Yes , thank you for sharing about The Chosen!!!!! I started watching it , never got passed season 2 and then I would see videos and watch some clips on RU-vid and I would just get the biggest pit in my stomach and I could feel the Lord be like there is darkness in this and I haven’t watched the show or a clip since and am honestly devastated that I even showed my family
YES AND THANK YOU! Christians should be fiercely DEFENDING anything that comes against any bit of the bible! We are to protect it at all costs and come against anything that twists or distorts it, even in the slightest way. He deserves that HONOR and RESPECT! If anyone can’t see why your points are necessary and important, I would encourage then to fall more in love with Jesus and truly know him, you’ll begin to feel that same need to protect and defend the name of our Lord and Savior!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!! I would agree with most of what you said about the Chosen. I would just take a step or three more in saying that I don’t believe that we should be presenting images of Jesus as believers. I would agree with those who believe that to do so is breaking the second commandment.
I would also note that previous new agers such as Doreen Virtue have pointed out other issues with the Chosen that I agree with. She does have those on RU-vid if you are interested in learning more about issues with the Chosen.
I love you and so thankful for who God has made you to be and the way He’s using you. It inspires my walk so much to remember that loving Jesus is more than just saying it. I have to live it out and rid of the darkness. Keep following God! It’s changing lives and the people who don’t listen to God, it’s to their dismay.

It’s like because we’re Christians we just have to “compromise” and be “nice” all the time and not call anything out 🙄😐 We gotta keep our eyes on Jesus and do what He calls us to do whether people like it or not 🤷🏽♀️ But tbh I never understood the hype of the Chosen, I tried watching it but could never get into it. God bless you always!! 🥰🙌🏻❤ I honestly agree with you about The Chosen, first things first, since it was released and when my friends suggested me to watch it because it was good, i never had a good feeling about it. I started the 1° episode, and after that, i didn't feel like i was able to continue watching. And here in Brazil, the pastors are saying the same thing about the chosen, most of them are realizing that they are making a Playful Jesus kind of person. Jesus was good, humble and happy, but he always has been an authority because he is Holy. The tv show portrayed him differently, as he was human like everyone else and that He is not worthy of praise. And just seeing that it's not made to be biblical at all, is something that we really need to worry about!! 😢
I’ve heard them call him creepy John before and didn’t think much of it (idk why) but after you put it like that I’m like oh okay that is really weird. My husband really likes the show but I do think it has the potential to confuse a lot of ppl with a lot of the made up parts. Also I loved the rest of your blog too! I never understood the hype of the Chosen. I didn't like the fact people were replacing the Bible with watching the show. What turned me away from it is when they first came out with the " Chosen is not good" youtube channel. I didn't like how they dressed up as a devil. Even if it's satire.
Thanks for talking about that show-and all the exposing you do in general. People talk a lot about how watching the show led them closer to God-praise God for that! truly-but I don't think that makes the show untouchable. I watched it for almost 2 seasons and for me, watching it helped me better imagine the Biblical narratives. The different emotions and challenges they are depicted experiencing, for example, reminded me that the disciples were just humans like me. But there were always little things that bothered me. Like the scene with Mary and show-Jesus at the wedding at Cana, what I think is an over-humanisation of Jesus, and how show-Jesus called John out for calling Pharisees a "brood of vipers"... when Jesus did the very same thing in Matthew's gospel! I honestly didn't know if they would make show-Jesus a hypocrite or leave that section out completely. Didn't stay to find out YESSS, everyone believes in Jesus to some extent but we believe Jesus is God! Such a crucial difference! The relatability of show-Jesus was initially quite refreshing and helped me think more about the fully humanness Jesus had. But I think they really miss out on the fully God part. Also, the things they manufacture to make certain points like show-Jesus not healing his disciples. Like, I GET the sentiment but I really think that kinda undermines actual Jesus' ministry.
I don’t understand why Christian’s felt the need to unfollow you over your opinions about the chosen. It shouldn’t be a controversial thing because like you said it’s a TV show that is adding to the gospels.
It is weird to me that my parents do not like The Chosen, but they like other historical dramas on about Moses and Joshua on the Living Faith Network which seems similar. They care more about the drama than Scripture in regard to these shows.
Would you reconsider your view if data showed "The Chosen" has helped spark a interest for many non-followers who later converted to Christianity? The Chosen has helped introduce parts of the Gospel to my wife and I. Now we're halfway through reading the Bible following The Bible in a Year podcast (with Fr. Mike Schmitz), been going to Mass every week, start RCIA this summer, and will later be getting confirmed next Easter Vigil. I found out fast after curiosity and research that not everything in "The Chosen" is directly from the Bible but that doesn't dismiss the positive effects the series has had. Just like with anything else, you've got to do your research.
Stand your ground. I'm sad. It shows you how discernment is out the window. It's a Christian sacred cow and I guess they felt you were raining on it. Christians have gotten upset because you don't participate in Halloween? That speaks volumes and makes me wonder about them..... 🫤
