Join me and a skilled team of arborists as we tackle an ambitious project in someone's backyard. In this video, we're tasked with removing two towering fir trees that loom over a small yard, leaving us little room for error.
Watch as we employ a zip line technique, carefully maneuvering the branches out of the trees and directly to the wood chipper. The precision required is crucial to avoid any damage to the nearby house, making every cut and swing of the ropes a nail-biting moment.
In this video, we focus on removing the branches and tops of the two massive trees, setting the stage for an exciting Part 2. Stay tuned for the next episode where we'll dive into the process of chunking down the towering tree trunks, showcasing our expertise and the power of our equipment.
Thanks for watching, and don't forget to subscribe for more videos like this one!

I helped my dad take down a tree once. Nowhere near as tall, and we used ziplining to take down the branches while he was tied into the tree. Its reallt fascinating to watch knowing how much effort and planning and practice goes into taking down trees and maintaining safety. Wonderful to watch.

Fun fact: squirrels can survive a fall, they can't be killed by terminal velocity. Was sitting on my deck watching videos last year, umbrella up, and a squirrel fell out of the oak above me. Landed 3 feet away from my foot.....acorns flew out of his mouth(scared the crap out of me!!!!). He didn't move for about 30 seconds and then got up and walked away. Even the babies can fall out of the nest and the mom will come and pick them up. Love the video! Have a great weekend!!

I am 42 years old and have done tree removal since I was a kid "family business" and everyday my dad prayed before we started our day, sometimes the customers would join us and sometimes they would stand back not sure what to think but never had a complaint about it, I would say 99% liked it. Keep up the good work both in the tree industry and in the ministry of Jesus!

Hey Jake, a couple of things. First the famous last words of some climbers were "I don't normally tie in twice when..." You know anything can happen at any time. i.e. @20:52. You also know that a chainsaw can cut through a steel core flipline in a second. It doesn't take anything to throw your climb line around a couple of branches above you. A second thing is when zipping those dougs don't do an undercut. Cutmore into the collar, but not all the way off, and allow the branch to peel to hang down and settle before cutting it all the way off. That will take some energy out of the zip and you won't have the branch moving side to side on the way down. Avoiding stuff like eves and gutters.

@stuby2014
@stuby2014 9 месяцев назад
You must be from the UK. Reality proves it has its place. The peeling method does work. If you had actually done Douglas firs you are either cutting to much before they peel or you're taking to big of a branch in which case you should use a controlled speed line.@@edwardallen2696

baby squirrels are always a tough dilemma. honestly if you leave the nest to the side and the babies are still okay the mother will come to get them when you guys leave. they usually have 5 or so nests in the immediate area so the babies will be fine if you leave them alone. it's just hard when you're trying to work a job and it can be a hinderance to the job to try to get them down safely.

Good job! Perfectly executed! How many batteries did you empty on that job? Can hardly believe it worked with one charge! As for the descender: try the Skylotec Spark! Snmoothest descender ever, and none of that antipanic crap (wich is great for beginners, no doubt about it) on that one. Or if you look for a wrench replacement you can use for up and down the TAZ Love 2 or 3 (only difference Love2 only changes rope when off the carabiner and 3 opens while still on) otherwise it kinda combines the "no hot hands" with ascending as with a wrench or zigzag... Stay safe and keep up the good work!
