After hearing musicians like BBS and Joe Bonnamassa, if the newcomers in rock and blues continue to pump out this quality, I will never say "they don't make them like they used to"! I am a 70's child and this stuff rocked my world, rock on BBS, Bob Weir helped a lot also, but BBS can hold their own as far as I am concerned.
You took the words right out of my mouth Jennifer. Completely agree with you. We are so lucky to be able to enjoy these younger bands that are doing all this amazing organic music that touches our souls just like it did "way back when". I am blown away at the quality and quantity of it all.
I got to go see a Blackberry Smoke live concert recently, they were everything I expected them to be and more. I arrived very early ( 5 hours) at the concert venue, due to me never having been there before. I was walking around the "smallish" building when I saw a tour bus. Still I hate to assume, so I was going to ask the guy walking around the bus (I thought he was a roadie since he had his back to me on the phone), he turned around and it was none other than Charlie Starr, the lead vocalist for BBS. You've heard of southern charm and manners, he was the embodiment of it. It was a short conversation, but a very pleasant one. These guys are true professionals!
Absolutely AWESOME Folks!! Love to see the Rising Star of Blackberry Smoke Soaking up all these other artists influences and sharing music together!! this is what it is all about!!
