There's something so painful about watching a guy not understand resonant frequencies, claim they were used to levitate boulders in the desert, then equate himself to a modern Nikola Tesla or Isaac Newton for how big brained and smart he was to figure that out.

Here's the actual reason why Star Forts exist, it would allow you to even monitor what's going on on the ground of the spikes left and right to you and provide kill corridors for defenders. This has nothing to do with sound, it's a design for defense and not EVERY star fort is perfectly shaped.
@thamasteroneill
@thamasteroneill Год назад
It's wild to me how people like Greg take something that is in fact incredibly well understood, like the evolution of defensive structures into star forts. And turns it into mystical mumbo jumbo, due to their inherent lack of actual curiosity, and need to find corroboration of their own weird ideas. I mean I get it, star forts are really cool, they are however, not magic.

I think I recall several years ago that researchers studied the composition of the pyramid stones and found them to have unusually high water content for supposedly being solid blocks carved as whole segments compared to the quarry they originated from, and along with a few other properties they concluded the stones were formed via an ancient concrete process. Breaking them down into tiny bits and reforming them with massive molds hundreds of miles away is a lot easier and makes more sense than cutting and transporting entire 2.5-ton blocks.

39:00 - Yep, we have a decent number of examples of premodern people using specific kinds of rocks to make musical tones. There's even a term for them: _lithophones._ One of the neater examples was a kind of 'lithophone organ'. Someone took a cliffside showing geological layers of different kinds of stone, then methodically chiseled the layers into distinct 'shelves': each 'shelf' would produce a different tone when you ran a hand-sized stone across the top, due to its shape and the specific resonant qualities of that rock layer.

I shit you not, I used to believe a lot of the same/similar things as armored skeptic. I was really into spirit science and can understand how some people get so sucked into conspiracisim. I ended up deradicalising because watching one of The H3 podcast highlights with Hasan in it. I can tell you the exact video. It was a video talking about the how Rambo 3 greeted you with a message "this film is dedicated to the gallant people of Afghanistan", and it was Hasan talking about how it was removed after 9/11. I thought it was an interesting video and watched the whole podcast. It was HasanAbi's first time appearing on the podcast. Before, they even started working together officially. It was thanks to Hasan who introduced me to political streaming, then I started watching Xanderhal, Vaush, Dylanburns, and Shark3ozero. Vaush really tore into spirit-science and watching other anti-theists like yourself that slowly turned me off to the whole thing, seeing how it gets taken too far and heavily involved with far right conspiracisim, I did like meditating and want to pick it up again. Great video btw. I like these deep dives into channels like armored skeptic, sometimes I think he's doing 12D chess satire, but honestly, it's hard to read.

The story of the walls of Jericho in context was not meant to imply that the horns themselves blasted the walls apart with acoustics. In ancient warfare, horns were used to signal troop movements, and walls were breached using siege weapons. To make a battering ram, the oldest and simplest of all siege weapons, all you'd need is a tree trunk and enough soldiers to lift it and run it into the wall.
