Having the same days off, ETH and I set off for a couple days shooting trains on "The Range". In this first part, we stopped at Askov on the Hinckley Sub to shoot a Northbound UP Coal Train meeting BNSF Superior to Northtown manifest. With a bit of intel, we headed to Highland for a meet between DMIR loads and empties. After the meet, and while the loads were going through the Highland Scales, we went north of the siding to catch the empties, then headed south of Highland to catch the loads as they departed for Two Harbors. It was then off the catch the afternoon ore loads on LTV (a pretty predictable operation). We caught them first at Salem and followed them down to Taconite Harbor. Enjoy and stay tuned for Part 2!
