Fitting a Weelye RX37 or RX74 controller to a power wheels kids ride on toy car
In this video I show you how to fit and wire in a Weelye controller to your kids ride on toy car or power wheels. I convert a 6V car in this video that did not have a controller fitted previously.
The wiring used for a Weelye RX37 or Welly RX74 controller, is the same, so you can swap between 12v or 24v quite easily.
When fitting these Weelye controller to your car, you can use this kit to convert your power wheels to be remote control.
You can buy the kit using the below links, there are also other Wellye kits available besides the Weelye RX37 or Weelye RX74, the 7 pin connectors are all the same on Weelye controller.

Below is a pin out diagram/map for a 7 pin connection for a Weelye Controller:
Red: On/Off Switch
White: On/Off Switch
Brown: Unused
Black: Pedal (Ground Wire)
Blue: Reverse
Orange: Forward
Yellow: High/Low Speed Switch

Thank you for the great video and information! I turned a 99$ Kidzone ride on into a 4 wheel drive 24" cut with 4" remote adjusted cut/deck height lawn mower with BT AM/FM SD with marine grade speakers, added headlamps and Govee wifi running lights. Uses 3 12v to operate almost everything and two 18v Black and Decker to run the cutter. Added a low battery auto switch over for that. It has about a 120lb weight limit now with the front and back tires independently driven, I'm at about 50lbs with all the extra gadgets lol. Was thinking about adding the Lidar from an old YTE smart vac but that would just be a nightmare. Problem now is the RX-37 harness shorted out at the switch end and for the life of me can't find the harness selling separately anywhere. Can find all the other ones but that. I just don't want to buy the whole remote assembly again. Thanks again for a great upload!

Thanks man, I'm really glad it helped you out. Have you got any videos of the mower running at all? Would love to see it, also I did see a guy who fitted a sort of lidar system to one of these a few years back, let me see if I can find the video for you.

@@Stitch76 Hey. Welcome. No videos just yet, only did a couple test runs to work out some kinks. I'll probably temp repair the burnt harness for now and do a quick over view vid. Just wanna make sure its safe. Oh wow, thank you, I would be totally grateful if you can find that. Every little bit helps. I was an electrical engineer in the military and a mechanic for years, but its so much easier for me to build things with visual aides. I'll let you know when I get that uploaded here.

Yeah I get you on the visual aides, I'm the same thing, which is why I made this videos, oddly enough I use them as a reference point for myself as well haha

What’s the difference between a RX88 12V control box and all the other models (eg. RX18, RX43, RX74, etc). I have several electric airplane ride-ons that use RX88 but I can’t seem to find that for sale anywhere, even online. There are so many other models but not that one in particular. Can any of the others be used as a replacement or substitute? I’m sorry if you explained that in video, but as I wasn’t able to use volume while watching it, I decided to just comment question instead.

Personally I've not seen an RX88 before so can't comment on it, the only real differences between the controllers are 12v or 24v and single or dual motor control, there is also some that can cope with higher amp draw

i had some switches i tried change in place of the included one but mixed up some wires by mistake, the board smoked but i put on the old switch and it still worked, i wired the other switch correctly which then lit up but finally burn out a trace. My question is can i bridge the trace on the board and it still work ? also i don’t understand why the trace blew my second attempt when wiring. had black wire to ground, white the main power, and red to the button light. Am i missing something with switchs do they have to match or something? any help would be awesome ty

Hi there, so which version of the board are you running? To be honest, I have never attempted to repair one of these boards, they are so cheap from China normally, that it's just not worth repairing them. The quality control on these boards is not fantastic, so it could have just been a badly built board, had boards arrive brand new with failed joints and caps beforehand. What car are you fitting this into?

@@Stitch76its the rx19. i bridged the trace and it works fine with the included button. i think i might of been wiring the button incorrectly ? im not to sure.

Hey so I am in the process of turning my son's car into remote control and these links are expired or just gone...I have bought the controller and receiver but didn't get the cord because I was told I didn't need it...but I can't figure out how it works, any way you could help?

Oh my gosh thank you for one for replying...and I got the same brand wellye...he has a paw patrol car tho I know the wiring might be different but I know there are alot of lights on paw patrol that I'm not sure if there are wires for
