Wish this was a complete product. Not getting every unique card made for this product and having such a high price tag is a kick in the face. I was excited when this was announced but as more cards and information was leaked it feels lackluster. This should've been like the game night boxes. What is the purpose of randomization in this product? Opening multiple of the same booster isnt smart game design or very fun.
The fact that these are RANDOMIZED decks when this is advertised as a COMPLETE CLUE EXPERIENCE is absolutely ludicrous. Was fully intending on purchasing this product. Absolutely not anymore.
Agreed! I was super disappointed. I thought it’d be some kind of commander meets Clue game, where you could pick one of the suspects as your commander and a small readymade deck of 50 cards or something. You know, like in how Clue you pick a suspect as your playing piece. What a missed opportunity! I could have designed better than this and if it wasn’t so expensive, I’d make the six decks myself!
Big fan of magic and I'm always open to exploring what they come up with next but what's stopping anyone who owns a copy of Clue from using the cards from that (weapon, room, and suspect) and then using their own Magic cards to play? Now I'm kinda of excited to bust out my old 50th Anniversary Edition of Clue to try this hybrid Magic mashup.
Good point! You could even do it without a copy of Clue, just by picking a set of Magic creatures, equipment, and lands to substitute for the Clue cards
@@gresh1134 great idea!! Makes me want to use New Cappenna cards for the setting in lieu of Clue cards. As a newer player of magic I have a much higher affinity for New Cappenna than Ravnica.
@@lewiscucchiara8296 the way I look at it is just a new "win con" condition by solving the case first. I'm sure that's why during play testing they bumped up the life total to 30 because more games were ending through traditional combat than solving the case when the life total was at 20.
I was looking forward to tighter integration between the deduction of Clue and Magic somehow, but it feels like this is just replacing the Clue die with attacks on other players. Which I can easily do myself and it doesn't seem all that innovative. It's already been done casually, but if Thunder Junction had a Bang! crossover with Magic and just dealt out the classic Bang! roles in multiplayer Magic, that would still feel like a better blending of the games.
while I am disappointed by the need to buy multiple sets to have a complete set just to board game this. I am still excited to play this when it comes out. Only buying one though
Hellou there, thanks for having the time to create a mtg-clue version. is a good exploration of a franchise that both magic and clue players can live. may i live you here to the designers two questions? 1) who you pursue the version of the mtg-clue game that actually can you play your evidence cards on the game, who it go, on testing? 2) why did it not arrive as the final version. thx alot.
Just opened my box and was a bit disappointed that I got 2 of the blue dimir packs, not blaming anyone but with a possible 20 packs was hoping to not get doubles, what rotten luck,
Honestly I’m not bothered by the riffle shuffle. What I’m bothered about is that it’s not arched back. Ya gotta bend the cards both ways to balance it out.
They're from pre-seed packs in the clue box, so it's basically jumpstart packs in a new format. Of course you can always buy singles off people and I'm sure lots of people will be cracking this and selling the stuff cause of the nice lands and suspects.
sry but you didnt explained the rules good or even well. you explained it for some people who played clue before or so. but a real step by step from the full beginning and explain how the suspect works. you suspected that most of us allkready played clue -_- (bad suspect)
That's... because it's true ? Clue is one of the most popular board games, it's safe to assume that most of us viewers (and MTG players) have already played it. And to be fair, I don't think it's hard to understand.
They did not explain the rules of the game in depth and the fact they can explain it the way they did and we can understand it shows it was very lack luster creativity
It looks like you have the potential to open multiple of the same packs. That is the reason I won't be buying this product at all. Maybe some singles of the characters, since the price of those is going to tank because you always get them in that product.
this video is messy 🙃 it feels like nobody is really prepared to explain the gameplay and just remembering important tidbits as they go... maybe a more edited video would've been better?
I know you guys prolly won't take it into consideration, but let me have your attention for 2 seconds. Maybe add something called "Ranged" for archers and similar creature spells. Where they can spend extra mana and tap it to do damage to taget creature or plainswalker equal to its power without going to battle or being blocked or if he is blocked doesnt take damage. Just like hes using the bow. And as a nerf make it so he is not able to block, or if he does block he cant attack next turn. So basicaly tap him for blocking and he doesnt untap until end of your upcoming turn.. idk it just makes sense to me.. why have a bow if you cant use it. Just an idea!
@@brendanlock5046 It's funny because other cards do have this effect but just giving this to all archers as a eratta would be terrible. In general the slang for this effect is "punch" or "biting" Where one creature deals damage equal to it's power to another in a one sided way unlike "fighting".
Maybe don't make up new slang for it but a one sided shot makes sense. It doesn't make sense at all for them not too have an ability like that. I mean they are archers for God sake lol
