I love wei wuxian's character so much. He was the strongest mentally, physically and was a prodigy with the most potential as a cultivator from his generation. WWX took pride in his talents yet he was so selfless that he gave away his golden core to his brother knowing full well that he would become ordinary without it. But he still survived, found other ways to become powerful, instilled fear in his enemies and became the Yiling Patriarch all without his golden core. He devised new magical techniques and items with his out of the box thinking that people used even after his death. Only he could control Wen ning and the stylian tiger amulet. No one would dare take him lightly.

I have never seen a character straight-up breakdown and give up the way Wei Wuxian did. It's horrifyingly beautiful how they just broke him. He truly had no choice. No other stories have the balls to just break their character the way The Untamed did.

I love the bond between Yanli and Wei Ying so much I’m sobbing, really he cherished her so much the moment she died all his will to keep fighting vanished with her. Wei Ying didn’t deserve all the shit the so called clan leaders gave him these episodes frustrated me so much istg

I read a comment somewhere that said the best thing about the untamed is that every character is morally gray and I think that’s so true wwx isn’t a bad person he tried to do the right thing even when the odds were all stacked against him but what inevitably lead to his demise was his arrogance I think all the actors played their roles phenomenally and I appreciate the way that the story offers all these different perspectives I appreciate how you can question the morals of everyone because that’s how humans are there is no “good“ and no “bad“ person

It was like he couldn't hear anything, see or feel anything, he had already decided that its better to end. Even he didnt hear or see lwj calling for him until he falls and lwj grabs his hand then he noticed lwj was there and also someone was still trying to save him. But its too late. He smiles at his last hope but he had already decided.

The duality of this character is everything. He really went from being the smartest and kindest to being the smartest and most feared person in the cultivation world.

the way he was gone for 3 months and then came back a different person in a whole different font broke me, he did his job. He protected everyone and lost himself and his golden core yet still out came that and even so they broke him over and over again, out of all people they chose to blame him for everything after all my baby ever did was save, protect and love them. This show truly changed me as a person, I watch it every 2 months to remind myself I’m not at my lowest and it js shows me friendship, caring, love and humor and most importantly humanity. Will forever love this show and pass it down to my kids and my whole bloodline 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Watching the scene when he fall off that cliff and how LWJ tried to save him only for WWX to fall with a peaceful look in his face always makes my heart ache & brings tears to my eyes! Its just too painful 😢😢

what did me in with the untamed was how none of what happened to wwx was his fault. Normally in a show the main character causes there own problems* cough* * cough* (jiang cheng) but wwx was a good and selfless person who was even willing to give his stupid undeserving brother his own golden core, knowing full well that he would be powerless without it. After that he got screwed over by the clan leaders and manipulated by jin guangyao. which Ultimately lead to wwx's huge breakdown after his sister died( side note ytf didn't jiang cheng try and protect there sister?) Miamiia pardon the spelling the lady he protected in the cave giving away his core his every action was about sacrifice and apart from wen ning none repaid him and we speak of Angel's yiling patriarch was the real angel and usually Angel's are never understood probably that's why he was hated. My first love in this series loved him till the end ahhahaha

I read the manhwa, watched the animation and also the drama and all genres made me feel love, and anger for wei wuxian. He deserves more than what those people do to him. He became yiling patriarch but I wished that he didn't have to go through all the sufferings because he is too kind for the world.

I'm re-reading the books right now so I keep watching videos to accompany my reading, and I love all the dark Wei Wuxian edits. Like, the imposing/scary nature of the Yiling laozu role and his subsequent downfall was so tragic, and you could just see how it would all lead to tragedy, and he clearly had severe PTSD, but it's also kinda hot and quite impressive. I mean, what a life to live, to hold that much power through only your own skills and actions, and not through politics or being born into privilege. If they had let just him live, he would have been the grandmaster of the entire cultivation world simply by being the smartest and most inventive.

Okay I seriously need a dark wei wuxian and lan zhan video focusing on their differences and all these dark parts like HOW is this not a common trope or edit between them I can’t believe this is the only video I found of this trope!!!

SPOILER (Please don't read this if you haven't read the novel okay 😑) His character is so well written and complex. You'd think after reading the description for the BL, it'll be a basic enemies to friends to lovers plot but it has layers and when you read the novel, you'd expect him to be this evil, heartless, and brutal man. I was certainly confused when I read the first few chapters. Because how can someone as kind, goofy, and lovable turn into someone people loathed and even celebrated his death? When things became clearer and as the story progressed I got angry FOR him. The way they treated him was so unfair and so prejudiced. It's why LZ was such a trooper and perfect partner because through it all, when everyone had already branded him as a villain, he knew WWX had good intentions. He was simply driven to do such evil things because its what they'd expected him to do, and they'd already put him inside this box. Considered him as an enemy without really knowing the reason behind his actions. Though despite all that, I can't really say that he's "good" because he'd dome questionable and really straight up horrible things, but I wouldn't call him "bad" either. Just very very very misunderstood. GDC really looked at the enemies to lovers trope in the eye and spit on it lol. LZ loved him despite all odds, and even though the chances of WWX returning were so slim, the moment he realized his love had returned, he didn't hesitate and stood by him again. Anyway, one of the best BL out there. Such a shame for China's Censorship though. Because if they had the freedom to really stick to the novel I believe it could have been 100x better.
