ween reaches their fans all in a similar way. and its a way no one can really explain, just pure awe for the band. no other bands music has ever hit me the way weens does.
Sometimes when I feel sort of down I listen to Gene Ween's guitar solo in this version and without fail it makes me feel so much better. I'm going to miss Ween so much if they're truly done.
Fun fact: This song was written about/after a heated disagreement between Gene and Dean was hashed out. The tender situation occurred at the gas station Dean worked at in New Hope (same place Pumpin’ for the Man was written about).
@@timdoyle7961 Technically it's about a breakup. As in, the breakup of Ween. Apparently Ween were having some difficulties staying together in their early years.
I want a record of me appreciating this vid on YT comment history, but the truth is, nothing I say can justify to you all how much I love this song. Incredible rendition. Blown away.
I kind of felt the same way but it just means there is so much material that is new to me. Maybe old stuff for other fans but 2 years ago Shinola Vol 1 was all new to me.
This is killer! With headphones you can even hear a bottle lose its life at 3:57 mark. This is good stuff. Been a loyal fan since chocolate n cheese album was pumped into my life circa 93 I believe. Ween, you guys deserve so much more. That's for sure
Seriously.. Thank you for taping this. I had a version very similar on an old computer/mix tapes. I really dislike the album version, but this is one of my favorite things to listen to of all time. Thank you.
I love this version. I also delight in guava era renditions and their divine digital itchiness. I feel this ones charm lies int it's smooth, comfortable, beepless flow. Time has rounded off the edges and to great effect. So exquisite I could lick it!
*Damn this goes back to when youtube was 1 year old. 480p was probably High Def then. I love Ween for many reasons and one of them is their attitude towards the distribution of their copyrighted material without impairment. They could have cashed in more in their careers if they wanted to be dicks about it but they are not that way.*
Just letting you know I think about this comment every time I watch this video, which is a lot. Actually crazy to find it again and to see only 2 votes
@@delilh325 Whats crazy to me is I didn't know about Ween until 5 years ago. If I had grown up on the East Coast instead of the West Coast maybe would have found them sooner. Right now just glad to have tickets to see them in Vegas Oct 1st 2021.
@@Alilretard1 I know them for just a couple of years, and until last year I didn't actually put the time to know them deeply. I wish I could see them live, enjoy the show for me too
And Ween is still reaping the rewards. Throwing down sold out tours that are absolute fire. I never saw them pre breakup, but I camped out with the tapers last weekend, and loved the hell out of a community that seemed to be willing to do anything, for anyone. I love a lot of bands, but there isnt another band like Ween, and there never will be.
....this song makes me sad and happy....confirms why Ween is my favorite band....all the many of other of dozens of original songs too...truly the best!
They played this when I saw them this past year in asheville and I thought of this video ive watched for years hoping that the next time I got to see them they might pull it out. Man did they make it fucking tender too, it was fucking beautiful
Wetlands 1991. That's the brownest. Hands down. Brownest show ever. I hate using the term brown, but if there was anything that deserved that description it's that show.
@TheStallion3 Extremely brown version but are you basing this only on videos? Because if you get some shows from 80s? Specifically 87 some radio event in New Jersey. If you can find that show you will have found the brownest version. My hands down covers your tiny hands down. Brownest of brown.
i know seriously... they're old stuff was like the sickest... but i do like this song a loth better live... and their new stuff is really cool too.... basically ween is the coolest band you can ever listen to... haha its cool when mickey (deaner) sings
This was uploaded in August 2006 and claims to be in Lawrence, KS. According to BrownBase, the last time they played in Lawrence before that date was in 2005, November 28th. They played 44 songs that show, this one being the 35th.
I've learned that a lot of Ween fans don't even know they're Ween fans. And when I show the younger versions of this song, they drift into childhood n happiness. Ween.Live.Die.
State this ache as the final break Tender situation, create a good illusion Feel the grip of your salvation This is indeed a tender situation Make a move man, state your case Taste the waste man, taste the waste What is your place in my glorification Yeah, this is really a tender situation Get off the pot man, shake and bake Taste the waste boy, taste the waste Pump it up or stray from that old station Yeah dude this is really a tender situation Tender situation, tender situation, tender situation
