I do a mixture of weights and calisthenics so i can always find an exercise no matter how i`m feeling on the day. You can progress a fair way with just a set of dumbells and some resistance bands. If you have somewhere to hang a set of rings, they are a great addition.

That sounds like a great mix, I agree that rings are amazing! You can do so many great exercises with rings and get very strong.
