have a puff of 3in baby hairs around my face from my second daughter ☺️ love y’all!!
Have you guys seen the electrical tape hack for windows? I’ve seen people do black, but if you could find white tape, you could give it a shot! Might be simpler than cutting wood 😊
you are the most loving, kind, sweetest parents i have ever seen! the awake time with amber was so adorable and you take so much time to teach her and play with her and its so amazing. i look at you and want to be like you when i become a mum❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰
Post partum hair loss….so the reason you have thick hair isn’t the vitamins (could be a little) but mainly it’s due to the fact you don’t shed hair when pregnant. My PP hair loss started at 3.5 months, I’m now 5 months PP and it’s really slowed down and honestly hasn’t been too bad at all. Not much you can do to avoid it but just take good care of your hair, avoid harsh products and brushing it too much xx
Aww Carys it wasn't boring at all. My sister has a baby and I plan to do alot of the activities with him when I baby sit because I was the way you are with Amber with my daughter.😁🤗
Plate recommendation, Denby all the way, we love ours, haven't ever had a scratch on wash really well in the dishwasher and really solid. I love watching Amber grow, I'm currently expecting my first baby in October and we are so excited.
The shed will look well gorgeous when you have finished, Well Fine you. Amber is getting cuter and cuter every time I see her on your Vlog. She was really loving her awake time and that Bunny Book. It is so good to read snd interact with babies at a young age. When they grow up they will loves to read books. My daughter did. That Eucalyptus out of your garden looked great in that vase in the corner. That little animal outfit on Amber looked lovely on her . It will nice to put her in this when you go to visit the Zoo. You are both smashing the Parenting Vlogs and Home updates with the garden also . Have a great week. 🥰 xxx
the awake time was so cute stop I love seeing Amber interact she's gorgeous. im seeing more and more Carys in her now that she's expressing more! they have the same eyes and facial expressions its so cute!
Denby plates don’t scratch, they’re expensive but worth it. You can get them online and a few retailers sell them but worth getting them at an outlet if you can. Last years range way more affordable x
M&S plates are fab! My parents have had a set for 10 years now and they genuinely still look brand new. Like you say, they’re a little pricier, but definitely worth it in the long run!❤️
Denby all the way!!! Haha - I love them and have had them growing up and they last forever and can get loads of designs as well!! Would highly recommend - I’m moving out and have bought some new ones as well
I never lost any of my hair with either of my kids but I also never had the hot and sweaty issues that I have heard alot of people have now both of my pregnancies where a breeze if my belly wouldnt have gotten bigger you would not have known I was pregnant i was told that i was the happiest pregnant person by all that seen me. I was blessed with two extra easy pregnancies.
Love all the baby content!!! I find it so funny when carys worries about it being boring when I always want her to show EVEN more haha!! Love love love herrrr 🥰
OMG, when I saw your first part of the vlog when the tree was still there, I saw the shape of a love heart and thought it looked really cute and now I’ve just seen that you’ve cut it down. It still looks lovely it’s just funny that it’s the first time that I noticed the branches creating a love heart shape against the blue 💚💙
The shed looks so good! Sucks you had to cut the tree but I totally agree, it looks better without. You can always plant another one somewhere that works better for y’all
I've had the white Malvern plates from next for 2 1/2 years and no scratches, we use every day and put them in the dishwasher and they look brand new. They are really similar looking to the Sophie Conran design dinner set for a fraction of the price. Minimal white vibes with something a little bit different with the textured edges. Love the videos, such a gorgeous little family. X
Hi guys why don't you just use tape to make the cross on the shed window and I think a window box would look beautiful under the window too, you can buy plant hooks for pots . I've brought from my local garden centre false climber on a wooden trellis to attach on my brick wall ... I went for false so it didn't damage the wall also it never needs maintaining it always stays Beautiful, the one I went for had bits of purple flowers on and you can get them with all different colours ... I'm from the Wirral near Liverpool UK 🇬🇧 just for anyone thinking of going to a garden centre but you can purchase them online ... As I'm a single Mum it's just easier for me to have false plants in this area as I do have a few pots and a very big lawn to maintain... Love all your DIY vblogs and day in the life you both always make me smile so thank you and Amber is amazingly beautiful hugs from Donna and family xx 💗
Omg carys I haven’t seen a video of yours since the wedding! Congrats on the baby she is adorable and you are both absolutely glowing. So happy to see you so happy!!
I would swap the two trees in front of the shed! I think the taller one would look nicer on the right to hide the blocked out window and it would open up the space ! It’s lovely what you’ve done with the shed, it looks so much better ! Xx
I don’t usually comment, but I want to say thank you for your videos. My mum went back into hospital today with sepsis and pneumonia and long standing poor health, and you guys always manage to cheer me up even during the tougher days x
Plates that don’t scratch - Dunelm’s Denby range. I got the Gordon Ramsey version but a few years ago so they might not have them anymore. But they haven’t scratched at all! x
After about 3 months postpartum I lost a lot of hair near my hairline, I wasn’t bald but it was a significant difference, but I kept taking my vitamins, and it grew back feeling thicker and healthier and grew back quickly within 2 years
I think that Amber’s new dolly is called ‘Emily’ my 3 Granddaughters all had her and they loved her. Emily has been slightly updated but the girls took her everywhere such a lovely doll. I’m sure Amber will love her too. Love to you all. HilaryX
I had some postpartum hair loss with my son. I don't remember when it fell out, specifically, but I lost it right above my temples. So it was really hard, because if I put my hair up(which I did a lot after his birth) I had these random bald spots. But they did grow back by it was hard until they calmed down and looked almost like bangs. So! It probably will come, but nothing to worry about at the moment!
I am 12 weeks post partum and my hair is falling out all over the place. I feel bad because it is going everywhere and even getting wrapped in my baby boys hands. It's not coming out in clumps or anything but quite a bit when brushing etc. Don't worry you won't lose all your hair. Lots of love to you. Xxxx
When it comes to crockery for long wear non scratch and holds up in the dishwasher etc. Try and source catering industry crockery it's designed to last. You will pay more but it's worth the money. If you know anyone in the industry that can put you in touch with someone. Worth it.
At first when you Said you cut the tree down I was like 😯 but must say you done right when you showed wot you done and the shed looks absolutely love it 😀
It’s a personal preference of course, but how about moving trees to other areas? Unless you just absolutely don’t like them. Some are very high maintenance. No judgment, just an observation because they seem to really like it.
