I understand your point but even with just simple aging, a man's voice can sound different in his early 50s than it did in his early 20s. Billy Corgan isn't a big drinker or smoker either. His voice is not the same.
I always forget about Weezer until I realize I know more than half of these songs hard. And you don't hear one wrong note out of them. They are so so locked in.
I was there that day. We sat down in front of the stage a half an hour early just to be close to the front. My phone was dead and I wasn’t able to record the show but I was so thankful because I was living in the moment and I loved this show. I can’t wait for the next meadows
Attending concerts that totally pull you in are not often. It feels great for sure. I saw Ry Cooder in a club in San Francisco. It was wall to wall groove. I started doing the grateful dead hippy dance in a trance, something that never happens. lol
That's how we used to do it in the day when we didn't have cell phones, it was all about living in the moment I've been to countless concerts before cell phones were invented and those days a lot of times you couldn't even bring cameras in.

much appreciation bud! Cant ever give out enuff thanks to any/all the ones out there on RU-vid who go out of their way to post up the timestamps for each song within a show. Comes in handy more than ever when out driving long distances late at night & keeps me from hvng to continuously look away from road to find whatever song being wherever thruout setlist.
This is a great set, perfectly timed with an incredible response from new and unreleased material. I would love to see them do more medley's these days to squeeze in more of their catalog. The band has been steadily working for 30 years successfully. There are only a handful of bands who have pulled this off. My hat is off to all of them. Their brand is strong!
i know im randomly asking but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an instagram account? I somehow lost my password. I love any tips you can give me!
@Jaxxon Jason I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and im trying it out atm. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Even though I own several of their albums, this is the first Weezer performance I've actually ever seen in it's entirety. And I have to say, I was generally entertained and impressed throughout the entire show.
Brian Bell came up with that cool solo tone on Beverly Hills way back in 2005 and his guitar tech has had too hook a talkbox up to his rig every show since.

it was a great show, the crowd only knew beverly hills which I booed during. I tried to cheer enough for whole crowd but I was hoarse by harmonica part in jonas. I was so stoned which was great. Then the chillie peppers came on and they were the perfect band to follow
I was there and wish the sound was this good that day. For the first 5 minutes you couldn't really hear them. If you look closely you can see the crowd is not very energetic in the beginning.
I have no idea how they can stay in tune for 65 minutes without a guitar change. It would help to use an Evertune Bridge, which is something I would do in their shoes. Never have to think about tuning live, ever again.
It must be because Rivers’ Warmoths have fixed bridges & locking tuners. Karl Koch (their roadie) said that his blue guitar never ever went out of tune
@@Paul-dw2cl Thanks Paul, wondered how Rivers pulled it off. Having the freedom to not worry about sliding out, so you can keep the flow of the show going is liberating.
@@thestradiosmiles I guess it depends on your perspective. I think he's talking about those arpeggios, and I've heard about loads of bands that don't play those kinds of arpeggios live because they can come off a bit sloppy. So I wouldn't be surprised if weezer did this too.
@@madhavsingh7345 Right I can agree that it's no beginner guitar part, but even the intro to the song is the same style of arpeggiated chords and is arguably harder because it's not just triads up the neck. This guy saying it's really hard just strikes me as insincere or ignorant.
@@thestradiosmiles It's quite hard for someone who isn't a shredder. You can economy pick the arpeggios and that makes it a lot easier (Which is what Rivers is clearly doing), but even that is quite hard. I actually beg to differ though, I find the intro arpeggios much easier because I finger pick/hybrid pick them, but I find this other arpeggio section much harder because there are a lot of chord shape shifts to numerous sections of the fretboard - it's a lot easier to make mistakes here vs the intro.

@@mikequinlivan8842 How So? Every other 90's rock bands just either ripped off Nirvana and Peral Jam. Weezer created their own sound, melodic chorus, and catchy hooks. Most people dismissed them because of their name.
@@musicmania1263 weezer is an insanely popular band dude. back then and to this day. also rivers biggest influences are beach boys, pixies, and nirvana and you can hear a lot of that in the music - while yes bringing a lot of original magic to the mix.
@@TedDiabetes well i mean not really, a lot of weezer fans like to praise pinkerton for its sheer rawness of emotion. But i see why a lot of people would be turm off by that especially the recording quality isnt as clean as blue. But EWBAITE and the white album are both great albums. Not as good as blue but still really good and enjoyable
That was a very very entertaining hour and a half of great tunes by a tight band who don't always get the credit they deserve from the music critics......they really rock.
@@marw5276 I do like it, it reminds of songs their old quiet songs like only in dreams...just hated the pop stuff recently, but its cool they r tackling different genres, but I guess I'm a Pinkerton at heart! N I love van halen!
@@MikeJones-ns8rh I think it’s cool that they are trying new stuff but they are definitely in their element when they are playing rock! I cannot wait for van weezer!!
Saw them at Blossom Theater with the Pixies bout 5 years back . Was really surprised how much I enjoyed there live sound. They finished set with paranoia by sabbath. Haha. That was cool.
The 132 thumbs down are the guys with the receding hairlines who still live in their parents basements wearing t-shirts over their long sleeves and will only listen to Blue and Pinkerton.
This band is superior to Almost every single other band today. They’ve always been an excellent band. The music has always been excellent. And I just discovered them about a month ago. So far, I have not heard a song that I didn’t like. El Scorcho comes closest to me not liking it. But I’m going to listen a few more times before I decide. And that seems to be everybody else’s favorite or some thing. Anyway, with the van being great, the music being great, and having a great image, I don’t know what is wrong with people who don’t like it. I think they must have cognitive issues. seriously, I questioned the mental state of anybody who does not enjoy this music. Yes, it pisses me off the way people write this band off. I don’t get it. And I don’t know why I never heard of them before. That also pisses me off. There’s something wrong with the public that they don’t like this band and they vote for Joe Biden.
