When i started taking finasteride 5 years ago due to hair loss, i also started going to the gym 4 times a week. I started taking 5g creatine every day and i have done so for 5 years now. My hair loss stopped completely when i started taking finasteride at the same time i started taking creatine. I have only positive things to say about creatine. And it definitely does not cause hair loss for me
@@amresmail9910 from creatine or finasteride? I believe 2-3 months in, but i could not really notice it. I have also taken typical Minoxidil which worked Great! Finasteride kinda stopped it from getting worse
I body build and take creatine and my hair is fine. Constant stress on the body will cause hair loss but all you need to do is optimize your recovery and stop over training. Genetics also play a huge role
Physical activity can result in an increase in both creatinine and testosterone levels, ultimately contributing to a rise in DHT and exacerbating hair loss. To gain insight into these dynamics, consider getting your creatinine and creatine kinase values, as well as testosterone levels, tested. This will provide you with valuable information regarding these markers.
i was so stupid, my hygiene was absolutely horrendous for years (won't go into detail) and ive had moderate hair loss as a result. Wasn't until this year i started taking care of my hair and washing more often (2-3 x a week as opposed to omce every two weeks) as i became conscious to the bald spots and thinning.
So for me weightlifting helps balancing out my hormones and after 3 months of weightlifting i have way less hairloss ... for me its great. (And I have genetic hairloss)
I'm not sure if this question is up your alley but since finastride prevents tostesterone conversion, how negatively could it affect muscle hypertrophy or gains ? I think it is important to know especially for people over 40.
Have been bodybuilding for years (53 years old now). It was not until I started drinking whey isolate shakes and using creatine. Over the years my hair starting to getting thinner, and the front corners were receding. This, along with super heavy weights each week. Was not using finasteride as well. Got a hair transplant and started low dose finasteride. All the while lifting moderate weights and not using creatine along with the whey isolate. Never had the crown touched via transplant, and was getting thin. Since using moderate amounts of finasteride, and lifting without any supplements my hair looks much better. Will never use any supplements again other than ones that don't raise test.
Great work to cover all this in one take. No ums or ahhhs, great presentation. You’re giving me confidence to stop wearing a hat outdoors and maybe have a transplant.
Creatine sends my follicles into telegen effluvium. It's temporary. It doesn't cause hair loss as it grows back. But it definitely causes a shed. It has happened 4 times to me. It's currently happening now. I'm hoping if I just stick with it that my hair follicles will adjust and things will change back to normal 🤞
@@vincewarren1271 how long did you take creatine for before the hair loss began? I’m took it for 4 months and stopped 2 weeks ago after noticing changes in my hair, and am freaking out massively. I believe my loss was throughout the entire scalp in line with TE, and good to hear that you regrew the hair lost!
@@vincewarren1271I had this happen taking a few test boosting supps at once. It eventually grew back but one time the shedding was insane!! Maybe two much at once. When I take creatine on its own I don’t notice much of anything
Go to gym - hair okay Go to gym and take test/steroids - hair can be okay, but if you have genetic disposition to hairloss it will accelerate it. But if you take finasteride, it should be okay. Go to gym but focus on cardio and weightloss - not eating enough protein will affect your hair but its not the same as DHT sensitivity, it'll grow back.
If it helps it too about a year of taking roughly 5mg finasteride a week before my hair loss stopped it has now after 3 years been slightly reversed. Give it a good go, I'd say 2 years. You may also be one of those individuals who needs higher dose, or higher than what these guys recommend anyway.
Can i use salicylic acid together with minoxidil? Topically? Salicylic acid topically on skin can help keep the hairfollicle/skin/pores clean. And helps penetration of other products (minoxidil). But since salicyl acid is a derivative of aspirine, would this be a bad combination? The internet doesn't rlly give an actual aswer, so what do you guys think?
I had a hair transplant and take TRT to boost my levels, as long as you don’t go stupid and raise your level dramatically above normal and take finesteride cant see the harm as your just getting your levels back to normal.
So i’ve been loosing hair and on Finasteride for 3 months now. I’ve also been thinking about taking creatine for work out but been hesitant because i didn’t want to accelerate my hair miniaturisation. Does this mean creatine could increase my DHT levels even when i’m on finasteride, hence, accelerate my hair loss? Can i start taking creatine without worrying about it hindering the benefits of finasteride?
@@kalinkolev8712that straight up bs. In that case it is because of DHT. Creatine is one of the most tested supplements out there. And no research supports that it causes hair loss. I have been on creatine and finasteride for 5 year consecutive. Not lost any hair
If you are losing hair on finasteride you probably have a strong form of genetic susceptibility to DHT that would indicate it's time for dutasteride instead.
So, even going to the gym and taking no supplements could accelerate hair loss by way of increased testosterone production if we're genetically predisposed to it?
