Check out these toons that played on local syndication during the 80's. Robotech Gijoe he man Transformers Voltron (original version) M.A.S.K #saturdaymorningcartoons #80s #saturdaymorninglineup
@@sgzartan: KCOP also played Inspector Gadget.....I lived in Bakersfield, CA back in the day, and we used to get most of the LA channels on cable.....God Bless cartoons 80s style!!!!
Me too. I would get home in time to see robotech. By then I knew it was 3 separate shows by going to little tokyo and seeing all the macross models and toys.
The early and mid 80 's were a great time to be a kid. Especially in 1985 l was 12 and first started watching robotech while l was in middle school. Robotech had a nastalgiaic and somewhat of a reassaiance about. I go to middle school and it was always in my head. The music characters just had feeling about it. The childhood memories and love for this show will always be there. Life was simple and peaceful back then compared to today's world. There will never ever be a great decade like the eighties. Thanks for posting and reliving and seeing my childhood from robotech to he man, transformers, gi joe and Voltron.
We’re the same age and Totally agree with everything you said.. not a care in the world. Except go to school, hang with friends, and watch the best decade of cartoons EVER!!!
Yeah, I was 13 in the O.C. in '85, and there's a very good chance I watched this live. Being bullied at school (actually one of the most stressful years of my life) and cartoons (especially Robotech) were a welcome distraction. Thanks so much for posting this.
So minus the Robotech end credits from today this was cool to see. I grew up in LA during this time and this is great to see from KCOP! The best time of my life was in 85/86….growing up with this and in LA at that time was amazing. Thanks again!
Thank you so much. This year was a stack year for action animation. The Turtles thrived after this window of time. 1983-1987 was the murderer's row of action cartoons.
I'll never forget running home from school to catch Speed Racer in the afternoon and then one day there was no Speed Racer and they has something called Robotech instead. I was so mad but there was nothing else on so I watched it... and of course I fell in love.
You're a mind reader, cartoon Angel, idk the best word. Needed way more than caffeine to come to life this morning & was about to go searching for my 2nd life energy source...cartoons from my day. Thank you, Thank you!!!!

In '85 I was 5 in Italy, had no idea I was American till 7 when we had to move back to the U.S. Interesting programming those days, love the nostalgia here.
Nice! 2:01:00 You snuck an episode of Go Lion in! It's cool seeing Voltron in it's original form! It's a bit darker, and more compelling than what we got.
Ahh yeah. More of the good stuff Mone! Tricks may be for kids, but vintage commercials are for middle aged AV nerds! Keep em coming! The mighty Macross hit us via R O B O T E C H! It was the first, and best scifi I fell in love with. Now after 40 years of Harmony Gold legal crap Disney Plus bought the real deal. Now I actually like the Robotech version. The heavy narrator, the wooden singing, and the actual kick ass soundtrack! It's not as great as the original but it's the best of the anime adaptations to hit the states back then.
As a kid in the 80’s I grew up watching He-Man, Voltron, GI Joe, Thunder Cats, Transformers etc But not Robotech, never heard of or seen it before until Toonami on Cartoon Network in the early 2000’s And I was 4 in 1985
Hold the flip up. S'mores cereal was started in EIGHTY-FIVE!? And it's still going on? Meanwhile, Count Chocula, FrankenBerry, & Boo Berry have been regulated to Halloween (To which they've FINALLY added a fourth one with a FEMALE mascot.) & finding cereals such as Cookie Crisp & Golden Smacks has become rather...difficult, to say the least.
As a kid watching Robotech I would wonder why the bridge of such an important ship was staffed by inexperienced girls and not battle hardened sailors? But then again didn’t question the giant robot plane 😂
This is great. Only thing is the He-Man and She-Ra episodes are playing in British broadcast speed instead of American Broadcast speed. In the US, we wound up with the DVD sets where all the episodes are in PAL or British format 4% faster than they were when they were on TV in America (NTSC format) or on American VHS/Beta/Laserdisc back in the 80s. The original NTSC negatves were lost or discarded sometime in 2003 or 2004 when the Filmation Library of cartoons was sold by Halmark entertainment to Entertainment rights in the UK. A German Home Video/Media Company recently released the series on Blu Ray, but they fixed the playback speed issue on converted what they had to NTSC format before remastering the episodes for Blu Ray release. They also corrected the deleted scene issue from the very first episode. The only thing they forgot in this special collectors set is the Orko and Kowl Commercial Bumpers and the Pilot opening to the Diamond Ray episode. The Blu Ray set is region free, so it will play on any Blu Ray player. The bad news is that they only did a limited production run of the collectors set and it was discontinued last year. A few ebay delaers in Germany still have new copies left, but they run $500-$600 each not including shipping. I can't afford it now, but eventually I WILL HAVE THAT SET AT ANY COST. Then I'm getting rid of my DVD sets from 2005-2010.
OP music for Robotech and He-man is better then any music we have in USA atm. Also Voltron main theme (when transforming and and OP) was different in the west then the Go-lions theme shown here.
21:35: "I had hoped that war was a thing of the past." But you say that, good Sir, on the bridge of an alien BATTLESHIP!!! Exactly what did you think that ship was doing when it was forced to crash onto Earth? Mapping starcharts & studying nebulae?
awesome video and thanks for the nostalgia but, why is the picture so small??? 🤔 i got a HUGE computer monitor and i'm watching your amazing video, as a 6x6 square in the middle of my screen 😥
I tell ya I miss the 80's the people cared more, there was love in the world. We also cared about our country... And now we lack in all those and so our country is being destroyed by evil men foreign and domestic as we sit by and watch. I pray the Lord Jesus Christ saves us all. 💯🇺🇸💪🕊️🙏🏼
06:23: All right. I realize this was from '85, but come on! There is no way in Heaven or Hell that such a huge city would grow up over 10 years. It takes nearly a full year just to build ONE skyscraper - & that's if they're moving REALLY fast with 3 8-hour shifts - for crying out loud! At best, you might see a shantytown, or maybe - possibly - a small grouping of residential homes for the scientists with a few science labs & maybe a few commercial or service buildings mixed in. In order to get to THAT level of a city in 10 years, you'd have to be building - at minimum - 20 skyscrapers at a time, in addition to all of the smaller buildings. It'd probably take all of the construction crews on the planet working together on nothing else, & even then it'd be a stretch.
A good upload as always. Although news has been buzzing about the new MeTV Toons that will be launching later on next month. Hopefully this doesn't put a damper on any future uploads you may put up. And even though they'll be showing some good nostalgic cartoons, I'd rather watch channels such as these where you get original commercials and bumpers along with the program. Not gonna be a whole lot of fun watching those cartoons with no bumpers, and current ads!
