Let there be no doubt: it was the rich who made tax complicated in the first place by lobbying to add hundreds of exemptions and deductions for items that are not even needs, they are luxuries. (e.g. buying a yacht or a horse are deductions!) And let there also be no doubt: when they talk about wanting to 'simplify' the tax code, what they meant is that they want to lower the base tax rate for the rich... and STILL keep those same deductions, so their effective tax rates becomes lower than their lowest paid employee!

is there a situation where you can legally prove that it's impossible for someone to "not recall" something? such as journals or other evidence of that person writing down what happened? i feel like by sessions saying he doesn't remember anything pretty much makes him immune from possibly being charged with lying under oath in the future, which i understand is the point but... seems like a shitty loophole.

Let's be clear here. What Al Franken did was wrong. Period. The photo was totally out of line, and the skit was a form of harassment. But Franken called for a Senate investigation into his actions and immediately apologized. Franken has also sponosred and co-sponsored numerous pieces of legislation that empower women. If voters take him out of office, then so be it. That would be a completely understandable reaction. But STOP showing his photo next to Weinstein, O'Riely, Cosby and Roy Moore's photos. Franken's transgression was nothing equivalent to what those men did. Franken did not rape and/or physiclly injure women. He also did not lie about his actions and smear the integrity of his accuser. He did not systematically plan on how he'd corner dozens of women alone and assault them. He forcibly kissed and groped a single woman in front of an audience during a comedy skit. Wrong? Yes. The equivalent of Moore, Weinstein, and Cosby? No. Not by a long shot. And that difference needs to be understood.

I don't see that Franken actually touched the woman. I do NOT defend this kind of behavior at all, but to be honest, I think he just showed remarkably poor judgment and comedic insight. It just looks sophomoric and stupid, but, I do not see that his hands actually made contact. Legally, touching or physical contact are integral to the definition of sexual assault. However, in today's atmosphere and the court of public opinion, I doubt this would make an iota of difference. One of my favorite aphorisms is, "To a man with a hammer, everything is a nail." (Another favorite, "Only food runs." That's for you hunter/gatherers out there.) Bottom line, I think this is a serious business, which means we look with unflinching honesty. Above all, honesty.

That was a deceptive title, two sentences about Franken and the rest about Sessions and Trump. Why wasn't the title about the focus of the clip which was clearly Sessions? I get it, you want people to know that you actually mentioned Franken once. Maybe you could have mentioned how he was one of the first writers for SNL or his old videos for SNL.
