Always love to see some Canadian lit! Out of Earth seems really intriguing.

My story of reading The Van. I was travelling up and down to Belfast doing a part time course on the bus. ( around 80 miles). I was reading the book and having to stuff my fist in my mouth to stop me roaring with laughter. Then there’s a scene in the pub between Rabbit and pal talking about redundancy. I cried ( big snotty tears) and I didn’t have a tissue. Love the whole triology. If you want more from Roddy Doyle read The Woman Who Walked Into Doors. Great but difficult. It’s about domestic abuse.

I was recently in Iceland on holidays too! I have that book but haven’t read it yet. I enjoy Sarah Moss very much. I loved the Commitments both book and film and often play the fabulous soundtrack even today after all these years after reading the book. Another good week Bob.

I only just heard about the Republic of Consciousness Prize this year from Eyes on Indie. It sounds like an incredible prize!

I really need to get to Mr. Loverman. I've had a copy ever since Evaristo won the Booker.
