@@melvingibsons812 This episode was from 1998. Claude's car accident was in 2002. I think this was more of a case of the animators not knowing who the rest of Ween band members were beyond Dean and Gene.
Claude was in the bathroom after eating the world famous "Stomach Cleanser" from Carl Jr's. So he contacted one of his disciples to play for him that day
What I like about this is they didn't use the actual track, but recorded something that sounded like a live version. It would have probably come off as weird if it was just the studio recording.
