Rivers represents the incarnation of all people who are slightly disfunctional or awkward, he doesn't change for the fans or the time, he stays who he wants to be. And if thats is slightly awkward and human, then he's perfectly awesome to me.
Though i would say this is a bit too close to the original (in my opinion). Could`ve done more their own interpretation. Although great, it doesn`t really feel new.
Except the only person you see in this video in the band Weezer is Rivers Cuomo the lead singer. Hence him saying "Let's bring out the rest of the Weezer franchise" at the very end.
I don't like Coldplay, but I love this cover. For some reason it makes me feel really nostalgic about old Weezer from the 1990s and when I was young and carefree. Freakin love Weezer.
Benjamin Stahl Do you think Rivers would be the nerdy guy who knocks out his Highschool Bully for his future baby mama, or the type of nerdy guy to climb into a tree and be a pervy peeping tom?
i love how they have always done their own thing, meaning, they could have easily became a nostalgia act like everclear and what not. They went their own way
jordan blakeley Thats not freese. Freese is blonde and a lot older. Freese was the normal drummer for weezer for a part of time. Rivers wanted to be free on stage so pat took the guitar and freeze took the drums
I love rivers cuomo. i was born in 95' and had the wonderful opportunity to see him in cincinatti last year. I sang all the words to every song they played and could have cried
He always wanted to be a rockstar. A lot of us keep saying "pick up the guitar again, man!" but he really wants to enjoy connecting with the audience more because focusing on guitar takes a large part of your concentration. =w=
I love Weezer and forever will but i do miss Weezer being good, i havent yet listened to the Hurley album out of fear from my experience with Raditude that being said i love this video
I've seen Weezer a few times since the 90's for the blue lp tour, up til the tour after the teal lp was released. That teal album tour was amazing! They continuously sound great with age!
Rivers' song writing has become so expansive that he sometimes has trouble remembering his own lyrics. Better safe than sorry when singing a song he didn't write.
You realize they usually cover these songs with little to no practice at them which is why he doesn't have the lyrics in his head, not sure what concert it was but I'm pretty sure the randomly first time played a song at one point. Weezer is great, you're just crazy.
Its the anthem of nerdcore!!! love it!!! delusion of grandeur perfectly matched by true nerdyness. Rivers doesn't pretent - he ist just like that. Unlike Chris Martin he is able to give the words of this song meaning.
this kind of reminds me of a highschool talent show haha...all jokes aside this was pieced together greatly and rivers' vocals are great for the lyrics!!!
