You're right, its about killing off their old masks (and maybe their devils) the ones playing are the new masks and old ones are dying off. The 2 being stabbed are the new Bassist and Drummer, this was the video that introduced them officially. The way they die is to do with how they wouldn't want to actually die (apparently) who knows but it's a decent video! (Apart from the white screen all over it) 😂

The thing that always makes me laugh about this video is seeing Chris with the ravens. Since (mostly) all the deaths are based on the members' greatest fears (Chris's biggest fear is birds), someone had mentioned in an interview that during that part of filming, Chris was basically crying in his mask with the ravens around him while the rest of the band was standing just behind the camera laughing. Kinda mean, sure, but it still makes me giggle lmfao. 😂

You are right about your analogy. It's them killing off their own demons. Also, slipknot changes their mask with every new album. Their first single from the album is when we meet the new version of their masks. You can clearly see that Corey (singer) has two different types of mask. The one he explodes himself with, and the one he uses throughout the rest of the video. The two guys in wheelchairs were at the moment the new guys in the band. They came in as replacements for guys that were no longer in the band, so it's kind of an initiation. In a way, they had to gain their status in the band. Their first 3 albums were raw, and abrasive. After All Hope is Gone, we see their journey as coming better musicians and a more radio friendly sound. I would compare Nero Forte to The Devil In I, as they are both catchy with big hooks and "seem" heavy. But if you want the true essence of Slipknot, you dive into their first 3 albums. Those songs will kick you in the face. THOSE are heavy songs. Pure rage outlet Shout out Maggots!
