Weezer - Unchained Melody (2004) Full Album 

He probably has so much material, also some songs maybe just doesn't align with his ideas for an album. Some songs waited for more than 20 years to be released(byzantine, for example). Lately, his albums are most entirely consistent of old ideas and demos. And he wrote most of his post pinkerton songs in 2002-2005 and then 2010-2014. Like, almost all songs from VW that we heard are demos from ewbaite era.

The opposite is true. He cares a lot and often it backfires because he holds back the good stuff in favor of absolute dreck. It sells tho so who's laughing?

Ween and They Might Be Giants are two others that have extensive demo libraries. To me, those are the best types of artists.

Obsessing over Weezer demos is certainly a special thing. It’s hard to put my feelings into words, but I know I love the band much more because of their demos than I might have otherwise. In fact, the great 2020 demo droppings were what got me back into Weezer after not being so interested for a long time, and they brought me back in such a huge way

But with the demo bundle dropping of 2020 it seems like Rivers is almost an emotional drone, looming over us, calculating our emotions because….idk. Hope you understand what I’m saying…either way with Weezer’s demos they can drone me 24/7

Whenever I wanna hear new Weezer stuff, I always listen to demos like these. Homecoming was the first demo I fell in love with, it’s almost like discovering another 90’s album by them

Honestly there's so much unreleased material that it's ridiculous.

I like both Weezers. Garage is great. Full hi-fi is great.

It's like he forgot he wrote the lyric, "I forgot that disco sucks" Or Rivers gets off on making us look for this stuff. Someday there will be a giant box set with decades worth of stuff. They'll tease us all with it, then we'll have to come to yt to bootleg it because they'll never put it out. Just like I had to pay $20 for a bootleg of Goat Punishment shit 20 yrs ago. I'd like to know why the good stuff never gets released and the albums sound like crap. If they write all of this, just start dropping doubles. Just release double albums like mad. Nobody does double albums anymore. Stop the bs. Been down since 97, stop toying with me.

I do think it would help a lot if rivers focused less on his vocal performance being perfect and more on it fitting the tone of the song

Tbh Rivers kinda lost it around 2002 (and by kinda I mean he went off the deep end) so if it sounds like a shooter anthem, it might've been because he was in the mood to make one

Until I started looking here, I couldn't understand why where I'd been obsessed with Weezer until 20years ago - I just couldn't be excited the same way about anything AFTER Pinkerton. I totally lived for that, & everything before it

@@SoniKast nothing, on the face of it. but for me personally I felt less connected to their material on the whole and I think that might be part of it. anyway they're immensely talented people and my opinions don't mean all that much. Rock on Weezer and Weezerdom!

@@jamiefougere5957 Ah yeah, that's understandable, personally I like pretty much every weezer album besides maybe Maladroit (I'm warming up to it though), Raditude and Pacific Daydream Though I recognize there's definitely some issues like certain lyrics and such

It's called "everybody wants to be alone" and was ultimately scrapped for sounding too similar to Island in the Sun

The demo of simple fisherman at least has a solo more reminiscent of the ones on here. I would definitely add at least that if I were making my own tracklist

Besides, your tracklisting isn't even close to what Rivers officially intended for his "Unchained Melody" collection

Maladroit was Weezer’s worse selling record up to that point, and according to the Ryan Maynes Weezerpedia article, many people didn’t like the Album 5 demos. I also doubt this would have sold well
