[Wei Wuxian & Nie Huaisang parallels] I'm gonna hunt you down 

There's quite a lot of parallel between the two, which makes Wei Wuxian telling Nie Huiasang that the most important Gusu law is to not 'befriend evil' rather interesting

if wei ying and nie huaisang sat down and talked about huaisang's schemes and his reasons, they would probably go back to being close friends.

I literally love Huaisang so much. At the time at Gusu when WWX mentioned the control of resentment, Huaisang was the only person who said it made sense. And when other things happened much later, he never participated and watched from the side lines. I feel like, Huaisang always knew things wouldn't end well and after he figured out the music killing his brother, he finally took his plan to action. I feel like as Huaisang began to realize things, he also figured out the reason behind JZX's death as well which is why he brought WWX back to life. WWX was innocent and Huaisang had always believed him. They were similar in principles and heart. Bringing back his best friend was not only because he knew WWX and LWJ would figure out JGY but also because he knew that along the way, everything that had happened in the past would be explained and things could begin to fix themselves. WWX finally able to be heard. LWJ found his life again. JC finally understood the secrets WWX had never let him know. JGY was exposed. And Huaisang himself got what he wanted in the end.

I wish so badly that they would rekindle their friendship. They are SO similar and both hold such strong moral compasses. Both were willing to do "bad" things for the sake of other people. Ugh. Love them.

I don't know what to say. I'm addicted to this story, I love and adore the characters' complex personality, and I love both Wei Wuxian and Nie Huaisang. They're intelligent, clever, loving and loveable, and unbelievably strong. So this video... just hit that bleeding part of my soul which can't recover from their painful history. Thank you for the exposition of this parallel.

Can I just say how much I love this?! It's amazing and I love these parallels, I never really noticed them before- not to this extent at least- and I love how it shows that they're both so similar in their values and beliefs but the execution of their plans is completely different (NHS is more hidden + covert VS. WWX being more open and transparent) and it leads to different outcomes. WWX dies for his method of execution of his various plans (saving Wen refugees, helping his brother and saving the Jiang Sect in the process) but NHS actually succeeds with a favourable outcome (JGY dies and his actions come to light, NMJ's body is recovered). I also noticed that in a lot of these parallels, WWX is alone or standing on his own, but NHS had other people around him, even if they aren't part of his plan, they're still there in the periphery, and him still being part of his sect means he still has the support of them however indirectly while WWX had nothing. And since NHS's plan only took place after WWX's death, and WWX was an integral part of NHS's plans, it seems to me that NHS saw what WWX was doing and saw how he failed in his plans and realised (and this realisation probably happened a while ago, while they were still at Gusu for the lectures- it might even be how they bonded as friends) that he and WWX were very similar in their beliefs, and that in order for NHS to succeed he needed to do things more covertly and be more behind the scenes unlike how WWX was doing things. And a part of me thinks that maybe that's why he brought WWX back, not just bc he needed him for his plans, but also bc they were friends once and WWX was unsuccessful but if he hadn't failed, NHS wouldn't have known what to not do to be successful, and maybe he felt that since they're so similar, he would like to have WWX back, maybe to give him another chance to uphold his (or their shared) beliefs and values, or maybe he felt like he owed it to WWX and so he brought him back to allow him to also have the "happy ending" that they both sought to have through their various plans. I just feel like these are some of the possible reasons NHS had for bringing WWX back and these parallels are what made this entire thing pop into my head, maybe I should fic this headcanon of mine lol

2:07 that is such a sad, relatable moment TwT. nie huaisang was tricked by jin guangyao and he thought he was helping his big bro but in fact he was playing the tune with evil elements added into it, which made his bro do bad stuff. and wei wuxian was disturbed by jin guangyao, who played evil music to make wen ning kill jin zixuan. they were both victims of jin guangyao's assholey evils, but in the end in CQL they both got their revenge and jin guangyao died.

Absolute chills. Watched Fatal Journey with my gang and they finally understood my NHS love. Dude took three days out of his trip to Gusu to catch a bird he thought was beautiful. JGY never had a chance. The major difference between the two is planning, so I get why he gets more flack for harms he caused. But still. FANTASTIC WORK.

Exceptional video showing what Wei Wuxian and Nie Huisasang had in common and how driven they both were in their own ways. An interesting parallel of how both of them used flutes instead of their swords when they needed to be powerful.

I love them both. I appreciate that he literally brought his friend back from the dead because he knew WWX was the only one capable of getting justice. This was such a great show case of them. Nie Huaisang character always reminds me of that episode of The Mentalist where it's revealed that the guy was pretending to be mentally disabled was actually responsible for the murders to avenge his friends murder. If you haven't seen it just search The Mentalist Moby dick scene it will no doubt come up.

After watching this i realized how similar the two of them really are. I would love to read a fanfiction where both of them create a plan and scheme together!! I've been looking for more Wei Wuxian & Nie Huaisang edits, can't find any as good as this one!

I love to see huaisang getting some appreciation. Next level grudge holding.

Wow. Absolutely stunning. The parallels between the two make this…completely beautiful. Also, I can never get enough of Huaisang’s glare. I love how Wei Wuxian’s and Huaisang’s ways of speaking back mirror each other and how, while WWX was at one point forcing himself to be strong and suffering inside, Huaisang exaggerated his worthlessness and was playing everyone. They both sought revenge. Do you take requests? If so, could you make Song Lan and Xiao Xingchen with ‘Deja Vu’ by DREAMCATCHER and Wen siblings with ‘Scream’ or ‘BOCA’, also by DREAMCATCHER? I just think that DC’s discography fits CQL/MDZS so much and there’s no edits. You’re absolutely stunning at editing, so… Sorry for rambling.

I was totally blown away by TU ending. NEVER saw NHS as the one behind the scenes. The pen (brush) is mightier than the sword. Just got done watching Fatal Journey and I wish they made it longer, showing more of NHS journey of how he under took his plan of vengeance. That look when he bowed at the end...So BADASS! 💞

Ahhh this was very nicely put together, a lot of people never read the book or watched Fatal Journey and that means a lot of Nie Huaisang's actions fly under the radar but the dude is just stone cold when he has to be. I really love the idea of them eventually gravitating back towards being friends again post-canon, as they grow to trust each other again. Huaisang isolated himself quite a bit with his actions but I think if anybody would understand, it's Wei Wuxian. (And he seems to be done with the morally grey stuff now that he's got his revenge, so that can stop being a point of contention.) Anyways, there's a point early on, not long after the Cloud Recesses summer school arc (I think around the first time they bring in Xue Yang) where Nie Huaisang says something along the lines of "we're just the same, Wei-gongzi," and it really is interesting to see that even *he* sees parallels there, even so early on.

I don't really think that WWX see's NH as evil(what many seem to Believe bec of their last line towards each other) much more do i Believe that he can see himself in his dear friend like a Mirror,he does understand just all to well WWX would have done the same thing if he would have stood in NH place or something similar if not even something that would involved much much more blood but...anyways i love this two complex characters and wished we could have seen more interactions with them together

im here again also to say this still HITS and the quotes and i love them if they had teamed up at some point they'd be unstoppable also just realized how grateful i am for fatal journey bc it actually gives so much more to NHS character than cql did and could and stresses how he's not this defenseless puppy that gets revealed as a mastermind in the last 10mins but so damn smart and capable and not afraid to speak up for what he believes is right ! in conclusion: i love my man NHS and you for all your nhs content (and in general ofc)
