I freaking love this kind of video. I feel like we get used to over edited videos and I loved the break of just listening to you ramble for an entire period about the game. Obviously can’t do it every video, but I hope you know it’s appreciated.

The look on Cam's face when he opened the pack in the end is priceless. I had the exact same reaction yesterday. Like... all these efforts... for THAT!!! the 5 player pack after a win is a better deal than the 3 pack as the final reward of the event. WHO at EA tested this???? I'm no Trump fan, but someone should hear "you're fired" over this. Over this and the last Tuesday event. It's like we're in a fantasy world. We had very good events this year and instead of repeating what's working... the rewards dropped to a total waste of time...

I agree that it's unfortunate that maxing winning the SQ doesn't guarantee top rewards. When I first got the game in November I battled hard to get 40k and reach the top rank. It was set and forget. When I came back to gather my rewards it was an out loud wtf moment as my ranking droppped out of the top 100. Greater rewards would reduce the amount of money that people with more money than brains drop into this game. That's the gravy train that ea rides with this title.

Squad Battles has been reduced to me spamming deke behind the net to acquire objectives faster, so I'm all for season/franchise mode with awards built in. Having a HUT rush style fantasy draft with the inform players for that two week to month span. Maybe have it where those teams can be archived and used in that mode only or something.

I learned my lesson from the Toronto Maple Leafs 85+ pack where I ended up with an 85 OVR Walter Broda after doing the objectives.

As a new player of NHL I find it pretty frustrating to score when doing objectives. Even when it’s on rookie. I never knew the CPU goalie was set to all-star which makes sense now. Another thing. Should I be changing my lines while in game? I never thought to do that lol. Thanks for the video!

The HUT content is abysmal, I stopped doing their challenges completely. I don’t understand why the rewards are this bad. I was new to the game, but man, I am not buying NHL25. It’s as if their marketing department is making the gameplay content, everything revolves around you caving in and gambling on their terrible packs and dropping tons of money. I hate it, terrible game because of this!

just completed that set obj in about an hour yesterday and felt the exact same way. EA teased us with those division obj packs. I pulled a 95 Mackinnon and a 93 Oshie in the first division pack. Since then ive been doing those similar obj in hopes the pack reward will yield the same results. They have not.....That being said, everyone should definitely try the team items and customization exchange sets. I was doing a spring clean like you did in your prev vid and i pulled a 93 Zibanejad!

The goals objective was painful. I was playing on pro difficultly and I struggled to score goals. I had 2 rangers players who were both d men in my lineup before the event. I also bought a 85 kreider for insurance in the AH. I relied mostly on those two d men for that goal objective. I just have the dekes objective left.

Madden squad battles was really good in like 20/21. If I remember correct, you get your typical event team with double points. After that, I think you got 4 teams every other day and then had 8 teams on the weekend. They kind of forced a limit on how many games you could play at once. Plus, they also had a guarantee rewards then top 100+ would fight for better rewards. I thought it was the best SB ever. Couldn’t burn myself out and was always looking forward to the refresh.

Came here to say the same thing. At one point, Madden had great SB rewards, and reaching Ultimate was possible for everyone if they put in the time. Was it TOO generous? Maybe. But what it did was kept people playing the damn game...which should be EA's #1 objective.

The problem with offline hut is that you still compete against other players when grinding for most points.. I like your idea. I remember playing NHL 16 offline hut with divisions. Much better because you compete against yourself and not other players

The forward line change when you play SB on rookie is always broken. I figured it was implemented to try to stop us from gaming SB.

Ultimate team needs a hut draft like other ea sports games have and a salary cap mode for online matches so people who dont have as much time can play without facing a full stacked team everytime

I received two of the same players in my pack all 80 base cards… why are these objectives a waste of time. Give me an 84 or 85 something… I have taken tradeable rewards the last two weeks and haven’t pulled anything over an 85. Playing 50 plus games a week, it’s mind numbing and no insensitive to play the game anymore when there’s no guarantee of getting anything for resources.

I am done with this game and next years too, if nothing changes fundamentally. The packs in the shop are more expensive. A pack with 3 power ups costs as much as a last years pack with 5. Just one example. The events are crappier. They are not able to fix the shit-goalies for years now. All that nice talk from the Development-team prior to the release turned out to be just bullshit.

You’re trying to make better game modes right. SB specifically. You had the right idea with a mini season with playoffs. Be if your ever played hut rush. It is the worst to choose between what EA gives you. Why go through the whole process of what you was talking about with revealing different cards as you go. Just use you team. That you already have. You’re trying to put lipstick 80”s alyssa Milano. She’s already hot you don’t need that. Honestly I can’t think of a better game mode. But the idea of getting cards as you go through your mini season is painful. My idea for ea is a simple basic one to do with zone abilities. Have all the slots empty. And be able to filled by oneself personally. With cards what have the corresponding synergy that you would like to have. You’d have to pull them in packs or buy them from the market. I’m thinking you say. Well everyone would have the same synergies. But I’d think you’d be wrong.

I know this is a global game with people that don't speak english as their first language but I absolutely couldn't follow most of it and I don't understand sentences formatted like poetry stanzas that don't rhyme. I don't understand what part of the game is 80s Alyssa Milano. I'm more inclined to think Squad Battles is more like 90s Steve Irkle, myself. The progression of playing through a game mode and turning over cards makes perfect sense, and you would be using "you team that you already have." It would just be less about opening random packs after completion, and more about being rewarded as you play ala flashback objectives. That's more engaging than the lackluster packs we get as rewards. It also does away with this stupid "results processing" way of delivering rewards. I get it. They want you to log on every day and "do your chores." You could still achieve that with this idea.
