Oh my goodness, Pam, your Eden climbing rose is absolutely gorgeous, especially with that clematis trailing up alongside it. I never would’ve thought to pair the two, but it makes perfect sense. The colors blend together so nicely and the trellis will always have something blooming. Very well done it’s absolutely gorgeous!!! 💜🌸💜🌸💜Liz

Welllll...after much consideration, I am going to turn down the offer. Sometimes the $$$ are tempting then I think about what I really want to do with my day to day. I video'd this 5 days ago and did a lot of soul-searching since and it just wasn't sitting well. So I bowed out.

Thank you! We are facing 100 degree temps this week for several days so we shall see how all the plants do. The roses may stop blooming for a bit but will return once it cools down again.

Thank you. The pollinators are thick and I am so thankful. I have enough good bugs to combat most bad and it all works well.

@@FlowerPatchFarmhouse This week you could count the amount bees on one hand this week in the garden and there are no ladybirds or butterflies. We live in the countryside where there is a lot of corn and rape seed grown and the farmers spray chemicals. Also a lot of gardeners use chemicals in there gardens not realising they are killing bees and good insects.

Beautiful tour Pam, I do love the colour of your deck completed, I can see the touch of blue in the colour and it works so lovely to showcase your planters. I have something eating my clematis. they grow so nice and then I look and they are hanging wilted and it looks like someone took a pair of scissors and just cut it. No eating of stems or roots. I think it might be a Vole. My verbascum is reblooming but it is shorter in stature which is good because the first flush is always so leggy and floppy. Have a great week!
@FlowerPatchFarmhouse
@FlowerPatchFarmhouse 6 дней назад
Interesting about the clematis, I may have something similar with the one in the container with my Tess roses. One of the vines will be just fine and they next day it is wilting and dying off. I may just take it back to about 8 inches and see what it does. It certainly doesn't look like it will give me any flowers right now so I can't see that it would hurt. I am sorely tempted to remove the verbascum from the Artists garden. During the heat of the day the flowers close up and it looks like they are dead sticks on top of the too big of a base and I just don't enjoy how it looks. I am becoming impatient with them and am itching to do something about it. The ones in the other borders don't bother me as they are not competing with what is around them so much. I will give it one more week and if I don't feel any better about them. Out they go.

Thank you, I appreciate it. To be honest, after videoing this I decided to turn it down. I am not a spring chicken and my day to day time is precious to me to spend as I please. I may not make nearly the amount of $$ with my garden projects but I do enjoy it so much. I am probably crazy to turn it down.

Your garden is so lovely! Whimsical and enchanting. As gardeners we all face challenges particular to our location and climate. For me, zone 7 a/b it's red clay and high humidity. My verbena bonariensis and monarda get powdery mildew despite my best efforts. I gave up on hollyhocks because of the rust. I'm happy to see your laid back approach of just removing the leaves......our gardens don't have to be perfect!
@FlowerPatchFarmhouse
@FlowerPatchFarmhouse 6 дней назад
I developed the laid back approach when I found myself not enjoying my garden as much as I could with trying to keep things perfect. My life is too crazy and once I developed a more relaxed attitude it became the stress relieving haven I craved. I hear you on leaning into plants that do well all through the seasons in our own climate, there are so many options out there, all beautiful in their own right.

@@FlowerPatchFarmhouse I completely agree, although I will always have a vision of an English cottage garden, I have had to find what plants will give me that feel and actually thrive here. It's always a learning process, and that's one of the challenges I enjoy. Your channel is very inspiring, I hope you find time to make more videos.

I found out from the County master gardener what the volunteer "phlox looking" plant with GORGEOUS multi-color flowers was. Losing the blooms now but he said it was a wild Sweet William phlox. Makes sense since I broadcast sowed a wildflower mix last year. Soooo pretty.
@FlowerPatchFarmhouse

Take a close up photo of the leaves and bloom of what you thought was Jasmina and ask the company that sent it which rose it is. Companies don't mind. I've done that before. Also, on something like that, it's easier for the company than a local master gardener to identify since the company only sells a certain number of varieties so it narrows down the possibilities.
@FlowerPatchFarmhouse
@FlowerPatchFarmhouse 5 дней назад
Thank you, that is a great idea! I will do that this week as the blooms are full and you can really see the color.

The blanket flower are having a great year. They almost look fake. The coneflower started blooming in spots a few days ago and Mullien is done and wanted it to reseed. The hollyhocks got rust and think I will have to move them to wildflower garden if at all. Don’t know if they have a resistant variety, but think I will need it. I will try to spray with copper and read aspirin may help. I trimmed most of the leaves. It just won’t stop raining! Just since March we have had 31.19” not including winter and our avg annual is 37”. We are getting more tomorrow and it looks like most everyday next week. It’s crazy. Always by the 4th I expect a lot of fireworks in the flower dept. Astilbe, liatris, bee balm, daisies, roses, day lilies and then there are some new to me that are lagging. The Gomphrena-one is such a fluorescent purple it’s amazing color and hope they bush out as they are doing well, but ice plant, brown eyed Susan’s vine, sweet peas I don’t understand. I’ve tried all in different areas and Pftt, nothing to write home about. Sometimes that happens here and I think they need a longer growing season than I can offer. Some new roses are really surprising me and one looked near neon orange and yellow on a cloudy day. The scent on some is fantastic! And an odd thing I noticed today is a yellow with wine daylily looked washed out and I think it’s because of the rain. They are all so exciting when you’ve never grown them before. Lol, the toothache plant is starting also-it’s an odd bit of a thing and I just seen James Prigioni eat one-too funny. I haven’t been brave enough. I’m busy pruning to create air flow on everything and to prevent tree damage during storms. I trimmed salvia today and as I was looking at the Veronica I think I like them better. Your garden is really doing its thing also-beautiful! You still have Sweet Williams?! Our zones are similar but the flowers behave differently. I’m tuckered out as I tackled a bridal wreath that was overgrown by more than a decade today. It took most of the day and it looks so happy!
@FlowerPatchFarmhouse

I love Bridal Wreath, this neighborhood used to be filled with them in every yard but many have been removed instead of revamped, which makes me sad. Many of the homes sat empty for a while and though they looked a bit rough I knew if they would just get some TLC they would be beautiful. It is interesting how different flowers behave in varying circumstances. And your rain is just crazy. We are in the midst of a record breaking heat wave for this time of year. I don't mind it as I love the heat but it can stress the plants.

@@FlowerPatchFarmhouse Nearby tonight a couple counties had 3-4” on top of about the same two days ago. All the waterways are High. I forgot about the wild black caps and found a few in the cloud of mosquitoes and they were bland because of the rain. I seriously think I may need to put plastic over onions and garlic-and so hope the potatoes aren’t rotting because I can’t cover that many. And I really hope those rain chances next week are few. Thankful for sandy soil. I seen it was quite hot now in N CA. That’s something I can’t handle here as it is usually very humid also and lately like a jungle. Seems there are issues for many gardeners.

Great video...as always! Question: How long can you leave lilies in pots in the ground? I have so many VOLES!!!
@FlowerPatchFarmhouse
@FlowerPatchFarmhouse 6 дней назад
Great question. They do increase and make more bulbs so I suppose it depends on how large of a pot you use. These were small 1 gallon pots so I will most likely need to pull them up in late Fall and either divide them out or put then in larger pots. Truthfully, I am winging this for now to see how it all works, so far it is doing the job. I will update as time goes on.
