I stumbled upon this randomly but man I’m glad I did. There’s more motor than boat 😂 they are barely in the water, and they sound so good. I couldn’t imagine piloting one of those amazing machines
I grew up in the 70's spending the weekends at Clear Lake, CA. When I think of boats, this is what I see. My family and all our friends had flat bottom V-drives. The best ski boats before the Ski Natique style came along. Thanks for the memories.
Happy new year 2021111111 we all Win kool thanks I sure would of liked to kept my Mandello v drive , sold it for 300 dollar’s 💸 kool nice 👍 love this , nice boats doing nice speed runs, kool thanks BigAl California.
Thank you very much!!! I was thinking about your event New Years day wondering about how much enjoyment you all had. Back here in Michigan the Sanger is waiting for the ice to melt. One of these days, I would love to attend. Awesome time. I know what I will be watching in the days to come.
@@vdrivevideo You are most welcome. Colder than a brass toilet seat. I have some time for P/M getting the Sanger ready our summer season. Love your videos. Do you have t-shirts of the event?
Play Time is a Flat Bottom V Drive that twisted the yoke to a 6 Inch shaft didn't break Just molded to a new shape ! Love these V Drives Mine was a 1965 Fred Wickens Engine a 1968 Chevelle in GM Marine codes OFC-9XZ UNDER 4T 4U AND 4W
I was just talking about this tradition to a guy in Minnesota who's tradition is to take the sleds out on frozen lakes. Great to see you all doing it this year. Central California Watching
Dude in the red boat at 30 minutes in...you almost bounced right out of the boat. You should find some way to restrain yourself without a full seatbelt. You're gonna bounce out and get hurt if you don't remedy that bouncy seat situation! Sick boat btw!!
Awesome video Jerry! Hope to make it to Elsinore one of these years. Our CFW NYD party has very few v-drives anymore and even less making laps. Was good to see Scott QJ, been a while since we got to hang out. Good bunch of boats and looks like a good time!!
I know there were only a dozen manufactured (if that)and it might be a stretch, but were there any Kula Craft boats out there? I would like to see if any are still around….tia
The boat at 27:06 it's going fast and it looks looks fuel is being forced out by the force of the air going by at that speed? If that true? Does anyone know? If yes then would a cowl over the top of the engine help? Or does that not hurt performance? Sure doesn't seem like it does! The boat dies right after that..maybe something else was wrong?
I see not everyone heeded the request to wear helmets for the high-speed runs.......only the really fast, really smart ones. Still, I loved the sounds these boats make. Reminds me of the Sounds of the Drag Boats LP that I bought as a budding, young gear head.
Thanks man this brought back alot of great memories from when I lived at Lake Berryessa in the Napa Valley. I am working on getting back up there with a new boat soon! Be safe and Happy New Year!
Well, isn't this nice. Nice sunny day, folks all getting together and tootling around the lake. Fishing must not be too good in this lake, though, didn't see anyone trolling.
It is pretty much a mud hole with no real outlet from the lake to keep water flowing and clean. It isn't much of a fishing lake. There is a small privately run lake for fishing a few miles North of here and there are other lakes an hour or so away which are better for fishing. The ocean is closer to an hour away(34 miles or so over some mountains/hills that separate the valleys/inland area from the coast), but I have only fished fresh water.
as a made boatie in Australia just love these vids, But it would be nice to show a few of the other boats also, not just the quickest ones.. not sure what else you film but i hit the sub button hopping to see more. Eddie Sydney Australia
Thanks Eddie! I'm not sure I understand what you mean regarding "the other boats" . What other boats? I shoot events with Hot Rod boats because they're unique and interesting. I shoot everybody that attends. If you're suggestiong I shoot the average weekend boats ie wake board boats and bayliners I don't think anyone would care to see that. I know I wouldn't. Thanks for watching!
Those boats are SICK!!! I just can't believe they're not wearing life jackets and helmets. The people who don't even wear life jackets...you're fish food. If ANYTHING goes wrong...you're dead. Neck broken instantly, arms ripped off, legs, head ripped off. Have you seen these kinds of accidents? Not wearing a life jacket causes search and rescue to waste resources looking for your dead body parts. And to the guys who took a teenage girl with no safety equipment, no life jacket, and no helmet, you better thank God that he kept her safe. That's unbelievably reckless behavior with her life. You hit a wave wrong and that tiny little rocket ship goes sideways, spits you off where you will violently skid across the water surface for at least 5 or 6 violent seconds..over 1000 feet or more, it chucked that gorgeous hemi at the same time, still running, and it's chasing all of you down, tumbling..and still running. The best outcome would be if you broke your neck in the initial toss out the boat just so you wouldn't feel any pain. Ridiculously reckless. Suicidal even. Guys..and girls..wear a life jacket and helmet. And please don't ever take anyone out without same..please? Unless it's old uncle Milton who wants to go to heaven to meet up with his beloved Mildred.
No. Because it’s not sanctioned and the liability and safety requirements for drag racing would make these days impossible. Just enjoy it for what it is, pretty easy to see who’s the fastest. No reason to get anyone hurt.
