Finally the barista has a question he can answer. Iced coffee is hot brewed coffee that is refrigerated and then poured over ice . Cold brew coffee is coffee brewed over night in cold water, imagine an giant tea bag filled with coffee that gets soaked in a bucket of cold water . LoL I hope that makes sense
Ex- Starbucks manager here!! The iced coffee is essentially a full batch of coffee that is brewed on a 1/2 batch so it is extra strong. Then it is poured hot into a pitcher half way (1L) and the other half is filled with ice. The ice starts to melt immediately to begin to dilute it. Then when you order it the "room temp" coffee is poured in a cup and filled the rest of the way with ice!! As for cold brew, it is also a concentrate, it is coffee brewed for a very long time (minimum 12hrs) when I make cold brew at home I do about 1 1/4 cups of coffee and 5 cups of water. Let it sit for at minimum 12 hours and then press it (like a french press) and use the concentrate over a 5-7 day period. Do equal parts cold brew & water and then any flavors or creamer you want! For the ice cubes, you just use those to help keep the coffee or cold brew flavor strong without watering it down with normal ice! Would be happy to give you some more tips if you want or need!!
The coffee ice cubes are to put in the cold brew coffee without diluting it with water (when the ice melts). 😂😂😂 You are awesome! Thanks for another wonderful video!
Christine. You are a light. A safe space online. You just being you brings me so much joy! You don't understand how you're helping my mental health rn. THANKYOU 🫂 from the bottom of my broken heart 😂❤️
You can use the frozen coffee beans instead of ice cubes to prevent your coffee from being watered down. I'd pour a glass of the Stok and put a couple coffee beans in to keep it cold. Another thought I had was If you start with hot coffee, I bet adding the frozen creamer will give you iced coffee and then also prevent the coffee from being watery.
Christine- cleans up many messes in all her baking videos. Also Christine- I’ve never seen a paper towel work! There is a woman around here who has a Hello Kitty car. 😂
I love love love a long vloggy style video!! It's like we're just hanging out, shooting the shit 😄. Those cookies turned out great, but what a kerfuffle and long process to make them 😅. Your bar hopping evening with Mia and the strangers (why does that sound like a band name 😂) sounded so fun!! Have a lovely weekend everyone! I'm currently sorting through boxes of old photos, trying to throw crap out, and also very much procrastinating - so thank you for the fun distraction 😄
The coffee ice cube thing: think of it as water with water cubes and do it with coffee with ice coffee cubes. It just coffing up your coffee not watering it down.
You saying "it's 1am", me not seeing the problem and then i remembered you're from the states! GIRL, i'm from Argentina... We don't go out UNTIL 1am😂 late for us would be 8...9am
*Don’t know if anyone’s told you this yet, but….* The frozen coffee cubes are so that your cold brew/iced coffee doesn’t get diluted as they melt (for people who slowly drink their iced coffee). You’re supposed to add them to your already fully made drink instead of regular ice cubes, so add the cold brew and creamer in the cup (not just creamer) then add coffee ice cubes & top with cold foam 💜
Typically cold brew is taking coffee grounds adding water and setting it in the fridge for minimum of 12 hours up to 24 hours, so it steeps and becomes strong. But for some odd reason people love to change how things have been done for a hundred years. Now they think you brew the pot and stick it in the fridge it's called cold brew. It's not the same.
Thank goodness I was scrolling on RU-vid! I never am this early for videos. I also hate when foods are drowned in liquid! Dressing, sauce, condiments, you name it, I want in moderation. I did get iced coffee today on my target trip and thought of you so cheers! Also I have found myself now saying oldy moldy in my regular life so thank you for that lol 🤣🤣
When I worked at Dunkin to make the iced coffee there was a ratio we had to follow. It was like brewing a regular pot of coffee but it wasn’t in regular size. It was the tea things you see at some gas stations and instead of filling the container up with extra water you fill it with ice. It will melt down to the amount of water needed for the coffee and cool it at the same time.
For futureness when you're following a recipe if you click print it will just show the recipe and you won't get the annoying ads constantly popping up. Love your content so much. I look forward to Mondays and Fridays so I can sit and watch your gooberness!!
Nova Scotian here.. I don’t travel much but when I do and someone asks where I’m from I quit saying Nova Scotia and just say Canada cause they look confused😜 so im impressed 🤣
I think the different Temps in the cookie recipe is all for the butter because you want it at the right consistency. Tip for incorporating mix-ins: add them to the dry ingredients when you whisk them together. You do that for cakes and muffins so the stuff doesn't sink to the bottom since they get coated in flour and become part of the dough better
Ya pour some cold brew in your cup then add a couple cold brew ice cubes so that it stays cold but doesnt get watered down by regular ice, then add creamer 😊
Here's what I like: Brew my favorite coffee, pour some into the ice cube molds and put the rest in the fridge. The next day you have cold coffee you pour over the coffee cubes. Add syrup and favorite milk. Shake it up :)
Just use the coffee cubes in a regular cup of coffee, it's so when the cubes melt it doesn't dilute your coffee. Or blend the coffee cubes to make a frozen drink.
I love your videos! I also wanted to share some coffee knowledge! Iced coffee is technically regularly brewed coffee at room temp with ice. Cold Brew coffee is actually coffee grounds that are immersed in water for 12 - 24 hours to make a coffee concentrate that is then mixed with water. It is legitimately cold brewed! It often gives a smoother end result that cold hot coffee! ☕️
The coffee ice is to not MELT DOWN I.E. Water down your iced coffee drink. You make the drink as is and use the special ice to keep the flavor going ❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂
Your videos are always funny. - It's fun to make your own cold brew, too. I use a French Press. Anything that you can drop a few tablespoons of ground coffee into, mix with water, let sit 8-24 hours (the longer, the stronger), and drain the coffee granules. Hence, the French Press. Plus, blonde roast has more caffeine than medium or dark roast.
Christine, I swear you 100% need to try "Califia Salted Caramel, Cold Brew Almond Beverage". It is EXACTLY the delicious sweet ready-to-drink coffee you'll love! ❤ I bought a small bottle it a few years ago and I was HOOKED! I'm in Canada and I know this is readily available for you and probably is available in their big bottles but I could only find the small bottles here. It is so good!!! ❤
I usually park by the Target down the road at Touhy and Manheim. I go in get a Starbucks and wait. I have whoever call me when they get off the plane and by the time they get outside I'm usually pulling up. Just a thought for next time
Yeah normally u would make a regular cup of cold brew and put in the cold brew cubes and creamer and syrup and whip cream or whatever else you want, basically your cold brew cubes are coffee too so that while they melt, your cold brew doesn't get gross and watered down
I bet you can unscrew the cap on the salt so you could dip your spoon in. But, you are getting better! Next thing you know, you'll be writing your own recipes! ❤❤❤❤
You make the coffee at night, put in the fridge until the morning, the add milk/creamer/ sugar and ice. Or you buy a cold brew coffee at the store. I prefer to make it myself personally 🫶🏻
I've been thinking about this for two days and I knew this but it I had to look it up to be sure before I posted. My point is about the red cardinal you saw out your kitchen window. Did you know that many people believe seeing a cardinal is a “sign” that those who have passed are with us in spirit. And if they stay with you it means they have a message for you. I know everyone doesn't believe, but I love the thought that someone I love has come to say hi! Hope it was like your loving grandparent if any of them have passed. A side note, I think you should do a book club. We can talk about it in a live?❤❤❤❤
@ChristinesSnaps thanks! I love it. I'm going to be looking up more of her music. I'll be 50 this year but I love this genre of music. Anymore suggestions? Lol