I just found this out the hard way. Never had any hair troubles in my life, and then as soon as I started getting heavy into lifting weights this year I have started to notice thinning hair 😢. I have never taken Any workout supplements or any hair supplements in my life. I'm really bummed because I wanted to see how close I could get to a nice body but I guess that dream is over 😢. In my mid 20s and no one in my family is bald even at an old age. Hopefully in the next 5 or 10 years they have some miracle hair drug and maybe I can achieve my body before 40 😔
I thought there were multiple studies showing that higher testosterone did not directly correspond to higher levels of DHT. This was if i remember correctly, because the conversion due to 5ar enzym was still the dame. Or am i wrong
Just start going to the gym, and stick to it. even if you think you have male pattern baldness. I can’t remember the study of the dht conversion due to high t levels though
How long do you have to keep topical min and fin compounded on your scalp before washing it off? There doesn’t seem to be consistency with this question and no one asks it. Some say 40 mins and others say 4 hours. The solution does make the hair look greasy so it would be nice if it didn’t have to stay on for hours to be effective. Any help would be appreciated from these doctors.
They say that around 4 hours is good enough Minoxodil to dry on hair and penetrate into your scalp. Same goes to finasterid i guess. I am talking about topical solutions ofc
Im in my 60s i still go to the gym 6 days a week, i dont gake supplements and have a full head of hair . I have had a course of PRP treament ( 6 in total).
Can I use finasteride on alternate days (e.g. Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Monday,...) instead of 3 days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) will it get better or not (I definitely did not forget the dose). Thank you so much.
@@fighterinmkiwiscience3517 That doesn't prove it as a "myth". The amount of men that notice starting or accelerated hairloss in time with creatine is just too much to ignore. There comes a time when a number of anecdotes can no longer be called merely anecdotal. Not everything is false just because millions of pounds of research haven't been done to say it yet, if countless people report it as obviously happening to them.
@@fighterinmkiwiscience3517 its not, go see how creatine increases dht, theres no way companies will ever admit creatine increases hair loss, think of all the profit theyre gonna lose
@@seriousplace7756 It is also a fact that a huge number of men report hair loss that correlates with it. You don't need a meta analysis for every conclusion that exists before you take rational precautions regarding it.
I took creatine, whey isolate and BCAAs and gained 5kg of muscle, but noticed thinning. Have stopped everything two weeks ago and not going to the gym until I see improvement… hair > muscle ultimately
If youre genetically predisposed to hair loss its better to start fin and min early while you still have hair to protect. Once it's gone its gone....no pharma treatment will grow it back
@@soccerjr18 Fair enough, creatine is not an amino acid, but it is closely related. It is formed from three amino acids arginine, glycine, and methionine. If it boosted your T, no-one would use steroids lol
Question to the doctors, for those who do weight lifting and the only supplement they take is protein and vitamins and no other supplements, will the resulting testosterones be significant enough to then push DHT much higher? By default for the middle aged man, as their testosterones decreases, shouldn't they hair, or at least some of it, start growing back at all?
Regrettably, engaging in resistance training can indeed cause an increase in Creatinine and Creatine Kinase levels. It is advisable to undergo testing for these markers. Elevated levels of these markers can contribute to a rise in Testosterone, exacerbating the attack on your hair follicles by DHT.
If you do weightlifting and occasionally take a creatine pre workout, is it advisable to still take a yearly break on finasteride for max 3 months? In previous video’s you suggested to take a break so your body can clean up some higher levels of stocked up finasteride. Thank you in advance for your advice!
Hi, is the below logic sound in the context of taking finasteride and weightlifting? If finasteride blocks some testosterone turning into DHT, this means that this amount of testosterone will be used for other body processes like increasing muscle size for example. Is taking finasteride anabolic? If the above isn't true, what happens with that amount of testosterone which doesn't get transformed into DHT due to finasteride, it remains in the body as Free T?
I don't care that the scientific evidence that creatine might cause hair loss is weak. My personal experience on two separate occasions was that it definitely thins my hair and attacks my hairline after a few weeks. Too bad, I really miss the full look it gives me.
Yeah that's the difference between general population studies and individual response. I found the exact same as you, creatine definitely contributes to thinning hair in some people.
he is old, he does not care about his that much hair at this point of his life. I mean his hairline is pushed back a bit but not to much considering his age.
@@bell92661 i’ve had an fue and if I’m not mistaken, I waited 1 month. I don’t think that much is needed for fue but I just waited that long just to be on the safe side. 2 months is probably for fut.
lol, way too excessive. You're fine to return back to regular training 2 weeks afterwards. Anything crazy intensive, like contact sports or really heavy lifting/straining, I would wait an additional 2 weeks. After 1 month you can pretty much do whatever you want, exercise-wise.
I've been questioning this for some time as I see almost all bald heads of people who actually weight train. I suspected the stress and inflammation was a cause, I also took whey supplement for a while but finally stopped, not due to sides but because it's got flavoring junk in it and seemed more for building mass than muscle. I'm too old to get much bigger, I just wanna be strong and fit...with hair, which is thinning. btw, I took fin for a few years and I think it messed me up, bad.
I think the blood circulation caused by cardio improves hair, then lifting does too to a lesser extent. But too much lifting becomes detrimental because of the T and DHT boost. So you have to find the happy medium in training, lifting and cardio.
Are you sure topical min can cause heart palpitations@@jimdandy8996? I've never found any support for this, and any cardiologist I've asked has said no, but if you can show me a study otherwise, please let me know
Do EAA supplements increase hair loss from your experience ? I'm on Finasteride 1mg and regularly after training hard and supplementing EAAs (myprot*in) I felt that temples got worse a little bit. Regarding Creatine I did not have that experience or at least I am not sure.
